Saturn’s Aspects

Saturn’s Aspects

Planetary Aspects

I am continuing on with a series on the planet’s aspects which is part of a basic natal astrology reading series which I’m working on about the aspects of the planets.

Cornerstones

Aspects are one of the four cornerstones of chart readings, so this is something that you really would do first when you start to read charts.

Podcast

Saturn Aspects

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about Saturn’s aspects.

Saturn’s Aspects

Themes

In astrology, aspects to Saturn are significant because they reveal how we deal with responsibility, structure, time, discipline and life’s sometimes hard lessons. Saturn represents maturity, boundaries and playing the long game. When other planets aspect the ringed planet, they interact with this serious, grounding energy and can either support or challenge how we build our lives.

Why Saturn Aspects Matter

Saturn aspects show how we grow up

Saturn is the planet of life lessons and maturity. Aspects to Saturn describe how you handle growing pains, tough love and learning through experience. If Saturn is well-aspected (with trines and sextiles), you may have a healthy respect for rules, timelines, and commitment. If Saturn is under pressure (with oppositions and squares), you may have fears, delays, or a deep sense of inadequacy that needs time and effort to overcome.

Authority and Structure

Saturn represents all your authority figures like your parents, teachers, bosses and the government. Aspects to Saturn can show whether you respect these roles, rebel against them, or feel burdened by their expectations of you. They also indicate how you set your own boundaries and become your own authority.

Work Ethics and Career

In career astrology, Saturn aspects will suggest how persistent, reliable and focused you are over time and in the long run. Harmonious and easy going aspects aspects (like trines and sextiles) to Saturn may bring you steady ambition and success through hard work. Challenging aspects (like squares and oppositions) to your Saturn might denote your career blocks or heavy responsibilities early in life, but with perseverance, these very aspects when worked through, can lead to great mastery and recognition.

Resilience

When the Moon or Venus aspects Saturn, emotional expression may be cautious or guarded. These aspects can make you seem serious or reserved, but over time they often lead to deep loyalty and stability in relationships. Saturn teaches you that emotional growth requires patience and trust.

Saturn Returns

Saturn’s energy unfolds over time. The aspects to Saturn in your birth chart show how you’ll meet different stages of life, especially around your Saturn return at age 29–30 and again at your second Saturn return at age 58–60. These transiting Saturn conjunct Saturn aspects help to explain how prepared you are to handle transitions, long-term goals, and commitments.

Applying and Separating

You can also pay attention to aspects which are applying and separating as this will modify the meaning of the aspect.

The Five Ptolemaic Aspects to the Saturn

Natal Ptolemaic Aspects

When you start out with aspects, I suggest you only work on the five Ptolemaic aspects, which are the conjunction, the opposition, the trine, the square and the sextile. You can move on to the minor aspects later.

Saturn Conjunctions

(360°/1=360° or 0°)

Blending Energies

A conjunction to Saturn directly intensifies Saturn’s themes. The other planet which joins forces with Saturn takes on a more serious, mature tone. This can bring strong discipline, focus and patience, but it may also feel burdensome, heavy or restricted.

Example: Mercury conjunct Saturn might indicate you are a thoughtful and methodical communicator, but possibly shy or slow to speak up.

Life lesson: Learn to juggle seriousness with ease.

Saturn Oppositions

(360°/2=180°)

Tension and Balance

Saturn oppositions often bring external challenges. Planets in opposition to Saturn may represent people or situations that you think block or judge you. This can lead to self-doubt, but also helps develop awareness of boundaries and the need to find balance between freedom and responsibility.

Example: The Moon opposite Saturn might show emotional highs and lows, often tied to feeling unsupported perhaps by your parents, but with maturity, this leads to strong emotional control.

Life lesson: Learn to stand your ground and create your own stability.

Saturn Trines

(360°/3=120°)

Natural Ease

The trine to Saturn is a harmonious aspect that helps things flow more easily. It shows a mature, grounded approach to life and that you have a natural ability to take responsibility, set boundaries, master things or work toward long-term goals without too much struggle.

Example: The Sun trine Saturn may bring confidence that grows with time, a strong sense of purpose and respect from others.

Life lesson: Use your natural wisdom to guide others.

Saturn Squares

(360°/4=90°)

Challenge and Pressure

A square to Saturn often feels like a test. It can bring internal blockages, delays, or make you have feelings of not being good enough. These aspects also bring the greatest potential for growth, especially if you stick to your guns and learn resilience.

Example: Mars square Saturn, a very tough aspect. may show frustration when trying to take action, but with persistence, it can develop into strong willpower and endurance.

Life lesson: Learn to overcome obstacles and build your inner strength.

Saturn Sextiles

(360°/5=60°)

Supportive Opportunities

The sextile is a gentle, encouraging aspect related to your latent talents. Planets in sextile to Saturn work well together and offer opportunities for consistency through effort. You may have a natural ability to be responsible, plan well or build long-lasting results in the nature of the other planet.

Example: A Venus sextile Saturn aspect could suggest that you have a steady and loyal approach to love and money which is essential for a lasting marriage.

Life lesson: Take advantage of slow and steady progress.

Overarch

Time to Step Up

Aspects to Saturn are essential for understanding how we handle life’s challenges. They show where we need to grow up, take ownership, accept responsibility, stop blaming our parents and earn our rewards. While Saturn aspects may feel heavy at times, they are also the foundation of real achievement, wisdom and inner strength in your life. In your natal chart, Saturn aspects point to where long-term effort can lead to lasting success.

Monthly Overarch: September 2025

Monthly Overarch: September 2025

Author: Alison Price   –   Published: August 2025

What’s Coming Up

As an astrologer, you always want to pay attention to what’s coming up in the transits. You will want to have a general feel for how the planets will be moving in the next month, the next three months or the next six months. All of this information you will use for every chart you ever do, or forecast for, your clients this year. So it makes sense to have a have some insights on going on up there and what’s coming up next. This time I’ve done my overarch for the month of September, which I do every month.

Horoscopes

Now and again I actually write the full horoscopes for all twelve signs, but not so frequently anymore because monthly horoscopes are so transitional and nobody ever goes back to read horoscopes for say Capricorn in June 2022. So, while horoscopes may be a great thing to have, they are an incredible time and energy drain on me, so I prefer to do the monthly overarch instead.

What I Look For

In my monthly overarches I look at three main things:

  • Sign Ingresses: The planets changing signs.
  • Stations: The planets changing direction.
  • Lunations: The New and Full Moons and in this particular month they happen to be solar and lunar eclipses, and I sometimes also provide the eclipse charts as well.

Podcast

Listen to the podcast episode about the September 2025 astro events.

September 2025 Overarch

September 1st: Saturn (Rx) re-enters Pisces

Mighty Saturn, who previously entered Aries in May, is now retrograding back into Pisces for a final gasp in the sign of the Fish. The Pisces-Aries cusp is a sensitive point in the zodiac because it is the start of the zodiac at zero Aries and the tail end of the zodiac at 29° Pisces.

Who this will affect

Anyone with planets or points at 28° or 29° Pisces will feel the heavy Saturnian presence again. This will not be just once, but again later in February 2026 as Saturn again passes over the zero Aries point this time moving forward.

September 2nd: Mercury enters Virgo

Dignity (+5)

Early in the month, the Messenger of the Gods, Mercury, will enter VirgoThis will be a good thing for all strong Mercury types and all Virgos. Mercury rules Virgo and is supremely strong, confident and effective there. You can find out more about which planets are better in which signs in my Essential Dignities article. The positive side of Virgo nature will now come forward. Additionally, as time goes on Mercury will conjoin any planet you have in Virgo. This energy is likely to present as many conversations, ideas and thoughts in line with the nature of your own Virgo planets.

6th: Uranus Stations Retrograde 1°27′ Gemini

The first week of September we find Uranus is stationing and beginning its annual retrograde cycle. Uranus retrograde periods usually last for about four months. This year Uranus will be reversing until February next year over the zodiac from 1°27′ Gemini to 27°27′ Taurus.

Who This Will Affect

This particular Uranus retrograde period will affect anyone who has natal planets or points between 1° Gemini to 27° Taurus as they will receive a three-hit transit from Uranus to their Gemini and Taurus planets and points.

September 7th: Total Lunar Eclipse

15°23′ Pisces

This month we have a total lunar eclipse bang in the middle of PiscesLunar eclipses happen at the Full Moon when the Moon, Earth and Sun line up perfectly.  The Virgo Sun shines light onto the Earth. Then, as the Moon slips behind the Earth, it enters the shadow cast by the Earth. This business of the planets forming a straight line is called syzygy. This lunar eclipse will last for around 1 hour 22 minutes.

Who This Eclipse Will Affect

Any Virgo with a birthday on September 6th, 7th or 8th will have the meaning this lunar eclipse hard baked into their solar return chart for the next 12 months. Anyone with planets or points at 15° Pisces will feel this eclipse more as well as the Moon in shadow trigger a brief transit to those planets or points. If you do not have either of the above, this eclipse will occur in one of your natal houses where 15° Pisces is found. In this case it is likely to be a more delicate energy rather than a more dynamic energy than if the eclipse point (15° Pisces) contacts you chart directly.

North Node Eclipses

The eclipse chart North Node may be in the same sign as the eclipse or in the adjacent sign. This lunar eclipse is in the same sign as the node, in Pisces, so Neptune rules the eclipse.

North Node Interpretation

Remember, eclipses happen at the Moon’s position. Lunar eclipses at the North Node, are symbolically like the high tide coming onto a beach. As the tide flows in, it deposits driftwood and other stuff on the beach. It brings goodies for you. North Node eclipses bring things to you in the nature of the house in your birth chart they provide new information, insights, friends, situations, or events in your life.

September 18th: Mercury enters Libra

Having dashed through Virgo lickety-split, Mercury makes it second ingress of the month this time into Libra.

September 19th: Venus enters Virgo

Fall (-4)

Venus enters Virgo. This is not a good placement for Venus as it is the sign of her fall which means that Venus cannot express herself well now. Topics of love and money may be picked over and analyzed without resolution. Only as Venus leaves Virgo and enters Libra, in October, will Venusian topics of romance and finance become resolved.

September 22nd: Mars enters Scorpio

Hot Mars goes home as he enters ScorpioThis is a strong placement for the red planet and you can expect to get things done now. Situations which have been lingering will be overhauled as new information is unearthed. Purging old junk will benefit everyone now. If you have planets or points in Scorpio then you will receive a transit from Mars in the following weeks. Take action and expend some effort to sort things out. It depends on which house in your natal chart Mars is transiting exactly what sort of things are likely to be overhauled.

September 22nd: Sun Libra

Sun in Fall (-4)

The equinox in September signals the Sun’s move into LibraThe Sun is not well placed in Libra as it is the sign of its fall. This shows in that the Sun is independent and focused on what it wants, and Libra is the sign of partnerships where consideration for others has to be given. Thus, the Sun does not express itself well here. The spotlight is now on partners, soul mates and your other, or better, half.

September 23rd: Partial Solar Eclipse 29° Virgo

2nd Full Moon in Virgo

There is a powerful solar eclipse in Virgo this month. Solar eclipses are always a huge focus as the Sun and Moon get together.

South Node

In the solar eclipse chart, the South node is in the same sign as the eclipse, which is Virgo. This means the planetary ruler for this eclipse will be Mercury. Remember, eclipses happen at the moon’s position.

Solar eclipse is at the South Node, or symbolically like a low tide washing off a beach. As the tide flows out, it removes driftwood and other stuff from the beach. It takes goodies from you. South Rd. Eclipses remove things from you in the nature of the house in your birth chart where the eclipse occurs.

South Node Eclipses provide release for you. From information, insights, friends, jobs, situations or events in your life. It is the time to let go of what may have been holding you back. This is the moment to free yourself of emotional baggage or limiting beliefs which you perhaps have held onto for too long.

2nd Virgo Eclipse

This is the second eclipse we are experiencing in Virgo this year. The other was last month. Each year one sign is blessed with two eclipses and this year it is the sign of the Maiden’s turn.

Who this Eclipse will Affect

Anyone with a birthday on September 22nd, 23rd or 24th as the eclipse will be baked into your solar return for the next 12 months.  Anyone with planets at 29° Virgo. If neither of the above options is you, then look to the natal house where this eclipse will fall for some ideas on how this solar eclipse may affect you.

Eclipse interpretation

Kite Major Aspect Pattern

This eclipse neatly fits into a kite major aspect pattern. A kite consists of four or more planets, three in a grand trine and the fourth sextile to two of the grand trine planets. When you have a kite, it supersedes the grand trine so you would not interpret the grand trine. The energy of all the planets flows out to the planet, or planets, at the top of the kite. That is the planet which has the two sextiles to it and the opposition from the bottom point planet.

Kite Top Point

This kite has Saturn in Pisces conjoined Neptune in Aries as the kite’s top points. The energy will likely go out here. The solar eclipse is at the bottom point of the kite where the Sun and Moon are. This suggests that the eclipse Virgo energy will be channeled through to Pisces. We could assume some kindness will be found for those less fortunate than ourselves. Small acts of consideration will no doubt be the order of the day. The other two planets in the kite are Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. These two outer planets started their synodic cycle way back when they were conjoined in the 1960s in Virgo.

September Special Focus

Equinox

This month’s special focus is on the Autumnal equinox (Northern Hemisphere), or the Spring equinox (Southern Hemisphere). This equinox occurs each year when the Sun enters Libra on September 22nd. The Sun is overhead at the equator with zero declination. Now the Sun, on its path, leaves being overhead in the northern half of the Earth and moves southwards and ultimately towards the solstice point in December. This is a part of the annual solar cycle which we experience every year. There is modicum of balance in the zodiac as the Sun enters the equinoctial sign of Libra.

Autumn-Spring

Now Autumn begins in the northern hemisphere and Spring starts in the southern hemisphere. Both seasons (Autumn and Spring) are moderate being neither scorching hot nor freezing cold.

Planetary Energy Overview

Bird’s Eye

It is always interesting to have a Bird’s Eye view of the general energies present each month and to see how the vibe shifts as the planets constantly change signs.

Counting Planets

Count the Sun to Pluto plus Chiron and exclude the Moon. So in all 10 planets are assessed. See the tables below.

Active Cardinal Fire

September begins with all the planetary energy emphasizing the active polarity, the cardinal mode and the fire elementThis combination loosely translates into the sign of Aries.

Active Cardinal Air

The month ends with an energy focus on active, cardinal and air which funnily enough translates to the sign of Libra and where the Sun ends the month.

September Overarch

Autumn

As we move into Autumn, the temperatures will start to drop as the Sun moves inexorably further south below the equator. I hope you have a great month and find some highlights in your life especially at the two eclipse hot spots if they contact your chart.

The Moon’s Aspects

The Moon

As the Moon is the first planet that you will interpret when you do an astrology reading. The Moon’s aspects are also super important. When you start out with aspects, I suggest you only work on the five Ptolemaic aspects, which are the conjunction, the opposition, the trine, the square and the sextile. You can move on to the minor aspects later. I believe that any aspect that the Moon makes is worth, nay, more than worth, interpreting.

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about the Moon’s aspects.

The Five Ptolemaic Aspects to the Moon

Natal

In a birth chart, the Moon represents our emotional world. It reflects our feelings, instincts, memories and how we respond to others and situations on a gut level. The Moon shows our need for comfort, safety, caring and nurturing. It also speaks to the past through our roots, our mother and food or maternal caregivers and it shows how we internalize care.

Ptolemaic Aspects

The transiting Moon moves quickly through the wheel and changes signs about every two and a half days. This quick pace means the Moon will forms several aspects to other planets and each of these aspects shapes the emotional tone of your chart. If you focus on the five Ptolemaic aspects of the conjunction, opposition, trine, square and sextile you can get a solid framework for understanding the Moon’s dynamic role in your chart.

Moon Conjunctions

(360°/1=360° or 0°)

A conjunction blends the Moon’s emotional nature with the other planet’s energy. This can create a powerful emotional focus on that planet and what it represents.

Examples: The Moon conjunct Venus may bring deep sensitivity to love and beauty. The Moon conjunct Saturn might show a more reserved or cautious emotional nature.

Conjunctions tend to be neutral and can be harmonious or tense, depending on the planets involved, but they always intensify emotional awareness when the Moon is involved.

Moon Oppositions

(360°/2=180°)

Oppositions highlight polarities and external projections. When the Moon opposes another planet, you often seek that planet’s energy through others.

Example: The Moon opposite Uranus may indicate emotional need for freedom and excitement, but you may experience it through unpredictable relationships.

Oppositions show emotional lessons learned through interaction, contrast, projection and sometimes confrontation.

Moon Trines

(360°/3=120°)

A trine suggests ease and natural harmony. When the Moon trines another planet, the emotional flow is smooth and well-integrated.

Example: The Moon trine Neptune could bring emotional intuition and artistic ability. The Moon trine Jupiter adds generosity and faith to your emotional makeup.

Lunar trines show where emotions feel “right” and may come from past life experience or a strong family pattern.

Moon Squares

(360°/4=90°)

The square is a challenging aspect that stirs up internal dilemmas and tension. With the Moon involved, this often brings inner emotional friction or outer conflicts that help you grow.

Example: The Moon square Sun (as mentioned in our podcast) may show struggles between wants and needs or between identity and comfort.

These aspects can point to childhood dynamics that shape our emotional responses. While uncomfortable at times, squares give you, the chart-holder, drive and emotional resilience.

Moon Sextiles

(360°/5=60°)

Moon sextile aspects indicate there is room for opportunities for emotional growth through effort. It is a supportive aspect, the sextile, that suggests your emotions flow more easily when you choose to engage.

Example: A Moon sextile Mercury aspect can bring a natural talent for speaking or writing about feelings. Alternatively, the Moon sextile Mars might show quiet confidence and calm emotional courage.

In general, sextiles indicate inner resources and latent talents which you can develop.

Why the Moon Matters So Much

The Moon is your internal world and it shows you how you process your life’s ups and downs or ebbs and flows. Luna speaks to your daily moods, unconscious habits and what makes you feel secure. It influences how you bond, how you nurture others and how you want to be nurtured. In relationships, the Moon’s aspects show what you seek to feel emotionally fulfilled. In timing and forecasting, lunar movements and progressions can trigger key feelings and deep inner emotional shifts.

Where to Start

By understanding the Moon’s Ptolemaic aspects in a natal chart, you can gain deeper insight into how a person feels, reacts, responds and cares for themselves and others. Lunar aspects form the emotional soundtrack of your life. If you can tune into them, it may bless you with clarity, compassion and wisdom.

Sun Aspects

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about the Sun’s aspects.

The Five Ptolemaic Aspects to the Sun

Natal

In basic natal astrology, the Sun symbolizes your life force, vitality and sense of purpose. It’s the central energy of your birth chart and represents your identity, drive and the reason that you get up in the morning. When any planets form aspects to your Sun, they color your character and influence how you express your core self. These planetary connections, the solar aspects, help shape your motivation and show where and how you shine in the world.

Sun Conjunctions

(360°/1=360° or 0°)

A conjunction to the Sun blends the two planetary energies together. The Sun is already powerful, so any planet close by becomes supercharged. This aspect brings intensity and focus.

Example: If you have a Sun-Mercury conjunction, for instance, your thoughts and words are closely tied to your identity.

Example: A Sun-Mars conjunction adds drive, boldness and personal initiative.

Conjunctions to the Sun often mark key traits in your personality because they are so strongly felt.

Sun Oppositions

(360°/2=180°)

An opposition to the Sun brings awareness through reflection and relationship. These aspects often show up through other people and their responses to you.

Example: A Sun-Moon opposition (a Full Moon person) might indicate a tug-of-war between your head and your heart, or between your public self and your private needs.

Oppositions can feel like a push-pull dynamic through projection, but they also offer balance and the potential to integrate both ends of the spectrum.

Sun Trines

(360°/3=120°)

A trine to the Sun indicates a harmonious and flowing relationship between the two energies. It shows natural talents, self-confidence and ease of expression.

Example: A Sun-Jupiter trine often brings optimism and a broad outlook on life.

Example: A Sun-Neptune trine might gift you with artistic or musical abilities, sensitivity and vision.

Trines really don’t require much effort.

Sun Squares

(360°/4=90°)

Squares, the aspect of inner dilemmas, to the Sun create personal tension that pushes you to act. They show where you’ll face challenges in expressing your identity.

Example: A Sun-Saturn square might bring self-doubt or a slow path to confidence, but with effort, it can help you build strong inner discipline.

Squares can feel uncomfortable, but they’re often the reason we get up of the couch and get things done. They generate the friction needed for personal growth. Squares simply just work, but at times they can be so smooth that they go unnoticed or underused.

Sun Sextiles

(360°/5=60°)

A sextile to the Sun brings easy-flowing energy and creative opportunities. It’s a supportive, cooperative connection that urges you to grow your latent talents.

Example: With a Sun-Venus sextile, you may have a natural flair for art, charm or diplomacy.

These easy aspects show where things feel easier or where you are naturally drawn to develop yourself. Typically, sextiles are subtle but beneficial once engaged.

Overarch

That Little Light of Yours

Working with the Sun’s aspects is something that every astrologer will do every time they look at a chart, and so should you. Understanding even the basic aspects between the Sun and the Moon, if there is one, can be extremely insightful when doing a chart reading. Your Sun shows your personal story of becoming yourself and owing your identity.

In your natal chart, all aspects to your Sun reveal how you build your identity and where your life energy naturally flows. Solar aspects are key to understanding your birth chart because they show how your core essence interacts with the rest of your planetary team. They are like the captain of your ship.

These important connections guide your confidence, purpose and personal journey. At Starzology, I always encourage aspiring astrologers to spend time with their own Sun’s aspects, because they give a deep insight into what drives you, your heart of hearts, where your strength lies and how you radiate that little light of yours into the world.

Saturn the Real Karma Chameleon

Saturn the Real Karma Chameleon

Guest Post

This is a guest post by Maria Hayes and Astrologer and Tarot Reader from Trusted Astrology.

Is Saturn the Real Karma Chameleon or Your Next Cosmic Life Coach?

You know that feeling when life suddenly gets really serious? When the universe seems to be asking you to grow up, take responsibility, and face the stuff you’ve been avoiding? That’s Saturn doing what it does best.

Saturn has earned its nickname as the “Planet of Karma” and honestly, it’s spot on. While other planets zip through your astrological chart like they’re late for a meeting, Saturn takes its sweet time, about 2.5 years in each zodiac sign. This isn’t just cosmic window shopping. Saturn means business, which may be stressful, but is helping you become the person you’re meant to be.

Saturn: The Universe’s Most Patient (But Persistent) Teacher

So, what does Saturn represent in astrology?

Well, here’s the thing about Saturn: it’s not out to randomly mess with your life.

It’s actually more like that teacher who actually cared enough to push you, even when you didn’t want to be pushed. This planet seeks to activate the consequences of your past choices, but not in a vindictive way…more like a cosmic mirror reflecting back what you’ve put out there.

Been cutting corners at work? Saturn’s transit might bring professional challenges that force you to step up. Avoiding those tough conversations in your relationship? Don’t be surprised when those issues come back with compound interest. It’s not punishment, it’s accountability.

The beautiful thing about Saturn is that its lessons unfold slowly. Unlike instant karma that hits you like a lightning bolt, Saturn gives you time to really understand what’s happening and why.

It’s karma with a learning curve.

The Five Stages Every Saturn Transit Takes You Through

If you’ve ever been through a major Saturn transit, you’ll recognize this pattern. It’s like emotional boot camp, but with a purpose:

First: The “Wake-Up Call”

Saturn makes you painfully aware of something you’ve been ignoring. Maybe it’s that relationship that’s been slowly poisoning your happiness, or the career dream you keep putting off, or that old wound you refuse to heal. Suddenly, you can’t unsee it.

Second: The “Fight”

Well, it’s where things get interesting (and by interesting, I mean dramatic). You resist the

change and try to make the old way work just one more time. You might even convince yourself everything’s totally fine. Spoiler alert: it’s not, and deep down you know it.

Third: The “Breakdown”

To move forward, Saturn forces you to surrender, and something in your life collapses. It might be your ego, your carefully laid plans, or a cherished illusion about how things “should” be. This phase feels awful, but it’s absolutely necessary. You can’t build something new on a shaky foundation.

Fourth: The “Rebuild”

This is when the real work begins. You start rebuilding, but this time with humility and wisdom.

Saturn loves this stage because you’re finally doing what needs to be done, not what you want to do.

Fifth: The “Payoff”

Bearing fruit, this usually arrives by the time the transit ends. You emerge stronger, wiser, and more grounded. The struggle was worth it, and you can see that clearly now. You’ve leveled up in the most authentic way possible.

How to Work With Saturn Instead of Against It

The secret to thriving during Saturn transits isn’t to fight them, it’s to collaborate. Here’s how to make Saturn your ally:

Embrace the Marathon Mindset

Saturn rewards consistency over quick fixes.

That side project you keep thinking about? Start it now, but commit to the long game. Saturn doesn’t hand out instant rewards, but the results you build during its transit are worth the wait.

Think of it like planting an oak tree, you won’t see the full majesty immediately, but with patience and care, you create something beautiful and lasting.

Own Your Part in the Story

Saturn’s favorite question is: “What’s your part in this?”

During its transits, you’ll face areas where you’ve been avoiding responsibility. Instead of playing the victim, get curious about where you might have cut corners or ignored your duties.

This isn’t about shame, it’s about honest self-reflection that leads to real growth.

Build Structure That Actually Serves You

Saturn loves discipline, but not the punishing kind. So, you don’t have to equate it to some sort of karmic debt.

It prefers the liberating kind, the structure that actually makes your life easier and more meaningful. Use this transit to build sustainable routines and set boundaries that support your long-term goals. Think of it as cosmic Marie Kondo-ing your life.

Practice Patience as a Spiritual Practice

Saturn’s timing is rarely your timing, and that’s entirely the point, but not in a dangerous way.

This transit teaches you that real growth happens in the waiting. When things move slowly, it’s not because the universe is working against you, it’s because you’re being prepared for something bigger than what you originally imagined.

The Hidden Gift in Saturn’s Challenges

Here’s what most people miss about Saturn transits: they’re not punishment, they’re purification.

Saturn strips away what doesn’t serve you, even when you’re emotionally attached to it. That soul-draining job? The toxic relationship? The habits that keep you small? Saturn creates circumstances that make change not just possible, but inevitable.

Saturn’s ultimate goal isn’t to make you suffer, it’s to guide you toward your highest potential. It’s like having a personal trainer for your soul. The workouts are tough, but the transformation is real.

Your Saturn Survival Kit

When Saturn’s lessons feel overwhelming, remember these truths:

Every challenge contains a gift. Saturn never gives you more than you can handle, only more than you think you can handle. This is crucial to remember when everything feels impossible.

Shortcuts don’t work with this planet, nor do numbers like 777. Saturn sees through surface-level changes and demands authentic transformation. You can’t fake your way through a Saturn transit. The work has to be real and deep.

The struggle is temporary, but the wisdom lasts forever. Saturn transits end, but the lessons become part of who you are. You carry that strength and understanding with you for the rest of your life.

You’re stronger than you know. Saturn only tests you because it believes in your capacity to grow. It wouldn’t present you with challenges if it didn’t know you could handle them.

The Real Payoff

People who learn to work with Saturn’s energy rather than against it often describe their transit experiences as life-changing in the best possible way. Yes, the process can be intense, but it’s also deeply meaningful. You’re not just surviving random difficulties, you’re actively participating in your soul’s evolution.

Saturn doesn’t ask you to be perfect. It asks you to be authentic, responsible, and committed to growth. When you meet its challenges with maturity and dedication, this cosmic teacher becomes your greatest ally. You end up creating a life of genuine substance and lasting fulfillment.

Remember: Saturn’s transits feel like karma because they are karma. But not as punishment, as a sacred opportunity to become who you’re truly meant to be. The universe isn’t working against you during these times. It’s working with you to help you reach your highest potential.

And honestly? That’s the most beautiful kind of tough love there is.

This Month’s New Moon

This Month’s New Moon

Author: Alison Price   –   Published: July 2025

August 23rd at 0° Virgo

This month’s New Moon is on August 23rd at 0° Virgo.

First of Two Virgo New Moons in 2025

This year there will be two New Moons in Virgo.

This often happens that there is one sign that is bestowed with the presence of two New Moons as there are generally 13 New Moons every year.

This means that Virgo is getting a double kick of the can, and this will be reflected in the New Moon Wishing you can make this year.

The first New Moon is in August at 0° Virgo and the second at 29° Virgo in September which is also a solar eclipse as well.

Talk about double whammy?

Who This Affects

The August New Moon will affect anyone with their birthday on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th as it will be hard baked into your Solar Return chart for 2025.

New Moons

  • In general, a New Moon is a start.
  • It is a time to begin something new and fresh.
  • It is the seed moment of the Sun and Moon’s
  • This powerful combination of celestial energy brings your needs (Moon) and wants (Sun) together.
  • The focus for you will be on where this New Moon happens in your own birth chart.

Find out in which of your natal houses this New Moon at 0° Virgo will occur and consider what could evolve from this.

Who This New Moon Will Affect

All Things Being Equal

Not all New Moons are created equal. How any New Moon affects you will differ each month. You have to be a critical thinker with New Moons.

Step1:

If you have a planet or a point (Ascendant, Midheaven, Part of Fortune, the Vertex or a Node) at 29 Leo to 1 Virgo in your birth chart, this New Moon will affect you directly.

Step 2:

If you do not have planets or points around zero Virgo then look at the natal house in your chart where this New Moon occurs for themes.

New Moons through the houses

Ruling Planet

Because it is in Virgo the ruling planet is Mercury, The Messenger of the Gods, as Mercury is the sign ruler of Virgo. This rulership hints at the thought and dialogue required by you to access and activate this New Moon energy.

Virgo New Moon

Chart

Below is the chart for this New Moon.

House System

I’ve set the chart on the Zero Aries House system. This is so that the chart is relevant for all people around the world and everyone is considered.

New Moon Aspects

Planet Aspects

The August New Moon has several interesting aspects that will modify its energy.

New Moon Yod

This New Moon, the Sun and Moon are both the focal planets of a Yod major aspect pattern that points to Virgo. There are three quincunxes (green lines) to Saturn, Neptune and Pluto. At the base of the Yod triangle are Saturn and Neptune which are both sextile to Pluto.

Yod Meaning

Yods are pointers in a chart much like an arrowhead. The energy from Saturn, Neptune and Pluto is laser focused towards the Sun and Moon, the New Moon position, in Virgo. This suggests that discipline, illusion and transformation are strong themes this month. You will have to do some inspired inner work to release this energy into your life in the house, or area of life, where the New Moon falls in your birth chart. You can choose to consciously focus your thoughts or simply let them go. A Yod does not force changes, but rather it encourages micro (Virgo) adjustments which you can make almost to tweak your life. This time the devil is in the details.

New Moon Square Uranus

This challenging connection suggests that you will need to find some unique ways to get your project started. Squares always indicate internal dilemmas which will be the case for this New Moon. You will have to dig deep to discover how this energy may be expressed for you Do not stand passively by and expect results. Because you know it’s coming up, position yourself strategically to win through unique responses instead of the same old habits that you’ve used in the past. This New Moon won’t just happen to you. You will have to consciously tap into its energy for optimal results. That you are reading this article is already a good sign.

New Moon Trine Chiron

The lunation is also trine Chiron which indicates that you can bring self-healing into your life now. This aspect (the trine) suggests there may be a guru, or guide, just waiting in the wings and who is available for anyone who reaches out. Trines generally are passive and you have to energize them yourself for full value.

Suggested Projects to Start Now

  • A new health diet
  • Step into a new walking program
  • A new job
  • Be consciously kinder
  • A new microscopically improved you
  • The first step to a better life
  • A new pet
  • Plant seeds to harvest later
  • Journal and document the journey
  • Begin a new practical hobby

Venus in the Solar Return Chart

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about Venus in your Solar Return Charts. Listen to our Venus in Solar Return Charts podcast here.

Venus in your Solar Return Chart

Patterns In Astrology

Cycles and Patterns

We astrologers love a good pattern. The cycles of the planets:

  • The Earth takes one year to orbit the Sun.
  • The Moon takes one month to orbit the Earth.
  • And the Earth spins on its axis once in 24-hours. Or a day.

The patterns are pretty stable and we can count in them.

Fibonacci

The golden ratio or the Fibonacci pattern is created by the numbers being added to for the next number in a sequence.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21…

The Fibonacci pattern in nature is found in many animal and plant species.

Plants

Sunflower heads have the distinct pattern of how the seeds are laid out so they spiral out from the center. It appears that this is the best way to cram as many seeds into a circle (the head of the flower) as possible and it is thought that this is why nature does it.

Pineapples

In pineapples their eye seeds spiral up in 13 rows one way and 21 rows the other. One spiral being clockwise and the other spiral anticlockwise, but both are Fibonacci.

Animals

Found in the nautilus shell. The nautilus is a mollusk that lives in the ocean. It grows like many shells in a whirl ever expanding. The chambers of the nautilus are bigger each time. Fibonacci spirals can be found in other shells as well. The point is that the Fibonacci sequence contains the numbers 5 and 8 and these are specifically related to Venus.

Venus Retrograde Patterns

Retrograde 5 in 8 years

The planet Venus describes a pattern that looks like a flower by its retrograde cycle. This pattern is known as the Venus rose. There are five petals in the Venus rose and this is why Venus specifically rules all 5-petaled flowers.

Venus in your Solar Return

Every Year

When you calculate your Solar Return chart, you do it for every year on or near your birthday. The Sun in a solar return chart is always in the exact position as in your natal chart for every Solar return. It is the exact position that makes the Solar Return chart, but the other planets can be in other positions. Now we are going to look at the Venus position in your Solar Return charts. In the subsequent years Venus will be in a different position in each chart.

Eight Venus Positions

Every year after you are born Venus will be in a different position. When you get to age 8, your eighth birthday, Venus is very near your natal Venus position (within one degree). Eight years later, Venus is still within one degree of the previous eight-year position. In fact, from your natal chart, if you calculate your solar return for every 8 years, so at age 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 etc. Venus will infinitesimally move from its natal position and painstakingly slowly creep through the zodiac.

Eight Year Groups

This occurs for every group of eight years. For example, the years you turn 5, 13, 21, 29, 37, 45 etc. will have Venus at a different position to the natal, but a similar position for this set (your 5th cycle) of 8-year cycles.

Starting Positions

There are only eight starting positions that Venus can be in your Solar return chart. Every eight years the pattern repeats. The Venus position is not as exact as the Solar return Sun is, but it is within one degree from eight years ago of direct. Venus’ solar return position slowly slips over the course of your life. This means that there are eight distinct positions which you can monitor.

Venus Signs

Distance

Venus can only be up to 48° from the Sun. This means that Venus will be only one or two signs ahead of, or behind, the Sun. If Venus is in Virgo in your Natal chart, then in your Solar Return chart, it can only be in Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra or Scorpio. This means that Solar Return Venus can only be in the five signs near its natal position.

Sun Position

It depends on your Sun degree position. If the Sun is early in its sign before 5° or further in the sign, past 25°, there can only be 4 signs that Venus can be placed in solar return charts. It seems that if your Sun is in the middle of the sign at say, 15°, there may be five signs in which Venus can be placed. Your natal Venus position will be repeated (but slightly slipped) in your Solar return charts at age 0, 8, 16, 24, 36, 44, 52, 64, 72, 80, 88, and 96.

In your 8-year Venus Solar return cycle placements you may frequently have:

  • The natal Venus starting position
  • 3 Venus retrograde positions
  • 4 Venus ahead of the Sun positions
  • 4 Venus behind the Sun positions

What this really means is that Venus has a cycle that repeats every 8 years with a little drift.

The other planets do not.

Solar Returns Charts

You do not have to remain in the same place for these patterns to be expressed.

Venus Return Charts

Love and Money

Of course, if you are truly looking into the Venus profile in your chart regarding love and money, you would cast the Venus return chart itself. This makes more sense. But what we are taking about are the 8 placements found in Venus’ position in subsequent 8 yearly solar return charts.

In a way it’s crazy that this occurs. That the Fibonacci 5-8 that shows up in Venus retrograde motion, is also reflected in the eight solar return starting positions for Venus. And really, it’s not the solar return that triggers this, but rather it is the precise movement of Venus.

Other SR Planets

Repeating Placements

Only the three planets, the Sun, the Moon and Venus have a repeating pattern in Solar Return charts. All the other planets can be absolutely anywhere in the chart. There is no pattern in the solar return charts for Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Overarch

Hidden Patterns

As I said before, as an astrologer I like to see patterns. I find the fact that we only have 8-cycles of Venus in Solar Return charts something interesting that can be followed through and therefore predicted.

Do Your Research

As I said in the podcast, I urge all aspiring astrologers to find what interests them within astrology, which is of course our subject. Find the specific topic that interests you and do some research, dig deeper, explore more and become the expert in the tightest niche possible within astrology itself. Most of the astrology books on my shelf were written 2000 years ago or in the last century. We need these books to learn astrology, but just because things were done one way in the past doesn’t mean that there’s not something new to be discovered.

Davison

I like to reference the Davidson chart readings, which he only discovered in the 1960s, which is a brilliant technique that now every astrology is using. I think every astrologer has something to offer and if you do some research or explore your topic thoroughly you could very easily bring a whole new technique to astrology and to the astrology field in general.

Ready Already?

And perhaps you’re already doing this. Perhaps you are already exploring one particular thing within astrology. It doesn’t have to be complete, and it doesn’t have to be finalized because that’s the nature of research. But if this sounds like you and you’ve got something that you’ve been looking into, I’d love to hear from you and I’d love to get you on my podcast.

If you would be interested, you can read more about being a good podcast guest here. And when you’re ready you can pitch your topic.

Forecast

In your astrology journal and using your natal and no doubt multiple solar return charts please do the following:

  • Note your natal Sun position sign and degree.
  • List your 8-cycle (0 to 7) Venus solar return starting positions sign and degree.
  • Note which cycle (0 to 7) will your next Solar Return be.
  • Anticipate your next Solar Return Venus position to within one degree.

Extend Yourself Further

Retrospectively

In your astrology journal and using your natal and no doubt multiple solar return charts please do the following:

  • Cast you next Solar Return. Now reflect backwards to eight years ago and comment on what your life looked like regarding love and money back then? Do you see a pattern?
  • If you are married or in a serious long-term relationship, find the Venus Solar Return cycle (from 0 to 7 years). Note Venus’ position. Now, consider just how your relationship has developed each eight years (in the 0 – 7 cycle) after your marriage or when you started co-habiting.
  • If you have ever filed for bankruptcy, find the Venus Solar Return cycle (from 0 to 7 years). Note Venus’ position. Now, consider just how your finances have fared for each eight years (in the 0 – 7 cycle) after your monetary crisis.

Your Money Planets

Introduction

There is not one method for financial freedom that works for everyone. Some people benefit from going cold turkey and cutting up their credit cards but that only works for a few. Others like to put in more hours at a paying job, and some will create some passive income that supplements their household kitty. These are just a few examples of how to manage money. But will they work for you?

On the internet there is mountains of information everywhere and you are knee-deep in financial advice tips and get-rich-quick schemes. Everyone you speak to has a system or method to manage their budget. Their method may work for them but it won’t necessarily work for you.

What if you could see the pattern of your money management through the eyes of astrology? What if you could really get to grips with what works for you and what aligns with your core beliefs as shown in your birth chart? What if you didn’t have to listen to your mother-in-law telling you where you are gong wrong?

Well now you can.

Your Money Planets has been created as a guide for a positive approach to your financial life with the help of astrology. It will show you how a little astrological knowledge can make your life better. It shows you how to work with the planets for your financial benefit. You may know your Sun sign and know that you are a Virgo or a Capricorn but you can look deeper into your basic chart and discover the other planets that have so much to say about your financial life. You will learn that each sign has four money planets that influence your financial life and have a lot to say about how you manage your money. This article has tips on income, earning, investing, spending, what to buy, what to sell, where to earn and how to save.

Podcast

Listen to our podcast episode on Your Money Planets.

Money

The markets may go up and down but we are living in the here and now and need to make good financial choices in our everyday life. I’m going to share with you how best each sign approaches money management in general through their money planets. Many people work for others and are in jobs they hate but they keep them because they have to pay the rent and put food on the table. These are basic requirements for everyone. We all need a home and food and succor.

Satisfaction

All people have a small spark inside them that wants to live a more fulfilling life and to be satisfied by the activities and people you know and meet in your life. This spark can be an ember and remain so never quite reaching its full potential or with some fanning it can grow into a full-blown fiery ball of heat, warmth and light.

When you satisfy your creativity by doing things in line with what is indicated in your chart your life will be better and you will be satisfied with your life. If you can find this small spark and bring it to life through caring and doing activities that make it grow your can have a bright light and a warm fire burning that sustains you through the dark days of the work-eat-sleep-repeat grind that so many of us live.

It is my goal to inspire you to do more and do more exciting and creative things that make you feel happy. Much personal satisfaction is found through a comfortable financial life.

Having enough

If you have a plan or a vision for your life you have a better chance of realizing it. Make sure you lift your eyes to the horizon and don’t spend another year with your nose to the grindstone or sitting at a desk staring at a blank wall.

You can raise your sights from the mundane and imagine taking other paths and journeys. You will find that what you have is enough.

Wealth building

Each sign has a different approach to wealth building and you can focus on tuning yourself up whether it is mental, physical or emotional financial freedom that you seek. It is always better to work with the stars than against them. The reduction of debt, being paid what you are worth and spending mindfully are three basics to financial freedom. On top of that to have some mad money at the end of the month is a pleasure. Who doesn’t want to buy their kids toys, bikes and trendy clothes and give tem some cash to blow? This all comes from your mad money. But the catch is that you can only do this if you have got your money under control and live in your truth.

Ruling Planets

Every sign has a ruling planet. Some planets rule two signs. The Sun rules Leo. The Moon rules Cancer. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. Venus rules Taurus and Libra. Mars rules Aries. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. Saturn rules Capricorn. Uranus rules Aquarius. Neptune rules Pisces. Pluto rules Scorpio. These planets are known as the sign rulers. So, if you are a Capricorn then Saturn is your sign ruler. Just about everyone knows this.

But wait, there’s more.

Each sign has three or four planets that rule the financial life of the sign. So, again, if you are a Capricorn you will have Saturn as your sign ruler but you will also have more planets that have a say over you financial life and these planets can be understood in the way they relate to your income and spending habits.

Each sign has one sign ruler and three or four money rulers. The sign ruler is the main planet and in charge and the money planets are like sub-rulers as they only have a say over a small part of your life your money life. And let’s face it this is a huge part of life for most people. Your money planets are fixed by your birth chart so they stay the same for your lifetime. But these actual planets keep moving in the sky and that is part of the story. As the planets change signs and direction they gain or lose their ability to work well for you if they are one of your money planets.

How planets move

For example, if Mercury is retrograde now and it is not one of your personal money planets then that’s ok it won’t affect you and your money this year. But, if Mercury is one of your money planets then it’s retrograde period will change Mercury’s ability to support your financial life depending on which area of your finances Mercury rules and which one of your money planets is Mercury.

Planets in signs will blossom or wilt

In another example, if today Venus is in a sign that it blossoms so either Taurus, Libra or Pisces it will be a bonus time for you if Venus is one of your financial planets. If Venus is not one of your financial planets then it doesn’t matter. If Venus is in a sign where it wilts so either Aries, Scorpio or Virgo, it will be a challenging financial time for you if Venus is one of your money planets. If Venus is not one of your financial planets then it doesn’t matter. The way your money planets move and connect with the other planets shows the ebb and flow of your economic makeup. A little knowledge of astrology and planetary movements can help your navigate the world of money so much easier than before.

Blossom and wilt signs for each planet

  • The Sun blossoms in Leo or Aries and wilts in Libra and Aquarius.
  • The Moon blossoms in Cancer or Taurus and wilts in Capricorn and Scorpio.
  • Mercury blossoms in Gemini or Virgo and wilts in Sagittarius and Pisces.
  • Venus blossoms in Taurus, Libra or Pisces and wilts in Aries, Scorpio and Virgo.
  • Mars blossom in Aries, Scorpio or Capricorn and wilts in Libra, Taurus and Cancer.
  • Jupiter blossoms is Sagittarius, Pisces or Cancer and wilts in Gemini, Virgo and Capricorn.
  • Saturn blossoms in Capricorn, Aquarius and Libra ands wilts in Cancer, Leo and Aries.
  • Uranus blossoms in Aquarius and wilts in Leo.
  • Neptune blossoms in Pisces and wilts in Virgo.
  • Pluto blossoms in Scorpio and wilts in Taurus.

Your Four Money Planets

In astrology you may be a Virgo and be ruled by Mercury in general, but within that there are different planets that rule various areas of your life. Your money planets cover one area in particular. Each sign has different money planets depending on where the money comes from or where it is going. Your four special money planets are; your income planet, your payback planet, your risk planet and your entrepreneur planet.

Financial levels of your life

These planets can be seen a levels of your financial life. They go deeper from the first one to the fourth one.

  • Your income planet is always used. We all have and need money to pay the rent and buy food and this money comes from somewhere.
  • Your payback planet can be managed over time. Most people will use and/or struggle with this planet and some will even master it.
  • Your risk planet may or may not be stimulated. It is clear that only some people will use this planet. Each person’s appetite to take a chance with money will be shown by their risk planet.
  • Your entrepreneurial planet may never be used but for those of you who do feel the urge to go it alone and start a business this planet is waiting for you in the wings.

You do not have to use all your money planets and most people only work with the first two of basic earning and owing or money in and money out. You may have the same planet for two of your money planets and this is fine as it reinforces that particular planet in your financial life. In this case you can pay special attention to any money plane that covers two areas. These money planets are associated with the four broad types of income and expenditure that you can experience. In total they express your full financial life and the urges and fears that you may experience surrounding money.

Income Planet

Your income planet covers the usual form of income for most people which is a job. It shows the nature of your earnings from regular work whether part-time or full time and for which you are paid regularly. You can have more than one job at a time. All regular and aboveboard income, including bonuses, tips and gratuities earned at work, will come through your main income planet.

This planet shows what you spend your money on and what you invest in. It suggests how you look after money, is your cash neatly tucked into your wallet all the notes facing upright or are they scrunched up and scattered on the bedside table with screwed-up banknotes and random coins on the floor. For example, do you accept or reject torn and dirty currency, and do you respect your money?

Your income planet suggests your credit rating and FICO score. It indicates the credit you can raise and how much you can potentially borrow. It does not show the money owed only the potential funds you can raise because people and banks feel comfortable lending to you and wish to invest in you. It shows pledges you can raise on site like Kickstarter and the like. This planet indicates any collateral you have available to finance more money. It indicates your wealth potential. Your income planet shows your net worth when it is positive.

Payback Planet

Your debts and money that you owe to others like your credit cards, mortgages, student loans, line of credit or that $50 you borrowed from your brother last night is shown by your payback planet.

Your payback planet covers all scholarships and bursaries for education or housing received that you have to pay back. All of these expenditures are influenced under your payback planet.

Your payback planet covers all insurances for which you have been paid out. It rules all annuities being forwarded to you. Insurances and annuities were originally paid for by you, or someone else, but when you are paid out they come back to you as income. You never receive an insurance payout unless someone paid something up front.

Your payback planet indicates where you give contributions and donate to others. It shows where you spend money to buy influence over other people as in political donations.

It indicates your relationship with the tax man, tax audits and all monies you owe and receive from him. Again if you did not originally receive income from your day job, or received interest or win the lottery, you would not owe tax on said income.

If you live debt free and pay everything on time you have reached and successfully navigated the second money planet.

Your payback planet indicates any graft, bribes or backhanders that you accept. It shows income from illegal and under the table activities.

Your payback planet shows your net worth when it is negative.

Risk Planet

Your third money planet is your risk planet. This may not be used much if you do not like risk and is shown by the planet ruling risk in your chart.

Some people will never gamble, play the stock exchange, buy a lottery ticket or bet at the tote and therefore may never use their risk planet.

Any speculative income from stocks or bonds or other financial instruments on the stock exchange including futures, indices and foreign exchange trading comes under your risk planet.

This planet also rules your gambling and lottery wins and all casino and gaming wins or losses. It covers any gains in an office draw, sweepstake or competition you entered.

All games of chance and where you bet like horse racing, dog racing and sports bets come under the auspices of your risk planet.

Your nighttime online poker game is suggested by your risk planet.

Entrepreneur Planet

For most people your entrepreneur planet is the least used money planet. Many folks never use this planet and do not ever have their own business.

Your entrepreneur planet rules all income from a business that you started yourself. This includes any micro or small business you began alone of with partners. It shows income from any company that you own.

Example

For example, if you knit hats or make wooden bird houses and sell them at a flea market on a Saturday morning that income is shown by your entrepreneur planet.

It also indicates income from honors you have received like the cash from your Nobel Prize or grants or gifts from the government that do not need to be repaid.

Which Sign to Read

These financial interpretations have been written for your ascendant sign. If you only know your Sun sign then read that but if you do know your ascendant sign please read that one. You may be a Virgo Sun but have a Capricorn ascendant. In this case you will read Capricorn.

Know your sign

If the Sun was in Aries when you were born you are considered an Aries Sun sign. If the Sun was in Taurus you are a Taurus Sun sign etc. The ascendant is the sign that was on the eastern horizon at the moment you drew your first breath. If Gemini was on the eastern horizon at your birth then you have a Gemini ascendant.

Cusp days

The Sun changes signs at anytime in the day it does not alter signs at midnight. If your birthday is on a day when the Sun does change signs this is know as a cusp day. You may affectionately be called, “a cusp baby.” You cannot be two signs at once. You may think you are both Aries and Taurus because you were born on a cusp day but you cannot be two signs, you are one or the other.

Your attitude towards debt is that it is there to be used. If someone is willing to lend you money you are happy to borrow it. To have power over your money is a tonic.

Your risk planet is the Sun

With the Sun as your risk planet you can take a chance and may do so on several occasions. If you are in the market buy gold and entertainment stocks. For you the markets will turn around June 21st and December 21st every year so always have a stable position then and the markets will hold around March 21st and September 21st each year.

Take a chance when the Sun is in Leo and hold when the Sun is in Aquarius. The solar eclipses every six months can be days of heightened financial energy either up or down so note these days every year.

You will spend on information pieces like TV’s, news channels and even radio. You will prefer to buy local and hand made goods. The three Mercury retrograde periods every year will be times for you to halt spending and return unwanted good back to the stores.

Your payback planet is Jupiter

With the biggest planet Jupiter as your payback planet you can amass huge debt and end up owing everyone and his dog. It may all start quite innocently but one day you will turn around and have massive debt. No matter how much you owe, even a little will seem like a lot to Taureans. Rein in yoru borrowings and you will feel better about yourself. There is the danger of marrying someone who carries big debt so always check this out before tying the knot.

Your risk planet is Mercury

You have Mercury as your risk money planet and this shows the nature of your gambling. You are more likely to fritter away your ‘mad’ money on little lottery tickets and scratch cards than other signs. Each play may be small but over a month it adds up. You are likely to win small increments and often. Avoid all gaming during the Mercury retrograde periods. On the stock exchange cover across the market with hedge funds and spreads. Invest in new channels, TV and radio, cell phones and hand held gadgets.

Your entrepreneur planet is Neptune

To have Neptune as your entrepreneurial planet suggests you will only dream of having your own business or at least dream for many years before doing something about it. Your income planet is the Moon

The Moon rules your financial life including your earning potential. This is a planet that grows or wanes in light as the months progress and this symbolizes how your income goes as well. Some months are better than others for income. Buy as the Moon grows or waxes and sell when the Moon wanes or becomes thinner. The lunar eclipses that happen each year can be pause points for you. Let the day of the eclipse pass before doing something new on the money front.

Your payback planet is Saturn

If you still have debt from last year try to pay it off. Saturn as your payback planet suggests that any credit card debt will be difficult to pay down. If cutting up your cards is not an option then only use one at a time. You can limit yourself and stop adding on any more debt. You may have learned your spending habits from your father but you need to educate yourself and learn how to control unwanted spending.

Your risk planet is Venus

You may be good at getting income from the stock exchange and you are likely to reap profits from this area. Forex may appeal to you. You can invest in sugar, flowers and perfumes. Venus supports good income wherever it is so this will be a positive place for you to attract money. You may even receive income from being a financial advisor for others.

Your entrepreneur planet is Mars

The entrepreneurial planet is Mars and this strengthens your drive to run your own business. You are likely to have already had your own little business or lemonade stand as a teenager. Never take a partner and always own the business one hundred percent. Resist making new moves when Mars is in its retrograde period once in every two years. This is the time to take a break.

Cancer

Cancer is concerned with feelings and to you family is all. You are protective, sensitive and patriotic.

The lunar ruled are safety conscious and aware of the past so much so you can be overly sentimental or spend much time wandering down memory lane. You are steady in a crisis and tenacious. You usually live a sheltered life and strive to provide well for those in your care. Of all the signs Cancer is shy.

Your income planet is the Sun

The Sun rules your financial life including your earning potential.  Your finances will continue to grow over your lifetime but you may spend as quickly as you earn. Make hay while the sun shines and bank as much as you can. You may feel the pinch later in life as your kids suck money out of you and squeeze your incoming funds. Be wary of mortgage buy backs if your grown children need money.

Your payback planet is Uranus

You may carry some debt and then again maybe not. You are likely to get ridiculously low interest rates and this can be how you are initiated into carrying a level of debt that seem outrageous to others. The danger with Uranus is that your may decide to walk away from what you owe, disappear and live off the grid.

Your risk planet is Pluto

You have Pluto as your risk planet and this will curb gambling for the most part. If you do play roulette you will go all in and choose black or red. For you it is go in, win and get out and all within of five minutes. You do not linger where risk is concerned for you it is life or death. You may be a good advisor or sponsor for others wishing to curb their crippling debt levels and gambling issues.

Your entrepreneur planet is Venus

You are likely to do well if you start a business. Venus is a good planet to have and it supports businesses of many types. You will be well-thought of in your business and people will want to do work with you because you can be charming, persuasive and sell.

Leo

The Sun is in Leo from July 23rd to August 23rd every year. Leo’s symbol is the Lion king of the jungle and this has much to say about Leo.

The key phrase for Leos is, “I create” and strong Leo types use this.

The Lion is of the fixed mode suggesting they don’t like change, in the element of fire indicating they are inspirational and of the active polarity meaning they are extroverted. The ruling planet is the Sun (yes, we know it is a star, but in astrology circles it is referred to as a planet).

Leos are dignified, have honor and are proud. They can be vain. They are the most creative sign and are fun loving. They are honest, warm and loyal. They are organized, strong and can be dramatic. They will delegate to the other signs. They take life on in a wholehearted manner. They have a childlike wonder of the world and detest poverty. Of all the signs they can play their role once they know what it is.

Your income planet is Mercury

Mercury rules your financial life including your earning potential and this will stimulate your money area. The danger times for you are the three Mercury retrograde periods each year.

Of course you have to eat and have a roof, but curb any unnecessary spending during this time. You may feel frustrated if you can’t buy all the beautiful things you want in your life but trust me it will be better to hold back on spending at this time. Always only borrow what you can afford and you may think that because they will lend you thousands you should spend it up to the hilt. Not so. Look to your future as a lion in a year or two and decide if you really need more stuff. Spending too much all the time is a problem for many people and Leos want the best and the shiniest goodies for themselves and their families. Leos will spend on expensive and luxury goods for friends and family.

Your payback planet is Neptune

With Neptune as your payback planet reducing your creditors is a long drawn out affair. You may think you are paying down debt but the interest can overcome all your efforts. Get to know exactly what you owe. Do not have your head in the sand anymore on your financial situation. Learn the difference between and asset and a liability. An asset will feed you whereas a liability will eat you. Get educated and clear the fog. This is the classic placement for saying, “I can stop spending any time I want.”

Your risk planet is Jupiter

Leos have the excessive planet Jupiter as their risk planet. This can mean you will risk all and often. You may be able to control yourself but the excitement of the casino may call. The lights and twinkle of these seductive places appeal to Leos. Always only take cash and never used credit cards to cover bets.

Your entrepreneur planet is Mercury

You are lucky to have Mercury as your entrepreneurial planet. This will allow you to have many little businesses all going at once.

This is the classic placement for multiple income streams. You can set up a variety of micro businesses to bring in ten to fifty dollars a month and happily augment your income through these methods.

Virgo

There are more Virgo births than any other sign. Those born under the sign of the virgin are the workers of the zodiac and are often placed in supporting roles. You do not like being put on the spot and will resist leadership when it is offered to you. It’s like a beehive with one queen bee – the Leo and many worker bees – the Virgos.

As a Virgo your ruling planet Mercury and it is intricately woven into your life. Virgos (and Geminis) should pay special attention to the cycles of Mercury in the year and especially the retrogrades when Mercury’s energy is changed and takes on a different guise.

Your income planet is Venus

Venus rules your financial life including your earning potential. This suggests that you do value money and will give it respect. You can earn good money from a regular job or jobs. You may be satisfied with what you bring home and this is good. Do not compare yourself to others rather focus on your own needs. You will do better in a job you love.

Your payback planet is Mars

You pay your bills on time most times. You are only likely to raise a loan for the big things like a mortgage and a car. Not for you the endless credit cards and the store cards that build a merry-go-round of debt.

Your risk planet is Saturn

With conservative Saturn as your risk planet it will likely slow you down and you may never invest in the stock exchange or gamble. The best way to work with this planet is to thoroughly prepare yourself and be informed before you start. Play moderately and limit your exposure in the market.

Your entrepreneur planet is the Moon

Any business you start will grow in phases. You may start off slowly and then develop a reasonable income only to have it snatched away again. Over time you can build a business income but be aware that there will be times of feast and times of famine. Save in the good times because they will not last forever.

Libra

Libra loves equality especially in partnerships. You are persuasive and will encourage others to see your point of view. You are balanced and will compromise on occasion. You generally have good manners and are civil, polite and courteous. This is an elegant person with style.

You are brilliant negotiators and will step in to mediate and take on a peacekeeping role. You love companionship and enjoy being with one special person. The sign of the Scales rules balance, symmetry and things on the level. You can commit and are focused on your significant other’s needs.

Your income planet is Pluto

As a Libran the planet Pluto rules your financial life including your earning potential. This makes it easy for Librans to pull money out of the hat and at the same time bring in a big win once or twice a year. Your earning can be sporadic and sometimes there will be just nibbles and crumbs but at other times you can surprise even yourself at the sheer power of your ability to almost magnetically attract cash.

Your payback planet is Venus

You can attract a mass of debt in your life but with Venus as your payback planet you should be able to easily manage it. After years of varying commitment levels you may finally pay it off and live debt free. You will likely receive valuable hassle free insurance payouts and attract low mortgage rates. You will probably get small tax refunds as a matter of course.

Your risk planet is Uranus

With exciting Uranus as your risk planet you will always take a chance and enjoy betting. You could create a life income from radical trading on the stock exchange and enjoy quick returns. Forex will appeal and day trading can be a good place for you. Venture trading was made for you. Watch out for Uranus’ retrograde periods and especially the few days at the start and finish of Uranus’ retrograde period.

Your entrepreneur planet is the Sun

You can create a business for yourself. It may start out as a side income but you have the potential to make a bright and heartwarming company. People will want you to succeed and you will receive offers of help as your little company gains traction and grows. You may be good at creating the business and then handing the reins over to trusted managers. Always keep full-ownership, avoid partners and the Sun will light the way for you.

Scorpio

If you are a Scorpio you have two ruling planets the traditional planet of Mars the warrior and the modern planet of Pluto the transformer .

Scorpios are intense, passionate, survivors. You have self-control and are penetrating. You like to delve to the bottom of things. You are sexy, deep but also suspicious. You can be unforgiving. You fare well in a crisis. You are potent and can be jealous. Others think you are intimidating and if you are betrayed you will get revenge.

Your income planet is Jupiter

Jupiter rules your financial life including your earning potential and this is the planet of bounty. But the gifts are fleeting and need to be handled carefully, as only a Scorpio can, to make sure they last. Whatever you earn you will be discrete and you can keep it private which this is how it should be. Your financial situation is only your own business and not for general discussion. Through promotion at work you can reach an impressive income as those who matter see and support you.

Your payback planet is Mercury

With Mercury as your payback planet the best way to reduce your debt is to nibble away at it. This means paying what is due each month and then add some in-between payments. Keep paying in the odd $10 or $20 that you have around. In this way you pay more than what is owed but your don’t feel it because it is in small bits of cash. Make an effort to repay more money when Mercury is retrograde three times a year. So every four months you bring down your debt more. With Mercury as you payback planet you may get into discussions about insurance claims and inheritance payouts.

Your risk planet is Neptune

Clearly, or not so clearly, Neptune will bring illusion to your gaming. You may believe that your can beat the house and that is the truth as you see it because Neptune will hide the facts from you. There can be a horrible wake-up moment when Neptune rules your risk appetite. Always take care on the stock exchange and stick to investments in tobacco, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, underwater explorations and sea-going vessels. Never place a bet when you’ve had a drink.

Your entrepreneur planet is Mercury

With the flexible planet Mercury as your entrepreneur planet you can likely have many money making schemes and a few will come to fruition. Pay attention to advertising and marketing of any small business and make sure your message is on track. Avoid bait and switch tactics and keep the product simple to understand. Aim your pitch at the common man and you will do well. Good start-ups for you are anything in communications and teaching like online courses or books. Watch out for the three Mercury retrograde periods every year and stop new initiatives during those moments. Take that time to review what you have already done and produced.

Sagittarius

Archers are cosmopolitan and love anything international. You are open and have a breadth of vision. You are a seeker and are keen to explore the world. You are optimistic and like to live life large. You are forgiving. You can be tactless and plunge in like a large puppy being excited but at the same time it can be disturbing for others. You are the sign of the upwardly mobile and you can bring ethical principles to your life. You have an extensive reach which you may use to gather life’s abundance. You see the horizon as an opportunity to explore as who know if the be dragons there? You have a strong faith and a positive spirit. You can be philosophical and will search far and wide for your truth.

Your income planet is Saturn

Saturn rules your financial life including your earning potential and as this is the planet of limitations you can feel that your earning capabilities are restricted but this is just a way to protect yourself. By saying, “They don’t pay me enough” you are handing the responsibility for you financial situation to others. A better approach is to say, “I value my worth and will earn at my full potential on my own terms.” Don’t settle for a dreary income and tell yourself it is not your fault. It’s time to man up.

Your payback planet is the Moon

You may carry debt that fluctuates over the months. There will be times of massive debt and days when you think you’ve got a grip on it. Be aware that there will always be something that needs to be financed but you don’t have to go for the deal every time. Buy as the Moon waxes and pay down hard when the Moon wanes. Every month at the full Moon look at what you bought, do you want it or do you need it? If you need it keep it, if not consider returning the stuff to the store. Make returns as the Moon reduces in light and the week before the new Moon. Keep an eye out for lower interest rates and move then. You may mirror your mother’s debt habits and this approach needs a good review to see if her methods of debt management serve you today .

Your risk planet is Mars

With your risk planet being Mars you can easily get burnt. Keep a sharp eye on the markets and be ready to sell at a moment’s notice. On the stock exchange buy metals and minerals, defense, arms, munitions and steel. You can do well betting on sports games. Don’t buy lottery ticket in a group but rather purchase them by yourself.

Your entrepreneur planet is Venus

If you start a business it will naturally do well. You may be delighted in what can be achieved with some grace and polish to your business. Spruce up the entrance and get a pretty girl to front for you.

This is a good planet to have as your entrepreneur planet the only thing is you may dawdle before making your move. Never start something new, open a bank account, launch a product, or host a business event when Venus is retrograde.

Capricorn

You enjoy structure, shapes and boundaries. You are responsible, reliable and because of this you can achieve your goals. You have backbone and will respect rank. You admire status and wish to attain it yourself. Of all the signs you can measure concrete results in a mature and serious fashion.

Your income planet is Uranus

Uranus rules your financial life including your earning potential. In a way this is a good thing as Saturn is you Sun ruler and therefore you are used to the controls and restrictions you place on yourself, and it is not a good things as Uranus wants to be the rebel and be the hooligan and when it comes to money this may cause you to spend rashly and on in appropriate things. Uranus urges you towards new and innovative ways of making and spending money.

Your payback planet is the Sun

The Sun as your payback planet suggests that you will manage your debt and owings in a reasonable way. They will neither drown you nor inspire you. They just are. This is a placement for manageable credit card and other debt.

You will likely receive a subsidy, inheritances and insurance payouts if appropriate. You will probably keep ahead of the tax man and not incur any issues there. This planet suggest you can raise a loan with little or no problem.

Your risk planet is Mercury

Watch out for the Mercury retrograde periods and never buy or bet then. Strategy will be the way to go and if you plan your buying and selling on the market carefully you can do well. This placement suggests you may have more than one iron in the fire and you can juggle all your open positions better than most. Be a technical trader. You will be good at puzzles, quizzes and word games and can gain from them.

Your entrepreneur planet is Neptune

There is an old saying that you have to be either a tough guy or a dreamer to be in business and you have both through your Capricorn and the Neptune blend in your entrepreneur planet combination. You may have big dreams of starting a business. You will do well opening a place in the arts, dance and music fields. But whatever micro business you start make good use of video and visual overlays to enhance your brand. Neptune here suggests that a picture says a thousand words and that is the best way to develop your brand. Image is everything here.

Aquarius

Aquarians are concerned with equality and the brotherhood of man. You are generally humanitarian and humane. You are detached and can be objective. At times you are aloof and only seem friendly. You are independent, willful and happy to be unconventional. Being socially aware and progressive you support activism as a catalyst for change.

Your income planet is Neptune

You are lucky to have Neptune rule your financial life including your earning potential. This means that you are optimistic about money and you believe that if you just leave it the Gods will provide. Maybe so, belief is a powerful thing and you may be able to harness it for your money needs. But, for the rest of you water bearers…

There may be times in your life when you think that money does not mean anything and that we can all get along if the money of the world was evened out amongst everyone.

This may be true, but for all Aquarians reading this, you live in paradise as in the Phil Collin’s song, “Another Day in Paradise”. This gives you a chance to do the right thing with your money and any other funds you have control over.

Do not simply give your money away but make sure that what you have does the best it can for yourself, your family, your friends and those around you. You are of the sign that takes, “Think global but act local” to new heights.

Your payback planet is Mercury

Aquarians have the fast planet Mercury as their payback planet. This suggests that you can always bring down debt and what you owe through small incremental payments. To make payments almost daily will attack any large amounts you have. You grew your financial obligations slowly over time and bit by bit is the way to reduce them as well.

Watch out for small amounts and additional costs that bring up prices for things you buy. Interest rates will not be in your favor and this is why you should resist credit cards.

Your risk planet is Mercury

You may spend more time talking about your risk and gambling that actually doing any. On the markets you can benefit as a day trader if you are in and out of the market sharpish. Never leave an open position. Go short as Mercury retrogrades or stay away. You will be a good technical trader where the numbers speak to you.

Buy communications, newspapers and TV stocks. Avoid international trades and currency trades and stay on your national board or exchange. At the casino bet low and small. A multitude of little wins can add up to a substantial amount over time.

Your entrepreneur planet is Jupiter

You can generate a huge following of interested investors who may wish to be part of your plans. Your ideas for business will fly and you will easily create a buzz that can be bigger than the actual product. You will be good in promoting and taking ideas to market.

You and your businesses will appeal to a broad base of the population and any venture you open will have potential. The issue may be that you get bored with your endeavors and let them dwindle. It will be good for you to launch a startup and husband it for a year to eighteen months then sell it on for a profit. This technique frees you up to focus on your next big thing.

Pisces

If you are born under the sign of the Fish it means you fall under the fluid and flowing element of water, the quality of mutability which suggests you are flexible and the passive polarity indicating you will take in and absorb things more than most. This can mean you empathize with others.

If you are Pisces you will make sacrifices and are understanding. You will blend well with others and can be arty. You may drift a bit in life but you have compassion. You are idealistic and can become disillusioned at times. You may be glamorous. You can be vague, kind and will be happy to surrender. You may retreat near the sea and you are spiritual and devoted.

Your income planet is Mars

The red planet Mars rules your financial life including your earning potential.

This can bring Pisceans to earn frequently and be paid quickly. You may think the money will never stop flowing in but there will be lean times as well. You may make rash decisions on how to spend your money and this is likely the root of any financial issues you have. Turn this around and make snappy decisions on how to save for a rainy day and you will see your finances in the correct light.

Every two years during the Mars retrograde period reassess you resume and check out the job market to see if there is something new for you. Every second year is a good time for you to find a new job. You are not likely to remain in one job for years and if you accept this you can be ready when something kicks off.

Your payback planet is Venus

You will probably manage all your credit cards and financial commitments with not much of a problem. In fact you may pay all commitments down early in life (including a mortgage) and never carry debt again.

Venus is a planet that can bestow good things and you will likely benefit from inheritances, insurance payouts and endowment cash. There may always be a small cheque in the post from the tax department. With a little care you can provide well for your retirement and have money at the end of your life.

Your risk planet is the Moon

With the Moon as your risk planet you will have feast and famine times in your gaming and financial risk practices. On the stock exchange buy as the Moon waxes and sell as the Moon wanes unless you are shorting then do the opposite. Buy in the food and beverage sector and farming and waters works.

Your entrepreneur planet is Saturn

Pisces can be timid when it comes to starting a business. You can be held back by fear of failure and this needs to be overcome if you are to build a solid foundation for your business. You may or may not get over this but if you do you can build a well- respected business from the ground up that can endure. It may not be a get-rich-quick scheme but one that brings in regular money as your business earns exactly what it is worth. Any entrepreneurial endeavor will stand the test of time.

Astrology and Trends

Trends are times when it is auspicious to do some things but not others. For instance it may be a good time to start a business that you want to prosper but it may not be a good time to have surgery or buy a pet. Everything has its time and place and there are well known indicators for each thing you may want to do.

Consider the story about the surfers in Hawaii. They go surfing when, “surf’s up” and not at other times when the sea is calm. They also don’t go surfing when the tide is going out. This is a simple way to see the effect of the planets in action and this case it is the Moon.

The Moon makes the tides and there is a high tide and a low tide twice a day. As time goes on each day the tides are at a little different time and over a week they will change dramatically.

People who live on the coast will see the tides going in and out twice a day. If you are a surfer you are looking for the strong incoming tide as the Moon pulls on the waters of the oceans. You can’t surf in if the tide is going out. Similarly you can do some things when the planets that rule that particular thing are well placed and favorable. Each planet rules a part of life and these things are learnt and understood by an astrologer. This is the basis of astrological forecasting, as above so below. Why astrology works I don’t know, but that is does work, I do know. Free will is yours. You live your life and you make your choices.

Uranus in Gemini

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about Uranus in Gemini. Listen to our Uranus in Gemini podcast here.

Uranus Ingress Chart

Gemini

An ingress chart is when a planet enters a new sign or house. In this case, Uranus is entering GeminiIf you cast the ingress chart for a planet’s ingress into a new sign, it shows the nature of what will be occurring whilst Uranus is in Gemini. It’s like the birth chart for the period that Uranus will be in Gemini. In our example, Uranus is in Gemini.

Retrograde

Uranus will enter Gemini on July 7th, 2025. It will then station retrograde and go back into. Taurus on November the 8th, 2025. Next, it will then station retrograde and re-enter Gemini on the 26th of April 2026 to remain until 2032.

Uranus-gemini-ingress-chart

Which Ingress Chart?

1st Ingress Chart

July 7th, 2025 is the day of the first ingress of Uranus into Gemini for over 80 years. Personally, I would interpret the first ingress chart as a general theme for the main expression of Uranian qualities. But technically the first ingress chart will only be in play until next April when Uranus makes the final move into Gemini.

2nd Ingress Chart

April 26th, 2026, is the day of the second ingress of Uranus into Gemini for this sign change period. Technically, the second ingress chart in April 2026 will also give some indication of how Uranus will be whilst it passes through Gemini. I like to do a bit of a combination of both, although I do prefer the initial ingress chart which shows the first potential that Uranus has when it enters Gemini.

Research

As an aspiring astrologer, it’s a good thing to do your own research. When the outer planets make these big sign shifts is the time where you could actually do your own personal research. You would cast the chart for the first ingress and then cast the chart for the second ingress and see how the potentials hard baked into both charts show up over the period for which they are indicated.

Ingress Chart Period

To do this research properly you would use the first ingress chart for the next nine months until Uranus moves back into Gemini for the second time in April. Then technically from that point on, you would use the second ingress chart to indicate the nature of Uranus’ passage through the bulk of Gemini.

Time

It really is up to you. Really, how much time do you have to spend interpreting forecasting materials?

Personally, I don’t think there’s a hard and fast rule on this. I do like the initial ingress chart because that is the very first time in living memory, well my memory anyway, that I will experience Uranus in the sign of the Twins, so I like to use the first chart myself.

However, if you have a great interest in Uranus or in Gemini, it makes sense for you to do some further research by using both of these two charts. You could share your information with us a few years down the line when you have decided which one of the two ingress charts more closely reflected what actually unfolded whilst Uranus was in Gemini.

First Ingress Chart

Zero Aries

I’ve set the ingress chart on the zero Aries house system. This means that Aries is on the Ascendant and every house is 30° long.

Aspects Neutral

Uranus is conjoined Venus

Venus is conjoined Uranus in the ingress chart.

Aspect Hard

Uranus is opposition the Moon

The fast-moving Moon is in Sagittarius.

Uranus is semi-square Sun

The Sun recently passed the summer solstice (June21st) and is in Cancer.

Aspects Soft

Uranus Trine Pluto

Interestingly, Uranus has moved further ahead of Pluto and is now at the trine aspect. This synodic cycle is sourced way back in the 1960s at the conjunction between Uranus and Pluto. If you recall, we all experienced the seven-hit square between Uranus and Pluto around 2012. Now as Uranus has moved into a soft air trine with Pluto, things should ease up for people who were born in the 1960s and have the conjunction in their natal charts.

Uranus sextiles Saturn and Neptune

Note that both Saturn and Neptune are conjoined in Aries.

Outer Soft Aspects

These three soft aspects are very interesting because they will be in orb for quite a long period during the summer of 2025. They will pop up in your main transit information for June, July and August as background energies.

Cosmic Force

As astrologers, we do pay attention to outer planet sign changes. When Uranus, Neptune and Pluto change signs as all three have done recently, it shifts the backdrop, or background noise, to all our astrology work. The Uranus ingress into Gemini is no exception. During 2025 and 2026, we’re going to be paying a lot more attention to what unfolds as “The Awakener” moves through the sign of the Twins.

Pluto Aspects

This time, we’re taking a look at one of astrology’s most powerful (and often underestimated) forces: PlutoWhen Pluto makes aspects to other planets in a natal chart, it signals areas of deep transformation, personal empowerment and possibly soulful evolution. These connections, or aspects, reveal where we are challenged, where we ultimately will grow, and where our hidden strengths can be uncovered over time.

Pluto Links

There is likely to be some intense emotional healing, rebirth after setbacks, or uncovering inner power as Pluto aspects can shape a lifetime of renewal. In this article, I break down what it means when Pluto links up with the planets to help you better understand the subtle, but profound influence this cosmic force has in every chart. So, if you’re ready to explore themes of transformation, power and soul-deep insight, keep reading. Pluto may be small, but its message is mighty. Remember, dynamite comes in small packages.

Podcast

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about Pluto’s aspects. Listen to our Pluto Aspects podcast here.

Aspects to Pluto

Aspects to Pluto in a Natal Chart

Pluto’s energy in the birth chart is powerful, transformative and often subtle at first, but make no mistake, it can have a profound impact over time. When Pluto forms aspects to other planets or points in your chart, it shows where deep change, personal empowerment and psychological growth are most likely to occur.

Evolution

These aspects often reveal hidden strengths or unconscious patterns. Understanding them can help you, as an astrologer, identify areas where your client may evolve through their life’s challenges, crises or inner realizations.

What Pluto Aspects Bring

Themes

Pluto aspects bring a range of themes including:

  • Transformation and renewal
  • Power dynamics and control
  • Psychological insight and healing
  • Cycles of death and rebirth (symbolically speaking)
  • Obsession, intensity and inner strength

Types of Pluto Aspects

Neutral: Conjunctions

When Pluto is conjunct another planet, the two energies merge. The Pluto influence intensifies the other planet’s expression. The house becomes a focus as well. This is often a major signature in the chart, especially if it happens with a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars). The person may experience repeated cycles of death and rebirth in that area of life.

Hard: Squares and Oppositions

The hard, oppositions and squares are the challenging aspects. They can point to control issues, resistance to change, or emotional intensity that must be worked through somehow. They often involve outside forces that push the person to grow. These aspects can be difficult in youth but tend to bring strength and resilience later in life.

Soft: Trines and Sextiles

The soft aspects bring easier access to Pluto’s gifts. The person may have a natural ability to regenerate, transform or be able to go deep in the area where the aspect lands. These flowing connections often show an ability to navigate life’s ups and downs with inner strength.

Pluto in Aspect to the Planets

Sun and Pluto

When the Sun and Pluto are in aspect your identity is transformed through power, crisis or rebirth. A strong will and a desire for self-mastery are present in any chart with this combination.

Moon and Pluto

Typically, emotions run deep as the Moon contacts Pluto. There may be intense early experiences that shape emotional responses. Anticipate the potential for deep and sometimes painful emotional healing.

Mercury and Pluto

The pairing of Mercury and Pluto indicates that the person’s mind is probing and insightful. They may be a natural researcher or truth-seeker, drawn to what lies beneath the surface.

Venus and Pluto

Often love and values are intense when Venus and Pluto pair up. Relationships can be deeply transformative, sometimes obsessive, or possibly healing.

Mars and Pluto

These two planets, Mars and Pluto, draw together energy that is both driven and determined. The person whose chart this may have a powerful will and must learn to channel energy constructively.

Jupiter and Pluto

Expect some expansion through transformation themes in any chart with Jupiter and Pluto aspects. There may be a drive to influence others, a strong belief system or powerful personal growth.

Saturn and Pluto

This pairing suggests the person has deep endurance and the capacity to rebuild their life after setbacks. There is a theme of structure that meets transformation when Saturn aspects Pluto.

As An Astrologer…

Pluto and Upheaval

As an astrologer, pay attention to Pluto’s aspects as they will help you to identify where your client may go through significant internal upheavals in their lives. These dynamic Pluto aspects are often linked to karmic themes, soul-level evolution and hidden strengths which can emerge and bubble up over time. Although you might not start your client’s chart interpretation with Pluto, make sure not to overlook our favorite dwarf planet. In any chart, Pluto’s story is often one of the most profound ones.

Overarch

Cosmic Force

Pluto is one of those cosmic forces that’s hard to ignore. In a birth chart, its energy shows up through the aspects it makes with other planets and key points like the Ascendant, Midheaven and the Lunar Nodes.

Fathom Pluto

While Pluto might not be the first planet you focus on when reading a chart, it definitely deserves your attention. If you take the time to understand Pluto’s message it can offer deep insights and it’s a powerful tool for any astrologer.

Dig Deeper

If you’re not too familiar with Pluto and how it influences a chart, consider digging in deeper over the next few months. There’s so much to discover about this mysterious and transformative planet.

Podcast

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I chat about Saturn almost conjoining Neptune this year and actually doing so in 2026.

Listen to our Saturn conjoining Neptune podcast here.

saturn-neptune

Close Encounter

Orbs Matter

On July 15th, 2025, Saturn moves tantalisingly close to Neptune, but it doesn’t quite make the conjunction. At this point, the orb between the pair squeaks in at 0°12′. Afterwards Saturn, moving retrograde, quickly moves away from Neptune thus widening the orb.

Synodic Chart

Cycle Beginning

Synodic cycles begin when any two planets conjoin. For example, every month when the Moon comes round to the Sun, we get the Moon / Sun new synodic cycle starting. When the superior planets conjoin each other, it carries more weight globally and historically because they have far longer cycles, which is quite interesting as well. The synodic cycle between Saturn and Neptune is typically around 36 years.

Calculation

I have cast the synodic chart for the exact moment that Saturn conjoins Neptune in February 2026. We can have a look at the main features of this chart to see some themes which we can anticipate unfolding as Saturn conjoins Neptune.

Neutral Aspects

Saturn conjoined Neptune at 0° 45′ AriesAlso note they have the aspect of declination of the parallel, so this is a double-whammy conjunction.

Soft Aspects

Interestingly enough, with the conjunction between Saturn and Neptune there are only soft Ptolemaic aspects. The two easy aspects are a sextile Uranus and a sextile Pluto. Additionally, the chart does contain a mini-grand trine between Uranus trine Pluto and the Saturn Neptune conjunction.

Hard Aspects

There are no hard aspects to the Saturn Neptune conjunction.

Minor Aspects

I would also note that there is a minor aspect, a semi-sextile, from the Saturn Neptune conjunction to the Sun. This may or may not have some influence on this cycle.

The 9th House

Influence

Unbelievably, this is going to be the final house in our houses series and it’s the 9th house. This is a succedent house and what this means if you have planets there, they are waiting to be used. In general, this is not a house that steps forward for you, you have to consciously work the energies in it.

The 9th house is one that you tend to get around to eventually after you’ve dealt with the four angular houses of the 1st (self), the 7th (partner), the 4th (home) and the 10th (career). It’s a bit like moving up on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs pyramid. When you got all that angular house stuff sorted out, you move on to other houses and then you may get around to the 9th house.

Affinities of the Ninth House

Expansion

The ninth house in astrology is all about expansion in many areas like expansion of the mind, the spirit, and your place in the world. It governs higher education, including all adult or tertiary learning that happens at colleges, universities, or through other advanced studies. Any time you earn a diploma, degree, or deepen your understanding of the world through formal education, you’re engaging with ninth house energy.

Legal Matters

This house is also connected to legal matters, particularly those involving judges or higher courts. When you stand before a judge or seek justice in a formal setting, that’s a ninth house experience. It’s not about everyday law enforcement, but the broader systems of law and moral judgment.

Faith

Spiritually, the ninth house rules religion, faith, and how you relate to a higher power. It reflects your beliefs about God or the universe, whether you stay within one tradition or explore different spiritual paths over time. If you’ve changed religions or blended different beliefs, the ninth house will often show that.

Publishing

In the realm of communication, the ninth house rules publishing, whether through traditional means, self-publishing, or working with literary agents. It’s also associated with broadcasting, promotion, and getting your message out to a wide audience.

Travel

Travel falls under the ninth house too, especially long-distance or international travel. Historically, this meant any journey beyond what a horse could ride in a day. Today, it includes all forms of extended travel—by train (earth), airplane (air), ship (water), and even adventurous ways like hot-air balloons (fire). This house opens you to global cultures, foreign languages, and everything cosmopolitan. It’s about widening your worldview.

Life Journey

At its heart, the ninth house speaks to your life’s journey including physically, mentally and spiritually. It reflects your vision for the future, your philosophical outlook, and what gives your life meaning. It points to the direction you’re heading in, not just on a map, but in your soul.

1st House

In astrology, the first house is one of the most important houses in your chart, if not the most important house. It’s one that we all use because we all project our personalities. The 1st house is different to the 10th house because it expresses who you are when you meet people face to face, which is different to the 10th house which tends to show what you are known for by people who perhaps haven’t even met you yet. If you want to start learning about houses, you will want to probably learn the first house initially to find out more about who you are and who you project. It does express a lot of that energy, particularly if you’ve got planets tenanting as well.

The general, I like to view the 1st house and the Ascendant as your personality, the Sun as your character, and the Moonas your behavior. You can find out more about my thoughts on the astrological big three concept.

1st House Core Themes

First Principles

The 1st house in astrology is one of the, if not the, most important parts of a birth chart. It’s like the front door to your personality. It expresses just how you show up in the world.

Physical Body

The first house in astrology is deeply connected to your physical body and outer identity. It represents your appearance and things like your facial features, skin tone, height, posture, and the way you move through the world. You can think of it as your personal “vehicle” and the physical and energetic container that carries you through life.

Your Birth

This house also reflects the moment of your birth, offering insight into the conditions surrounding your entry into the world. This includes how you came into being and what was happening around you at that time.

First Impressions

“There’s never a second chance to make a first impression” is your 1st house. It’s strongly linked to the first impression you make on others. This shows up in how people perceive you straight away. It’s your vibe and what people notice about you when they first meet you. It’s often linked to your appearance, looks, style, gait and body language.

Aura

Additionally, it includes your aura or energetic presence, especially for those sensitive to energy. Often, the color and quality of your aura can be associated with the zodiac sign on your Ascendant (the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth). Your aura can be modified by any planets closely aligned with this point.

Personality

The first house also gives us clues about your personality style and how you express yourself naturally, your instinctive approach to life. It shows what kind of personal space you tend to need to feel comfortable. Some people radiate openness, while others naturally create a sense of boundary or privacy and the first house can help explain why.

Vitality

On a more physical level, this house relates to your vitality and life force. The 1st house rules your physical body and general health. It doesn’t go into deep medical details, but it hints at your energy levels and how you carry yourself physically. It can show your resilience and how quickly you bounce back from physical or emotional challenges. When strong and well-supported, the first house often reflects good energy, enthusiasm for life and the ability to recover quickly.

Planets in the 1st House

Planetary Energies

Any planet in the 1st house will modify your appearance and personality in the nature of said planet. The more planets you have in the 1st house the more complex the energies and so the outcomes will be. Typically, one planet will be better placed than the others, but not always. Any planet which is the chart ruler, is the most elevated planet or has the highest essential dignity will be more impactful in the 1st house. Planets near the cusp are more likely to be influential than planets at the end of the house and near the 2nd house cusp.

Retrograde

Any 1st house planets which are retrograde will probably at first be reduced, but as those planet turn retrograde by transit each year you will resist the challenges of the retrograde period somewhat.

Sun in the 1st House

Confident and Proactive

When the Sun shines in your 1st house, your sense of self is strong and radiant. You naturally take initiative and prefer to lead rather than follow. Your physical presence is hard to miss and you carry yourself with confidence and warmth. There’s a natural desire to express who you are and be recognized for it.

Moon in the 1st House

Emotionally Expressive and Sensitive

With the Moon here, your emotions are close to the surface and often show on your face. You instinctively seek connection and may feel fulfilled when others need you. Nurturing comes easily, and people may find you comforting and approachable. Your mood can be quite changeable, but your emotional presence is deeply felt.

Mercury in the 1st House

Quick-Witted and Self-Aware

Mercury here makes you mentally alert and expressive. You think quickly and often about your own role in the world. You’re likely very curious and enjoy talking, learning and sharing ideas and especially about things that relate to you personally. Your words carry weight and people may easily notice how articulate and clever you are.

Venus in the 1st House

Charming and Graceful

With Venus in your 1st house, there is an undeniable charm and a natural beauty and style about you. Whether it’s your appearance, your manners, or your sense of style, people are drawn to your warmth and elegance. You tend to value harmony and may go out of your way to be pleasant and diplomatic.

Mars in the 1st House

Driven and Assertive

Mars gives you a fiery edge when it is in the 1st house. You have a strong will and are naturally competitive. With Mars energy prominent in the 1st house, you like to be first in line, first in the race and first in life. Action is your language, and you often dive headfirst into new challenges. There is courage, vitality and sometimes a reddish tinge to your aura, though you may need to watch out for impatience or impulsiveness.

Jupiter in the 1st House

Expansive and Optimistic

Jupiter here shows you have a big personality. You will typically have a generous spirit, an optimistic outlook and an infectious enthusiasm. When Jupiter is in the 1st house you may easily come across as larger than life, both in energy and sometimes in body and there can be a tendency to overindulge. Your positive outlook and genuine warmth are uplifting to those around you.

Saturn in the 1st House

Mature and Reserved

Saturn in the 1st house can bring a serious or stoic vibe to your personality. Additionally, you may appear older than you are, either in looks or in demeanor. There is a quiet strength in your presence. People often trust you to be responsible and grounded. Life may ask you to grow up quickly, but you will often become wiser through the experience.

Uranus in the 1st House

Independent and Original

With quirky Uranus in the 1st house, you will walk your own path and you rarely fit into a box. Uranus here makes you stand out and sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes boldly. You may feel different or unique. You tend to express that uniqueness unapologetically and somewhat in people’s faces. Others see you as innovative and surprising, or refreshingly authentic.

Neptune in the 1st House

Dreamy and Mysterious

Neptune gives you an ethereal quality, making you seem elusive or hard to define. Others may project fantasies or ideals onto you, and you might need strong boundaries to stay grounded. There is a deep sensitivity and a spiritual undertone to your presence. You are often empathetic, imaginative and artistic.

Pluto in the 1st House

Intense and Transformative

Pluto brings a powerful presence. People can sense that there’s more to you than meets the eye. You may have gone through significant personal transformations, and your journey often includes themes of empowerment and rebirth. Others may find you magnetic, mysterious, or even intimidating, but always unforgettable.

Chiron in the 1st House

Vulnerable and Healing

Chiron here highlights a deep awareness of your own physical or personal vulnerabilities. You may have felt different or “wounded” in some way when it comes to how you appear or assert yourself. Yet this placement also gives you the potential to become a healer and someone who understands pain and helps others grow through theirs.

Direct Forecasting

1st House Transits

When planets transit your 1st house, they temporarily activate the 1st house themes in your life. The more planets that transit at once the more complex the likely outcomes are. Typically, the Sun, Mercury and Venus will pass through your 1st house close together each year around the same time.

Sun Transiting the First House

As the Sun crosses you Ascendant and enters your 1st house this is your personal solar new year. You step from the dark of the 12th house into the light of the 1st house. It’s like having a spotlight on you personally and your confidence may increase. This is a powerful time to focus on your goals, refresh your image and make a strong first impression. You are more self-aware, assertive and ready to take the lead.

Moon Transiting the First House

When the Moon transits your 1st house each month for about two and a half days, emotions can easily rise to the surface and you might feel more sensitive than usual. It is a good time to slow down and care for yourself. You are more in tune with your needs and you could find yourself seeking comfort and connection. This brief transit offers a moment to check in with your heart.

Mercury Transiting the First House

Your mind is active and your thoughts are centered around yourself and your identity when Mercury transit your 1st house. You may feel like expressing yourself more clearly and openly. This is a great time for writing, speaking, or initiating conversations. Your curiosity is heightened, and your words carry influence.

Venus Transiting the First House

Your presence becomes more appealing and you may feel more at ease with yourself. As Venus transits your 1st house, others are likely drawn to your warmth and charm. This is a lovely time to beautify your appearance, strengthen relationships, or enjoy art and pleasure. Your desire for harmony grows.

Mars Transiting the First House

You feel energized and ready to take action when Mars transit your 1st house. This transit brings drive, motivation, and assertiveness. It is a great time to start something new or take bold steps forward. However, you may also feel more impatient or impulsive, so try to balance your energy.

Jupiter Transiting the First House

Jupiter entering your 1st house to stay for about one year is a time of growth and expansion. You may feel more optimistic and open to new opportunities. Your sense of self increases, and others may see you as more confident and generous. It is a good time to take risks or explore new paths, while keeping moderation in mind.

Saturn Transiting the First House

Saturn will take about two and a half years to pass through your 1st house. This can feel like a period of self-reflection and responsibility. You may become more aware of how you appear to others and how you carry yourself. Challenges may arise that help you build strength and discipline. Though it may feel heavy at times, this transit helps you to personally mature and develop resilience.

Uranus Transiting the First House

Unexpected changes may arise as Uranus transits your 1st house, and you may feel a strong urge to break free from old patterns. This is a time of personal awakening and experimentation. You will probably discover new ways of being and expressing your individuality. Flexibility and openness can help you embrace the changes.

Neptune Transiting the First House

You may feel more sensitive, intuitive, or spiritually inclined when Neptune enters your 1st house. Neptune will probably be in this house for about thirteen years. There can be a dreamlike quality to how others see you, and you might struggle with boundaries or clarity. It is a beautiful time to explore your imagination and inner world, but important to stay grounded in your truth.

Pluto Transiting the First House

This is a profound and transformative period when Pluto enters your 1st house. Your identity and how you present yourself to the world are undergoing deep change. Power dynamics may come into focus and you may feel more intense or private. Over time, this transit can help you reclaim your personal power and emerge stronger.

Chiron Transiting the First House

Old wounds related to your identity or physical presence may resurface, asking for healing and understanding. This transit of Chiron helps you become more compassionate with yourself and others. You are learning to honor your vulnerabilities and recognize them as part of your unique strength.

The Upside of a First House Transit

When a planet moves through your first house, it touches the very core of your personality. This part of your chart represents your sense of self, your physical presence and how you approach the world. A first house transit often indicate you will have a fresh start in the nature of the planet. You can look forward to 1st house transits as times when something intrinsically within you is being awakened, refined, or expressed more fully.

Self-rediscovery

The upside of any first house transit is the opportunity for self-rediscovery and personal empowerment. These periods invite you to reconnect with who you truly are, sometimes in bold, exciting ways, and other times through gentle, subtle shifts in how you carry yourself.

You may feel called to:

  • Step into greater authenticity: Just express your true nature without apology.
  • Refresh your self-image: Revamp how you look and feel about your true self.
  • Build confidence: Take more initiative in your life.
  • Reclaim your autonomy: Become more independent and self-directed.
  • Energize your goals: Especially ones that align with your personal desires.
  • Become more visible: Be recognized and acknowledged for exactly who you are.

1st house transits are a chance to grow more aware, alive and aligned with your inner truth. These transits can be seen as windows of time for you to set intentions, initiate change and honor the person whom you are becoming.

7th House Chart Position

Starzology Astrology Podcast

7th House Episode

Listen to our 7th house podcast episode here.

7th House

Core Themes

The 7th house stands directly opposite the 1st house of self, representing the dynamic balance between “I” and “We.” As the Descendant point in your chart, it governs how you relate to others in close, committed relationships and the mirrors they provide for your own development.

Marriage and Committed Partnerships

This house reveals your approach to marriage and committed relationships. It indicates your marriage partner’s qualities, your expectations in marriage and your natural relationship patterns. If multiple planets occupy this house, you may experience several significant relationships or marriages throughout your life. The 7th House illuminates how you balance independence and togetherness and what you seek in a life partner.

Business Partnerships

Beyond romantic bonds, the 7th house pertains to all formal business relationships. It shows how you collaborate with business partners, what qualities you seek in professional allies and your approach to shared ventures. Your business partnerships often mirror patterns in your personal relationships, as it reveals your fundamental approach to one-on-one collaborations regardless of context.

Legal Contracts and Agreements

All binding agreements fall under the 7th house’s domain. Marriage contracts, prenuptial contracts, business partnerships, legal documents and formal commitments of all kinds are shown here. This house reveals how you approach contractual obligations and whether you honor agreements naturally or rather if struggle with commitment. It shows how legal matters tend to unfold in your life.

Law and Justice

Your relationship to legal systems and justice is highlighted in this house. It shows how legal proceedings might affect you, your approach to a lawsuit if necessary and your experience with attorneys, judges and legal institutions. The 7th house can indicate whether legal matters will feature prominently in your life journey.

Open Enemies and Adversaries

Traditionally known as the house of “open enemies,” the 7th house reveals those who openly oppose you, unlike the 12th House’s hidden enemies. 7th house adversaries are those ones which you are aware of, such as opposing parties in lawsuits, business competitors, or ex-partners and spouses in contentious divorces. Your approach to conflict and competition is illuminated here.

Public Relations

As the first fully public house in the chart above the horizon, the 7th house oversees your interactions with the general public. It shows how you present yourself in public relationships, how others perceive you in one-on-one interactions. Your approach to business networking, client relationships and public persona all fall under this house’s influence.

Projection and Shadow Work

Psychologically, the 7th House represents projection which are qualities you may not recognize in yourself that you attribute to (or seek in) partners. These projections often show your own shadow material or undeveloped aspects of yourself. The challenges that consistently arise in your partnerships frequently reflect internal qualities which you are being called upon to integrate.

Planets in the 7th House

When planets tenant your 7th house, they color your experience of partnerships and public relations in ways in the nature of the particular planet.

Sun in the 7th House

You shine most brightly through your partnerships and when in a one-on-one relationship. Your identity is closely tied to being a partner and you naturally vitalize and energize your significant others. You seek recognition through your partnerships and may be drawn to prominent or notable partners who enhance your visibility. Leadership within partnerships comes naturally to you, though you must be careful not to overshadow your partners by being bossy. You will likely find your purpose through the balance of self and other.

Moon in the 7th House

Your emotional needs are probably fulfilled through partnerships and you nurture your relationships with intuitive understanding.  You are emotionally sensitive to your partners’ needs and moods, creating deep bonds through emotional support. You particularly benefit from partnerships with women or with partners who embody feminine qualities. Security needs are often met through committed relationships and your partnerships tend to have a family-like quality. Your relationships fluctuate with your emotional cycles and moods and you require a partner who understand your changing needs.

Mercury in the 7th House

Communication is central to your relationships and you process your experiences through discussion with partners. You are most likely to be attracted to intellectually stimulating partners and you thrive on conversation within relationships. Probably legal matters and contracts may feature prominently in your life, requiring clear communication. You may serve as a go-between, mediator or messenger amid opposing parties, as you naturally understand multiple perspectives. Partnership decisions are made rationally and you like top discuss things thoroughly before making a commitment.

Venus in the 7th House

Relationships and partnerships are sources of pleasure and harmony in your life. You will probably marry for love rather than convenience or social status and you value beauty and balance in your relationships. Being naturally diplomatic in partnerships and public relations you seek win-win solutions at all times. Artistic collaborations may feature prominently in your life. You attract partners easily with your charm and seek affiliations which enhance aesthetic enjoyment and comfort. Your relationships tend to be graceful and harmonious, though you perhaps could be careful not to avoid necessary conflict.

Mars in the 7th House

You bring energy and initiative to your partnerships, actively pursuing potential partners rather than waiting passively for them to find you. Relationships in general, may involve healthy competition or passionate debates. Conflicts arise readily in partnerships as you assert your will, but these can often lead to growth if managed constructively. It is likely that you will defend your partners fiercely and you fight for relationship justice. Legal battles may feature in your life experience as you are willing to stand your ground. Partnerships energize rather than drain you, but passive partners may frustrate your need for engagement.

Jupiter in the 7th House

You will typically experience expansion, growth and good fortune through your partnerships. Your marriages and business partnerships tend to be beneficial and they may bring social or financial advantages for you. You are generous with your partners and you expect the same from them in return. International connections or cross-cultural relationships may feature prominently in your life. You see the best in potential partners always looking for “marriage-material.” Your optimistic approach to relationships helps you to weather difficulties, though you may need to temper expectations with realism sometimes.

Saturn in the 7th House

You approach partnerships with seriousness, responsibility and commitment. Marriage may only come to later in life after careful consideration and typically after the age of 30, but it tends to be enduring once established. You may experience restrictions or limitations through some partnerships, but also valuable life lessons. Business partnerships do require clear boundaries and hard defined expectations to succeed. You wisely are cautious about any legal commitments and carefully review all contracts. With maturity, you may develop the capacity for deeply committed, lasting relationships built on mutual respect and shared goals.

Uranus in the 7th House

You seek freedom, independence and unconventional arrangements within your partnerships. Traditional marriage structures may feel restrictive, leading you to create alternative bond models. Partners may be unusual, progressive, or from different backgrounds than expected. Relationships may begin or end suddenly and bring unexpected changes into your life. You value intellectual stimulation and friendship within your romantic partnerships. Typically, innovation in business partnerships allows you to express your unique approach to collaboration while maintaining your necessary independence.

Neptune in the 7th House

In general, your partnerships have a dreamy, idealistic quality that can be both inspiring and challenging. You may idealize your partners initially and then sadly experience disillusionment as reality emerges. Boundaries in relationships tend to be fluid and require conscious effort on your part to maintain a healthy separation. Partners may drift in and out of your life, or serious relationships could evolve in ways that defy conventional definitions. You are easily attracted to spiritual or artistic partners and you may form soul connections which transcend ordinary relationship categories. Partnership dissolution may happen gradually rather than through a clear ending.

Pluto in the 7th House

Your partnerships will always involve profound transformation, power dynamics and deep psychological connections. You commit intensely to special partners and create bonds that are difficult to break even when necessary. Relationship experiences may involve an ongoing psychological death and rebirth as you evolve through partnerships. You may attract partners who catalyze profound change in your life or those people who urge you to confront your shadows. On the upside, power struggles in relationships provide opportunities for growth if approached consciously. Business partnerships will usually involve high stakes and may completely transform your professional identity.

Chiron in the 7th House

Your partnerships activate the typical Chironic themes of both wounding and healing potentials in your life. You may be drawn to partners who need healing or who help you heal your own relationship wounds. There is often a teacher-student or mentor-protégé dynamic in your significant relationships, though roles may alternate over time. Typically, you will have natural insight into relationship dynamics and you may guide others through their own partnership challenges. Past relationship pain is likely to become the source of your greatest relationship wisdom over time. The healing journey that you are on, through partnerships, is a central theme in your life purpose.

Forecasting

7th House Transits

When planets transit your 7th House, they temporarily activate the 7th house themes in your life like:

  • Significant relationship beginnings or endings may occur.
  • Legal matters or contract negotiations might arise.
  • Business partnership opportunities or challenges emerge.
  • Your focus shifts from personal concerns to relationship dynamics.
  • Public visibility increases and interactions with others intensify.
  • You’re called to balance self-interest with consideration of others’ needs.

Balancing 7th House Energy

Not every 7th house is going to be as important as the next persons natal 7th house. You need to make a judgment regarding the energy levels of the 7th house. If there are many planets in the 7th house (3 or more), then it is highly emphasized. If the planetary house ruler (the planet that rules the sign on the cusp of the 7th house) is an important planet within the chart and here I’m talking about planets like the chart ruler, the Sun, Moon or Venus, then the 7th house will be slightly emphasized. If there are no planets in the 7th house, then this house is not emphasized.

Overemphasized 7th House

You may lose yourself in relationships and define yourself primarily through partnerships, or depend excessively on others’ validation.

Underemphasized 7th House

You might struggle with commitment, avoid legal obligations, or miss the growth opportunities that could come your way through deep partnership.

Find Balance

Cultivate self-awareness and independence (1st house qualities) while remaining open to the mirrors and growth opportunities provided by in any meaningful committed relationships. Recognize that healthy partnerships enhance rather than diminish your authentic self.

Cornerstone

The 7th house is it is one of the cornerstone houses of chart interpretation. Every human is hardwired to seek out a mate and to build a relationship somehow. This strong urge that we all have is expressed through your 7th house where meaningful relationships will come to you in your lifetime.

Understanding the 4th House and Astrology

I believe that knowing a little astrology is a benefit to everyone. Not everyone needs to go on to be a professional astrology, but if you have some insights into people through astrology it helps you with your relationships in life. And really, the way to get through life is to build relationships with people which this is done by often by finding common ground or participating in activities that interest you both.

Back in the Day

It used to be advised that if you wanted to find your husband or wife, you needed to have someone with common interests to you, who came from a similar background, because then things didn’t need explaining. We are now living where you’ve got your nuclear family unit of people fragmented across the globe, living in places where they didn’t grow up and they often have to immerse themselves in cultures that are often perplexing. The ability to understand people is a huge benefit. You can understand people a lot better if you know a little bit about astrology, even if you just start with their Sun sign, then move onto their Moon sign and perhaps their Ascendant sign. Even with these three components, (Ascendant, Sun and Moon) you can get an understanding of people that may overcome the difficulties of fragmented families and people living far away from their homeland.

Immigrants

As an immigrant myself, I know this is not easy. I left my hometown at the age of 12 and I’ve not lived in that country since. So everywhere I go, I am perceived as the immigrant, the person who is not from here, the person who is new. Even today I get asked in shops, “Oh, are you on vacation? Are you visiting here?” and I can calmly say, “Well no, actually I’ve lived here for 25 years” but the perception is still there. For those of you who are immigrants, or living in the place where you didn’t grow up, you will understand what I’m talking about with the cultural differences that occur even in English speaking countries.

Adaptation

Many of you will have to adapt to fit into the current culture of where you’re living now. All of these things have to do with the 4th house in astrology. It does represent where you came from, your roots, your ancestry, your family, and your cultural heritage, and your relationship with these symbols and traditions.

Homebody

Alternatively, if you are someone who has stayed in the place where you grew up and haven’t moved from your city, culture or family background, and you still have a vast family surrounding you, you will have a different experience altogether of your 4th house.

Foundations

In astrology, it’s important to understand, when reading charts for your family, friends or clients, that the foundations that they are standing on, i.e. their 4th house, may have shifted dramatically from the time they were born. An exploration of this important house is always a good starting point when reading someone’s chart. Arwynne and I have recorded a podcast about the 4th house for you which you can listen to hereAlternatively, the podcast now is uploaded onto the Starzology YouTube channel as well, as an “audio only” video.

Let’s get started.

4th House Podcast

4th House Core Themes

The 4th House represents the most intimate foundations of your life. It’s the deepest part of your chart—the midnight point—symbolizing your private world, what grounds you and your innermost sense of belonging.

Home and Physical Dwelling

Your relationship to physical spaces manifests here—houses, apartments and all places you call home. This includes real estate investments, property ownership and even temporary dwellings like camper vans, mobile homes and caravans. The 4th House reveals what “home” means to you personally and what environments help you feel secure.

Family and Domestic Life

This house governs your family dynamics, both chosen and biological. It reveals your relationship with family members who share your living space, including non-blood relatives who function as family. Your domestic habits, private routines and the emotional atmosphere you create within your home all fall under the 4th House’s domain.

Parental Influence

Traditionally associated with the “passive parent” (historically the father in patriarchal systems, though modern interpretations vary), this house reflects parental influences that shaped your sense of security and belonging. It can reveal patterns inherited from childhood and how they affect your adult concept of home.

Ancestry and Roots

Your heritage, cultural background and ancestral lineage are illuminated here. The 4th House connects you to your roots—showing how your family history, cultural traditions and generational patterns influence your identity and sense of belonging in the world.

Homeland and Patriotism

Your relationship to your country of origin, feelings of patriotism and sense of national identity are 4th House matters. This includes your connection to your homeland’s symbols (like flags), traditions and cultural expressions.

Foundations and Origins

This house represents the foundation upon which you build your life. It reveals your origins—both literally and metaphorically—and shows what grounds you. Your early conditioning, childhood experiences and the emotional baseline you operate from throughout life are reflected here.

Life’s End and Legacy

As the lowest point in the chart, the 4th House paradoxically represents both beginnings and endings. It governs your final years, how you conclude your life journey and what you leave behind. Your relationship to ancestry and legacy connects to how you’ll be remembered after you’re gone.

Planets in the 4th House

When planets occupy your 4th House, they color your experience of home, family and foundations in specific ways:

The Sun

You define yourself through your family connections and home life. Your identity is intertwined with your roots and you take pride in your heritage. Family relationships are central to your sense of purpose and you likely put family needs first. Leadership within the family unit comes naturally to you.

The Moon

11th House

We’re continuing on about house and this time with the 11th house, a succedent house,  in your chart. You can find out more about houses in general here.

The 11th House

Themes

The 11th house in your birth chart broadly shows your social life, friendships, group associations and aspirations. This area of life represents your role within society and the connections you build throughout your life. To understand the different areas of the 11th house can provide you with some insight into how you interact with the world and the types of people who surround you.

The 11th House Cusp

The sign on the cusp of your 11th house reveals how you approach friendships, social circles, and networking. The ruling planet of this sign (the house ruler) gives further insight into how you engage with groups, organizations, and society at large. If the sign on the cusp has planets and the next sign as well, there will be differences in each planet’s expression in line with their sign, even though they are both in the same house. If the house ruler is in the house, it gains strength and influence.

Planets in the 11th House

Planets found in the 11th house influence the nature of your social interactions and the types of people you attract.

For example:

  • The Sun here indicates a leadership role in groups.
  • The Moon suggests emotionally supportive friendships.
  • Mercury brings intellectual connections and networking skills.
  • Venus attracts harmonious relationships and artistic associations.
  • Mars indicates dynamic and energetic social involvement.
  • Jupiter expands your network, making you popular or influential.
  • Saturn may bring responsibilities within groups or challenges in friendships.

Planets

When planets transit your 11th house, they stimulate you to seek out friends in the nature of the planet. Multiple transits suggest you will have a busy social life for that period when the planet is in transit. Discover more about the people in your houses.

Friends and Social Circles

Close Friends

The 11th house represents the core and sometimes lifelong friendships that shape your life. These can be long-term companions or people who share your aspirations.

Online Friends

Social media connections, such as those on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, also fall under the domain of the 11th house as “friends”. Personally, my definition of a friend is someone who has seen you in your bare feet.

Professional Associates

Professional colleagues are here too. People you engage with professionally, whether for networking, collaborations, or shared projects are shown in your 11th house.

Collaborators

Anyone with whom you collaborate, or get together with for a purpose, can be seen in your 11th house.

The Collective

This house represents your relationship with society as a whole and your contribution to the greater good.

Social Groups and Communities

Social Butterfly

If you have prominent placements in the 11th house, you may find yourself at the center of various social gatherings. It is likely there is one group per planets so some people will be more socially active than others.

Common Interest Groups

Clubs and organizations based on shared passions, such as photography, astrology, or gaming are shown here.

Book Clubs

Literature-based social gatherings align with the 11th house themes of shared learning and intellectual exchange.

Teammates

If you participate in team sports, like hockey or football, your teammates are reflected here.

Troupes or Performing Groups

If you are part of a dance troupe, theater company, or musical band, they, and the people in them, are represented in your 11th house.

Business and Financial Networks

Income from Business

If you have your own business (10th house), and particularly one you started yourself, the financial returns from that venture are typically reflected in your 11th house.

Professional Networks

Platforms like LinkedIn and industry-specific networking groups, like Meetups, also fall under the 11th house. Actually Arwynne (my podcast co-host) and I met in a Meetup group for astrology which I had started in the city.

Sunsetting the Paid Starzlife Newsletter

Sunsetting the Starzlife Paid Newsletter

Thursday Edition

After nearly a year, I’ve decided to sunset the Starzlife paid newsletter. This means the free Starzology newsletter will continue to go out every Sunday, but the exclusive Thursday edition for paid subscribers will be discontinued.

Challenges

Managing the monthly payment process has been more challenging and time-consuming than I anticipated. Issues with credit card expirations, CAD vs USD vs Euro currencies, payment processing, and other snafus have made it difficult for me to maintain it smoothly.

Future

Looking ahead, if I decide to reintroduce a paid newsletter, it will likely be offered as a one-time purchase. This would allow subscribers to receive premium content without the hassle of ongoing monthly payments. Instead, new subscribers would start receiving the emails from the point they join, making the process much simpler for everyone.

Thank You

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who supported this venture. Your enthusiasm and kind messages have meant so much to me. While this chapter is closing, I truly appreciate those who found value in Starzlife and took the time to share their feedback.

Questions and Refunds

If you have any questions, including refund inquiries, please feel free to email me at starzology@gmail.com. I’m happy to provide further clarification and my phone nunber if you need to chat.

Thank you for being part of this journey!

Warmly,

Saturn in Aries

Saturn in Aries

Author: Alison Price   –   Published: March 2025

Introduction

This year, 2025, there are, and will be, some major shifts of the superior planets as they ingress or enter new signs

This is unusual and most years not much happens apart from Jupiter changing signs which occurs every year.

2024/2025

Podcast

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I have a lively conversation about the upsomong super important ingress of Saturn into Aries. Saturn was last in Aries way back in 1999.

A Bold New Cycle (2025-2028)

In 2025, Saturn enters Aries on May 25th, to mark the beginning of a dynamic new cycle. Saturn will cross over the beginning of the zodiac at 0° Aries. And for those of you following along, you will realize that Saturn will be conjoining Neptune as it too recently entered Aries. I’ll talk more on that massive conjunction later this year. Saturn is not always bad news, but it does get a bad rap as the greater malefic, so for some perspective on this energy you colud read how Saturn transit can improve your life.

Aries-Pisces Cusp: Key Dates

Saturn will linger at the cusp of Aries and Pisces for a few months before committing fully to Aries.

  • May 25, 2025: Saturn leaves Pisces and enters Aries for the first time.
  • September 1, 2025: Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces from Aries.
  • February 14, 2026: Saturn re-enters Aries from Pisces, now for the long haul, and remains in the cardinal, fire sign until April 2028.

Saturn Overview

Saturn is the masterful, responsible and disciplined planet which pays attention to time and is in it (whatever it is) for the long haul.

Aries Overview

Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is all about action, leadership and initiation.

Energy Shift

With Saturn, the planet of discipline and structure, entering this fiery, independent sign, you can expect a shift from dreamy, emotional Pisces energy into a period of bold decision-making, self-reliance and new challenges.

Saturn-purple

Saturn in Aries Main Themes

Building Self-discipline

Saturn in Aries is about building your self-discipline, taking responsibility for your personal actions and learning to channel your ambition wisely.

Sprint or Marathon?

Aries thrives on impulse and speed, but Saturn demands time, diligence, patience and long-term planning. The challenge of this combination is to balance the desire to charge ahead with the need for persistence and endurance.

Personal Responsibility

Owning Your Path

With Saturn in Aries, the focus is on self-reliance and personal accountability. This transit pushes people to stop waiting for permission, guidance, or external validation. Instead, it demands a shift toward independence, initiative and self-mastery. People will feel the call to take charge of their lives, set personal goals and actively work toward them, rather than simply relying on others to pave the way. Procrastination and passivity (Pisces) will no longer be tolerated, as Saturn enforces the lesson that true growth comes from taking responsibility for one’s actions, decisions and long-term ambitions.

Discipline in Action

Channeling Energy with Purpose

Aries is known for its boldness, enthusiasm and fearless action, but when Saturn enters this fire sign, it leans towards focus and discipline. This two-and-a-half-year period will teach you the importance of thoughtful action over reckless impulsivity. Instead of rushing into things without a plan, you will be encouraged to develop strategies, refine your skills and commit to some independent long-term goals. The key lesson is mastering sustained effort and perseverance to learn that success isn’t just about starting strong, but it is also about staying the course and seeing things through to completion.

New Beginnings with Challenges

Pioneering with Persistence

Saturn in Aries offers you opportunities for fresh starts, new ventures and pioneering breakthroughs, but not without obstacles. This transit isn’t about easy victories; instead, it tests resilience and determination by placing hurdles in the way of progress. Those people willing to push past resistance, learn from setbacks and adapt to challenges will emerge stronger and more capable by the end of this transit. Perhaps you are launching a new business, starting a leadership role, or breaking into uncharted territory, and if so this period will likely teach you that true innovation requires patience, problem-solving and endurance.

Courage Under Pressure

Strength in Adversity

Aries naturally thrives in high-pressure situations, but with good old Saturn in the mix, the challenge is about maintaining courage and confidence even when the odds seem stacked against you. This time frame will teach how to build inner strength, stay grounded under stress and make calculated decisions in difficult moments, but only if you are paying attention. Now you can expect life to test your limits, demand resilience and require you to have the ability to handle setbacks with wisdom. Those people who learn to navigate tough situations with a clear mind, steady heart and strategic mindset now will emerge as true warriors of their destiny. Make sure you are one of them and lean into this transit.

Redefining Leadership

Responsibility Over Ego

Saturn in Aries will shake up traditional leadership structures, to challeng outdated authority figures and force a reassessment of what it truly means to lead. We will see this on the global stage. This transit will reward those people who lead with integrity, courage and responsibility, rather than ego, dominance, or self-interest. It is likely that authentic leaders will rise, while those who abuse power or lack accountability may struggle to maintain their positions. Individuals will be called to step up, take initiative and embody leadership in their own lives, whether in their careers, communities, or in their personal relationships. True leadership will be defined not by how much control they have, but by their ability to inspire, guide and take responsibility for the path ahead.

Ascendant Sign Elements

Aries House Cusps

Where the sign of Aries is placed in your chart and the hemisphere, quadrant and house cusps it is on will show where you can build confidence, take charge and embrace responsibility.

Fire Signs: A Call to Action

Fire signs will feel energized but also tested, as Saturn demands more discipline and focus.

Earth Signs: Laying Foundations

Earth signs thrive under Saturn’s structured influence, but Aries energy pushes them into bold, unfamiliar territory.

Air Signs: Focused Growth

Air signs will feel Saturn’s push toward commitment, structure and strategic thinking, which may feel restricting, but will be ultimately seen as a rewarding experience.

Water Signs: Strength Through Challenges

Water signs may feel challenged by Saturn’s structured, disciplined nature, but they’ll gain inner strength and emotional resilience through leaning in to this transit.

How Saturn in Aries will Affect Each Ascendant Sign

What to Look For

Find the house cusp that Aries is on. So, the sign of Aries will be spread a little in the house before the Aries cusp and the house of the Aries cusp. Pay attention to which houses Saturn will transit as it makes its way through Aries over the next two and a half years.

Example Chart

In the example chart for Trump, you can see that Aries is on his 9th house cusp, but Aries starts in his 8th house and goes into his 9th house. At some time in the future, and as Saturn transits Aries, it will move from his 8th house into his 9th house. Look for this in your own chart.

Aries

1st House: Identity and Personal Growth

This is your time of transformation, but not without effort. Saturn in your own sign means a complete personal restructuring. You’ll be challenged to take yourself seriously, commit to long-term goals and build a strong, mature identity. If you’ve been reckless or inconsistent, Saturn will force you to step up, take control and embody true leadership. You can expect tests of confidence, but also huge rewards for perseverance.

Taurus

12th House: Subconscious and Spiritual Growth

This is a deeply introspective time where hidden fears, past traumas and subconscious patterns come to the surface. Saturn is likely to force you to let go of old baggage, set healthy boundaries and focus on inner healing when in the 12th house. Spiritual discipline, like meditation, therapy, or deep self-reflection, will be necessary you’re your inner transformation.

Gemini

11th House: Community, Goals and Social Influence

Your social life and future aspirations are now under construction. Saturn asks you to refine your friendships, cut out superficial connections and build meaningful networks. Long-term goals will need you to make some serious effort, but the rewards will be lasting. Social status, networking and leadership in group settings will probably become serious matters for you.

Cancer

10th House: Career, Public Image and Legacy

Your career and public standing are now under Saturn’s watchful eye as Saturn moves through your 10th House. This is a time for professional growth, but also serious responsibility. If you’ve been unsure of your career path and the way forward, now Saturn will urge you to get clear on what you’re doing, work hard and prove your worth. Bosses, authority figures, or your own personal ambitions will demand more effort, but as always with Saturn, the results will lead to long-term success and recognition.

Leo

9th House: Learning, Travel and Expansion

Saturn asks you to redefine your beliefs, your long-term vision and your personal philosophy. Travel, education and spiritual growth may require more effort, but structured learning and disciplined expansion will lead to profound wisdom. Saturn usually build walls, but in the 9th house it can build bridges too, bridges to your future public self as it will soon cross the Midheaven. This is a time to commit to higher education, start teaching, or refine your life’s purpose through deep self-exploration.

Virgo

8th House: Intimacy, Transformation and Shared Resources

Your approach to deep emotional connections, finances and transformation will no doubt be restructured as Saturn passes through your 8th house. Saturn here asks you to take responsibility in committed financial matters (especially debts, taxes, or inheritances) and to navigate deep emotional bonds with maturity. If you’ve avoided intimacy or vulnerability, this transit will force you to confront and heal those fears.

Libra

7th House: Relationships and Partnerships

Saturn brings serious lessons in your relationships when it transits your 7th house. Whether you’re single or in a partnership, expect tests in commitment, responsibility and long-term compatibility. Any weak or fragile relationships may crumble now, while strong ones will be solidified through maturity and effort. This is a time to establish healthy relationship boundaries and redefine your expectations of love and partnership.

Scorpio

6th House: Work, Health and Daily Routine

Saturn demands discipline in your daily habits, work routines and health when is transits your 6th house. This is a time to commit to structured self-care, develop long-term health plans and refine your work-life balance. You may take on more responsibilities at work, but organization and strategy will be key to avoiding burnout. A structured fitness or wellness routine will yield powerful results.

Sagittarius

5th House: Creativity, Passion and Romance

Your natural free-spirited, adventurous nature will be challenged to grow up a little and mature. Saturn in Aries urges you to take your creative projects seriously and turn your hobbies into businesses, or passions into structured pursuits. Love and romance may feel more serious or restricted, but this is a time to build a meaningful and lasting love life rather than have endless fleeting flings.

Capricorn

4th House: Home, Family and Emotional Security

When Saturn transits your 4th house is suggests that big changes in your home, family and personal foundations are coming. Saturn may bring family responsibilities, moving against the urge, home relocations, or challenges in establishing emotional security. If your life foundation isn’t solid, this is the time to rebuild it with strength and get some concrete support in your life. Real estate investments, generational solidatity, or creating a stable home life will be major themes now

Aquarius

3rd House: Communication, Learning and Mindset

Your way of thinking, communicating and processing information is about to undergo a mature transformation. It’s time to get organized. Saturn transiting the 3rd house will challenge you to speak with clarity, structure your ideas and focus on disciplined learning. Writing, teaching, or public speaking may become areas of responsibility, while casual conversations and superficial information will no longer satisfy you.

Pisces

2nd House: Finances, Self-Worth and Stability

Financial responsibility is a major theme for you as Saturn transits your 2nd house. Saturn in Aries asks you to budget wisely, build financial security and take responsibility for your resources. You may have to work harder for money, or less money, but careful financial planning will lead to long-term stability. On a deeper level, this transit will also challenge you to develop self-confidence and recognize your self-worth beyond material success.

Overarch

Discipline meets Drive

Saturn in Aries is a time to step up, take risks with limits and develop true grit. The world will likely see emerging leaders, shifts in authority and a push toward individual personal empowerment. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to take control of your destiny, this is it.

Saturn in Aries is a time of bold transformation, where discipline meets drive and responsibility fuels innovation. This is the time to get things in place and done. This contradictory energy challenges you to take ownership of your ambitions, act with wisdom and build a strong foundation for your lasting success. Don’t miss the chance to lean into this transit and get things sorted out once and for all

This period until 2028, is not just a test of willpower but it is an opportunity to forge a new identity, embrace challenges with confidence and prove what you’re truly capable of achieving. You can do it.

Quintiles: Aspects of the Fifth Harmonic

Quintiles: Aspects of the Fifth Harmonic

Author: Alison Price   –   Published: March 2025

Quintiles

Aspects of the Fifth Harmonic

By now you know when reading a chart there are four cornerstones to chart interpretation. The four cornerstones are the signs planets. Houses and aspects and whilst there are many things that can be said about signs, houses and planets, personally, I find the aspects to be the most interesting. The main reason aspects are interesting is because they’re different for everybody, even though I may have a Moon aspect to my Sun, and you may have a Moon aspect to your Sun, if the aspect is different, the combination of energies changes too. And not only that, but some aspects can be more important than others.

Another way of looking at aspect connections is through the lesser used aspects. I haven’t spoken about lesser use aspects much at all, but this time we’re going to be looking at the aspects of the 5th harmonic, which are the quintiles and the biquintiles. When these two aspects are in a chart they are typically coloured in turquoise.

Quintile Aspect Patterns

Quintile Fat and Thin Arrows

I also want to just point out that there are two specific quintile aspect patterns, not that we’re talking about them today, but just let me mention it in passing. You’ve got the quintile fat arrow, and you’ve got the quintile thin arrow. Both of which are triangular aspect patterns and I’ll be discussing those later on this year. So, let’s have a look at the fifth harmonic lesser used aspects of the quintiles and the biquintiles.

Unveiling Hidden Talents

Ptolemaic Aspects

In astrology, there are five well-known main Ptolemaic aspects and they are the conjunctions, oppositions, trines, squares and sextiles. These are the basic aspects you start with. The standard orb I use for the Ptolemaic aspects is 8° degrees, except for the sextile (which is half of a trine), at 4° orb.

Minor Aspects

The four minor aspects are the semi-sextile and the quincunx (12 harmonic) and the semi-square and the sesquiquadrate (8th harmonic). In general, I use an orb of 2° for minor aspects.

Lesser-Used Aspects

But beyond these familiar planetary relationships lies a hidden gem – the quintile aspect (72°) and bi-quintile (144°) aspects. These aspects are formed by dividing the circle by 5. So the quintile is one fifth of a circle (360°/5 = 72°) and the biquintile is two fifths of a circle ((360°/5) x 2 = 144°). There are other lesser known, but still whole number angle degrees as well. The 5fifth harmonic aspects hold the key to creativity, intelligence and personal mastery. Not every chart will have quintiles but many do.

Creativity and Mastery

5th Harmonic

Both the quintile and biquintile belong to the 5th harmonic in astrology. This number is associated with creativity, invention and refinement. Unlike major aspects, which typically show life’s challenges and ease, quintiles represent the urge to create, innovate and express unique talents.

Genius

I view quintiles as markers of genius and as a sign of a person’s natural gifts, creative insights and their ability to shape reality in new and insightful ways. These five based aspects often appear in the charts of artists, scientists and innovators who have a unique approach to problem-solving or artistic expression.

Quintile Energy

Subtle

Unlike the dramatic energy of a conjunction or opposition, I believe that quintile energy is subtle and it operates beneath the surface, often manifesting as an innate ability rather than an external force. Those with tight quintiles may not even realize their gift until they actively develop and refine their skills. As an astrologer, it is you job to help your clients see the potential in their lives that is suggested by any quintiles in their charts. Usually, people are so obsessed with the issues brough forward by their squares and oppositions that they can’t even contemplate subtle quintile energy until you explain it to them.

Examples

  • A person with Mercury quintile Mars may have razor-sharp wit and mental agility, making them an excellent debater or writer.
  • Someone with Venus quintile Neptune may have an unusual artistic talent, creating beauty in ways other people wouldn’t think of.
  • Sun quintile Uranus could indicate a natural innovator and trendsetter and someone who thinks outside the box.

Unlike the trine which brings ease, quintiles require focused effort to fully activate them. It’s like having an innate ability to play the piano, but you still need practice to become a master pianist.

The Geometry of Genius

The Meaning of the Quintile

Quintiles are not just random angles, they are deeply connected to sacred geometry, that connect to the pentagram and the Fibonacci sequence.

Five

The quintile is part of the 5th harmonic. In numerology, 5 is the number of change, curiosity and exploration. This number is linked to the pentagram, an ancient symbol of balance, beauty and the harmony between the material and spiritual worlds.

Fibonacci

In nature, the Fibonacci sequence (which appears in flower petals, seashells and galaxies) often follows a fivefold pattern, showing the natural order and structure of creativity. This same energy flows through quintile aspects in astrology, that in a way can connect us to the deeper intelligence of the universe.

Quintile Themes

Golden Ratio

The Golden Ratio (1.618), which is also often called the Divine Proportion, is closely linked to quintiles. This ratio appears in art, architecture and nature to shape everything from the spirals of galaxies to the human face. Homes and building designed with the Golden Ratio are more pleasing to our eyes and we want to live and work on such buildings.

Proportion

Astrologically, people with strong quintile aspects may have an innate sense of proportion, harmony and order, whether in music, design, or problem-solving. They can see connections where others see chaos and this makes them natural innovators and visionaries.

Inner Brilliance

Many highly creative and intelligent people have prominent quintiles in their charts. While major aspects describe personality and life events, quintiles reveal how a person perhaps will channels their inner brilliance.

Leonardo da Vinci

Sun Bi-Quintile Neptune

Visionary Genius and Mystical Creativity

A highly imaginative and otherworldly mind, blending reality with fantasy and idealism. Mastery of light, shadow, and illusion—evident in his artistic techniques and futuristic inventions. A deep spiritual connection to knowledge, suggesting he saw his art and discoveries as a divine pursuit.  The ability to channel inspiration into tangible form, turning dreamlike visions into real innovations.

Sun Bi-Quintile Ascendant

Uranus Quintile Midheaven (MC)

Radical Innovation and Revolutionary Thinking

Unorthodox career path—he was not just an artist but also an inventor, scientist, and engineer. A pioneering mind that constantly challenged conventions and sought groundbreaking discoveries. An ability to predict the future with ideas far ahead of his time (e.g., concepts for helicopters, tanks, and anatomical studies). Genius in blending art with science, which was unprecedented in the Renaissance era.

Neptune Quintile Ascendant

Mystical Charisma and Inspired Self-Expression

A dreamy, otherworldly presence, making him a mysterious and enigmatic figureA highly imaginative and fluid self-image, allowing him to take on multiple roles—artist, scientist, engineer, and philosopher. An intuitive connection to the unseen, explaining his obsession with anatomy, nature, and hidden structures in the world. A natural ability to capture the ethereal and the divine, seen in the Mona Lisa’s mysterious expression and the spiritual depth of The Last Supper.

Da Vinci Overview

Leonardo’s quintile and bi-quintile aspects reveal a rare blend of artistic mastery, scientific innovation, and visionary thinkingThese aspects activated his hidden genius, allowing him to create some of the most influential works in history. His chart shows that true brilliance comes from integrating multiple disciplines—art, science, and spirituality—into aharmonious, visionary whole.

Mozart’s Quintiles

The Astrological Signature of Musical Genius

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birth chart is filled with quintile and bi-quintile aspects, which are linked to creativity, mastery and a natural talent for structuring beauty. These fifth harmonic aspects show his exceptional musical ability, rapid skill development, and deep emotional connection to his artBelow is a breakdown of how each of these quintiles contributed to his early musical genius and lasting legacy.

Sun Bi-Quintile Mars

Passionate Creativity and Fiery Artistic Drive

A tireless creative energy output. Mozart was known for his intense productivity, composing over 600 works in his short lifetime. By all accounts he had a bold and dynamic approach to music, often pushing boundaries with fast tempos, sharp contrasts, and dramatic intensity. He had a mastery of technical skills in composition and performance, that showed a highly refined control of musical expression. He bore a strong competitive drive and always strived for innovation and perfection in his pieces.

Sun Bi-Quintile North Node

Destined for Creative Greatness

His life path was uniquely tied to his artistic gifts, with music being his soul’s missionMozart almost had a sense of divine inspiration, as though his music was meant to elevate the human experience. His rapid evolution and success fulfilled his potential at a young age (writing symphonies at 8 years old!). There is a sense of fate with Sun biquintile the North Node and he seemed to be born to compose.

Sun Bi-Quintile Ascendant

Charismatic Genius and A Magnetic Presence

Mozart had strong, radiant personality which attracted patrons and audiences with ease. He had an ability to project his innate confidence and individuality, to make him a well-known public figure despite many personal struggles. As a diminutive person (5′ 4″), his presence and energy were seen as larger than life which was reflected in his music’s dramatic and captivating nature.

Mercury Bi-Quintile Mars

Lightning-Fast Musical Thought

Mozart had exceptional mental speed, that allowed him to compose music in his head way before he wrote it down. He had a sharp, witty communication style and was well known for his playful and cheeky personality. His precision and highly technical skill in both composing and performing complex pieces took people’s breath away and still does. Mercury biquintile Mars indicates the ability to juggle multiple musical ideas at once, to make his compositions layered and intricate.

Mercury Bi-Quintile Ascendant

Genius Through Words and Music

He seemed to have the ability to instantly translate his thoughts into music and to make musical composition effortless. He also held a charismatic and expressive presence, especially in performances. Mozart’s mind almost worked on multiple levels at once, to effortlessly project (Ascendant) his technical skill (Mercury) with artistic vision.

Venus Quintile Pluto

Passion and Power in Art

Mozart had a unique ability to capture the depth of human emotions in musicWe are attracted to the magnetic, haunting quality in some of his pieces, especially in his later operas. The music moves us and has a transformative effect on listeners, inducing both joy and sorrow in powerful ways. At times he had a fearless approach to exploring both light (Venus) and dark (Pluto) themes in his music.

Mars Quintile North Node

Driving Force Behind His Destiny

It is as though he was destined to push his relentless energy and fuel his creative journey. Perhaps there was a sense of urgency and purpose, because he knew he had limited time to create as he died so young at age 35. He set himself up as a natural leader in the music world, constantly setting trends rather than following them.

Mars Quintile Ascendant

Dynamic Stage Presence

He had a fiery, expressive way of performing that was full of energy, pizzaz and confidence. As he played many of his pieces in person, his ability to physically translate drives into music, made his performances electric. He had a resilient and bold personality which allowed him to withstand the pressures of public life.

Jupiter Biquintile Uranus

Expansive Vision and Revolutionary Musical Style

As a genius at breaking musical norms, Mozart often defied classical composition structures to create something entirely new. By all accounts, he had a playful, unpredictable streak and always wanted to make his compositions fresh and unexpected taking you on a road less travelled. The Jupiter biquintile Uranus aspects in his chart allowed him to compose grand and expansive pieces. His pleasant-sounding innovations shaped the future of classical music, influencing countless composers after him.

Jupiter Biquintile South Node

Past-Life Gift and Mastery of Music

All aspect connections to the South Node in anyone’s chart suggest things brough forward into this life’s incarnation. The Jupiter biquintile the South Node aspect was as if he had a sense that he was carrying musical knowledge from past lifetimesWith effortless talent from a young age it was as though he was simply “remembering” how to compose. Mozart had a deep spiritual connection to music and used it as a way to uplift the world.

Chiron Biquintile Midheaven (MC)

Heal the World

Mozart’s music has a deeply healing and transformative effect on people. Even today Mozart is played in neonatal units and hospices for people arriving in this world and those leaving it as it is thought to reduce pain.

Mozart is played in high crime areas in cities and brings relief to the activities that go on in back alleys. Shopkeepers play Mozart outside their doors to stop youths loitering around the sidewalk. If you play Mozart to a wilting houseplant it will perk up and begin to flourish. Tomato farmers have Mozart playing through speakers in their greenhouses for better sweeter crops. Traditionally, poultry farmers play Mozart in their hen houses for better egg laying as it calms the chickens.

Despite personal struggles, Mozart himself used music as a form of self-healingHis music continues to heal generations of musicians.

Mozart Overarch

The Quintile Signature of a Musical Prodigy

Mozart’s numerous quintiles and biquintiles show a chart bursting with divine creativity, precision and technical masteryThese fifth harmonic aspects indicate that his musical ability was more than just talent—it was an innate, almost supernatural gift.

Nikola Tesla’s Quintiles

Visionary Genius

Nikola Tesla, one of history’s greatest inventors and visionaries, had a mind ahead of its time. His innovations in electricity, wireless energy and electromagnetism revolutionized modern technology. Astrologically, Tesla’s quintile and biquintile aspects highlight his innate genius, deep intuition and relentless pursuit of discovery. These aspects represent a highly creative, almost mystical approach to science and invention. Tesla wasn’t just an inventor; he was an artist of energy and physics.

Sun Quintile Pluto

The Power of Transformation and Obsessive Genius

It seems that Tesla possessed an intense inner drive, pushing himself beyond normal limits to achieve his scientific breakthroughs. The Sun quintile Pluto aspect represents a transformational force, allowing him to see hidden energies and forces at work in the universe. He had a magnetic, almost hypnotic personality, with a powerful presence that fascinated those around him. This aspect also suggests a solitary path, as Tesla often felt misunderstood, choosing innovation over personal relationships.

Sun Quintile Ascendant

Visionary Persona

Tesla had an unmistakable presence he was tall, lean and had an almost ethereal appearance that made him seem otherworldly. The Sun quintile Ascendant aspect reflects an innate confidence (Sun) in his mission, allowing him to stay true to his revolutionary ideas, even when facing skepticism (Ascendant). He lived in his own reality, caring little for convention or social norms. This made him as a misunderstood genius, yet also an uncompromising innovator. Tesla probably  saw himself as a messenger of higher knowledge and often claimed that his ideas came to him in flashes of divine insight.

Mercury Biquintile Chiron

The Wounded Genius and A Mind Wired for Invention

Mercury (thought, intellect) and Chiron (wounding, healing) linked by a biquintile suggest a mind that saw beyond ordinary human limits. Tesla’s ideas were ahead of his time, and they were often too advanced for the world to understand (even today) and a source of intellectual isolation and personal suffering. He could hold entire blueprints of his inventions in his mind, visualizing machines and mechanisms in perfect detail before building them. With a deep interest to energy and frequencies, Tesla believed that understanding vibrations (Chiron) was the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe.

Mars Biquintile Uranus

The Drive to Disrupt

Tesla had a restless, electric energy that fueled his relentless pursuit of discovery. Mars (action, energy) linked to Uranus (innovation, rebellion) through a biquintile suggests an unusual and groundbreaking approach to invention. Tesla was known for his bold, unconventional experiments, in which he often fearlessly performed daring electrical demonstrations to prove his theories. Remember that electricity was not fully understood at the time and his work with alternating current (AC) revolutionized electricity to challenge the dominance of Edison’s direct current (DC). This Mars biquintile Uranus aspect also hints at his rebellious streak and Tesla didn’t just want to improve the world; he wanted to completely revolutionize it.

Tesla Overarch

The Quintile Signature of Tesla’s Genius

Tesla’s quintile and biquintile aspects reveal a man who was:

  • A channel for higher knowledge, receiving ideas in flashes of inspiration.

  • Obsessed with transforming the world, even at great personal cost.

  • A nonconformist genius, unwilling to follow the tried and true traditional scientific methods.

  • A master of unseen forces (electricity), understanding energy in a way few others could.

Lesser-Used Aspects

As an astrologer, you will no doubt focus on the main five aspects for your clients work as indeed this is where things happen. Once you get to the second or third session with a client who chooses to go deeper with you, that is the time to draw on the quintiles and biquintiles. The fifth harmonic aspects may not be as widely discussed as other aspects, but their subtle influence is great. Quintiles whisper rather than shout, requiring us to pay attention to our innate talents and refine them with effort. Think about what your quintiles and biquintiles aspects have to whisper to you and the planets are involved. If you’ve ever felt an unexplainable pull toward a skill or creative pursuit, your quintile aspects might hold the answer.

Personally…

Personally, I love finding quintiles in someone’s chart. I feel as though this is the type of astrology I was born for, to bring awareness to everyday folk about their hidden, or latent, potentials and genius streaks as shown by their natal quintiles and biquintiles.

Artists Charts: Venus and Neptune

Artists Charts: Venus and Neptune

Author: Alison Price   –   Updated: March 2025

Artists Charts

I’m not just an astrologer, but I consider myself as a hobby artist and crafter as well. Being creative and expressing yourself (and myself) through art is a great interest of mine.

Art in a Chart

When I see creative expression in someone’s chart, I’m keen to let them know even if they are concerned, or bogged down, with their daily grind of work, health, kids and general home life. The two planets most often associated with art are Venus and Neptune which got me thinking about how does Venus and Neptune and their aspects conspire in a birth chart to spark extraordinary creative talent.

Not Only…

I’m not saying that Venus and Neptune must be in aspect for you to be artistic, as I believe that everyone is in their own way, but sometimes it just sticks out as a theme in a chart. As humans we are naturally creative and we can think in abstractions. This ability set us apart 300 000 years ago and still does.

How Art Shows Up

You may have your ideas on how art shows up in a chart, but in this newsletter I’m happy to share mine with you. This week I’ll be looking at the charts of five artists, da Vinci, Michelangelo, Munch, Kandinsky and Bernini.

Podcast

Join Arwynne and I in this week’s podcast episode as we chat about the potentials between Venus and Neptune and how these planets illuminate the artistic talents of history’s most revered creatives.

Venus and Neptune

Arty Planets

I first want to share how I see this and make a distinction between Venus and Neptune. I believe that Venus, is associated with artistic expressions which can be physically touched like drawings, paintings, sculptures, mosaics and murals. On the other hand, Neptune symbolizes intangible art like dance, singing, music, choreography, film, photography and theatre or the more ethereal qualities of creativity and the emotional depths that art may evoke.

Contrast

This pair of arty planets serve as key indicators of artistic ability, inspiring a deeper exploration into how your understanding of your birth chart. The contrast of these two planets may provide insights into your artistic inclinations and motivations and can unlock hidden creative potentials. Let’s take a look into the connection between your birth chart and artistry, particularly focusing on the roles that Venus and Neptune may play in your birth chart.

What are the Odds?

Benchmark

Okay, so this for my Virgo friends out there…

Let’s just get a bit of a benchmark about how many charts are likely to have an aspect between Venus and Neptune. If we take the orb for a conjunction at 8° and the orb for an opposition at 8°. The orbs for two squares at 8° each, that would be 16°. The orb for two trines at 8° each, that would be another 16°. And the orbs for two sextiles at 4° each, that would be another 8°. This all adds up to (8+8+16+16+8=56) 56° of the zodiac.

Percentage

56 is the number of degrees where an aspect could occur between Venus and Neptune. If we then take 56° as a percentage of 360°, the answer is 15%. Therefore, 15% of all charts, (which is 15 out of every 100 natal charts) will have an aspect between Venus and Neptune. In other words, 15% of the population have an aspect between Venus and Neptune and therefore these people may be inclined to be artistic more than others.

Note

Also note that some people who are artists do not have an aspect between Venus and Neptune, and I’m only considering Ptolemaic aspects although I do later mention lesser used aspects.

Leonardo Da Vinci

Venus Trine Neptune

Leonardo da Vinci’s, chart contains a harmonious trine between Venus and NeptuneThis aspect suggests an innate artistic temperament, which manifests in his diverse masterpieces. With Venus in her own sign of Taurus and Neptune in Venus’ other sign, Libra, da Vinci’s capabilities to blend beauty with technical skill shine through his works. His painstaking attention to detail as he ground down mediums like lapis lazuli into the perfect pigment attests to the dedication intrinsic to such artistry.

Wassily Kandinsky

Venus trine Neptune

One of my personal favorite artists is Wassily Kandinsky who is a remarkable figure and an innovator of abstract art. With Venus in Sagittarius trine Neptune in Aries, his artistic expressions flowed naturally, allowing him to articulate vivid color palettes and compositions that pushed boundaries. His work represents the evolution of art as a reflection of societal changes, demonstrating how different color and shapes embody various artistic movements and historical contexts.

Gian Lorenzo Bernini

Venus square Neptune

Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the master of Baroque sculpture, brought marble to life with breathtaking emotional intensity. He has Venus in detriment Scorpio square Neptune in Leo

Arwynne believes that his works, such as The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa and David, showcase his unparalleled ability to capture movement, passion and a divine experience in stone. The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa immerses viewers in a moment of spiritual rapture, where the saint’s face conveys both bliss and transcendence. While David is frozen in dynamic action, his body coiled with tension as he prepares to strike.

bernini-david-art

Image: Wikipedia Commons

Michelangelo

Venus quincunx Neptune

Michelangelo’s chart contains a pesky quincunx aspect between his Venus (Aries) and Neptune (Scorpio). This indicating a more tumultuous relationship for the artist and his work. Here, artistic expression comes at a price.

The struggle for creativity can lead to heightened angst which may be reflected in the raw emotion of his works such as the Sistine Chapel ceiling. The overwhelming pressures Michelangelo faced while working on this monumental project encapsulate the agony of artistic endeavor. I believe this may highlight how challenges can serve as catalysts for greatness.

Edvard Munch

Venus quincunx Neptune

The frenetic energy of Edvard Munch, is shown in his iconic paintings “The Scream.” An examination of Munch’s chart provides insight into how his personal struggles and existential thoughts permeated his works. This energy may have harnessed a visceral response that resonates with us today.

Much like Michelangelo, Munch’s quincunx aspect reveals that artistic expression often emerges from emotional turbulence. The unique blend of despair, anxiety and beauty captured in his art offers a raw portrayal of the human experience.

Overarch

While not every individual must have a strong aspect between Venus and Neptune to be deemed an artist, recognizing these planetary dynamics can unearth hidden creative potential.

To bridge the gap between art and your chart, I’d love you to take steps toward expressing your artistry, whether it be through drawing, painting, or pursuing other creative pursuits. These practices will not only bring you joy, but also serve as avenues for some emotional exploration and expression.

I invite you to share your experiences and insights on your artistic journeys. After all, art is a universal language, and understanding its connection to the cosmos can resonate profoundly within each of us, allowing our creative spirits to flourish.

Neptune in Aries

Podcast

In this week’s podcast episode Arwynne and I discuss the super important ingress of Neptune into Aries. This transition is significant because Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusions, spirituality and higher consciousness, has been super comfortable in Pisces (its home sign) since 2012.

Neptune in Aries

Enters Aries

Neptune moves into Aries on March 31st, 2025 which marks a major shift in collective energy. At the ingress moment, Neptune will cross over the Aries point at the very beginning of the zodiac to start a new cycle through the whole tropical zodiac. In Aries, Neptune takes on a completely different tone than it had in Pisces. Now, it emphasizes individuality, action and a pioneering spirit rather than the boundless, dreamy nature which it had in Pisces.

Key Themes of Neptune in Aries (2025–2039)

Spiritual Pioneers

Aries is about courage and breaking new ground. Neptune here may inspire spiritual warriors and people who will actively fight for their beliefs or forge their own new spiritual paths. You can expect a rise in innovative spiritual movements or leaders who promote self-discovery through action (Aries), rather than passive contemplation (Pisces).

Illusions Around Identity and Leadership

Neptune’s foggy influence in Aries could lead to some confusion around leadership, ego and your personal identity. It is likely that some global charismatic figures may emerge, but there could be deception around personal power and self-proclaimed leaders. The challenge is to discern true leadership from self-aggrandizement.

Fantasy Meets Action

Neptune rules your imagination and Aries is about initiating things. This could be a time when your dreams get put into motion, but it could also be when impulsive fantasies lead to unrealistic actions. Overall, this could show up in business, technology, space exploration, or even military strategies.

Shifts in Global Activism

Aries is bold and direct, while Neptune is about ideals. Together, they can probably drive social movements, but also create misguided activism where emotions override facts. People may feel deeply called to a cause, but here discernment is key and the question is, “Is it truly meaningful, or just a reactionary trend?”

Innovation in Healing and Energy Work

A shift from passive, meditative healing to active, movement-based spiritual practices like martial arts, hot yoga and energy work is likely now. New discoveries in alternative medicine, holistic healing and mind-body connections could emerge.

A New Era in Art and Creativity

Aries brings boldness and originality, so you can expect edgier, bolder artistic styles and artists to emerge. Creations in music, film and literature may take on a more raw, unfiltered and independent vibe. Themes of heroism, superheroes, rebellion and individualism will likely dominate creative expression.

Neptune

Challenges of Neptune in Aries

Ego or Altruism

Be aware of pursuing your personal dreams without losing sight of the collective good.

Impulsiveness and Disillusionment

You may be tempted to rush into things without a solid foundation which can quickly lead to burnout or disappointment.

War and Deception

On a wider level, Aries is linked to conflict and Neptune can blur the truth. This combination of fighting and ambiguity could lead to ideological battles, misinformation, or deceptive military tactics.

What It Means for You

Aries Placements

If you have Aries placements (the Sun, the Moon, Ascendant, or personal planets), you may feel an urge to align your dreams with direct action.

Libra, Cancer or Capricorn Placements

If you have Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn placements, Neptune’s influence may challenge your sense of self or your relationships. Everyone will feel this transit differently depending on their chart, but the key is to find a way to balance idealism with action and intuition with discernment.

Fight for Beliefs

Neptune in Aries is a bit of a wake-up call from the dreamy, boundaryless world of Pisces. It’s time to fight for what we believe in, turn dreams into action and redefine what personal and collective spirituality looks like. The next fourteen years will shape a new vision for leadership, activism and creativity and one that blends idealism with courage.

New Moon in Pisces

Musings

As we cycle through the astrological year, planets change signs, move forwards, move backwards and create different patterns and clusters within the Zodiac. Now frequently they are just plonked about the chart willy nilly, but for the New Moon in February, we have a cluster of planets in Pisces. Today I’m particularly focusing on the New Moon in Pisces on February the 27th and have shown the chart for this set for Vancouver. And you will also notice that this is a bowl chart once more underlining the concentration vibe of this chart where all the planets are in within (less than) an opposition between Pluto and Mars. Although it’s not an opposition per se, it’s less than it’s an even tighter grouping in the bowl.

Pisces in My Life

Family

Personally, I don’t often come across Pisces people as friends, or clients, because their Sun is quincunx to my Sun. So there is always a slightly, dare I say irritating, energy between their Pisces Sun and my Leo Sun. However, my family had different ideas.

In my household, both my mother and my father were Sun Pisces with birthdays on the 18th and 19th of March respectively. Additionally, my one and only sister is also a Pisces, born on February 26th. And one of my three daughters is a Pisces too and her birthday is on March the 5th.

This just makes Pisces one of those signs that I tend to know quite a bit about because I’ve seen these people in action, close up and personal. And let me tell you, a lot of what goes on happens at the shoe shop. I thought it would be thought-provoking this week to discuss this high concentration of five planets, plus one point, in Pisces, which will really only happen for a swift day or two as the Moon transits the sign of the Fish.

A New Beginning

Mystical Waters

The New Moon on February 27, 2025, occurs at 9° Pisces, ushering in a fresh lunar cycle infused with intuition, dreams and emotional depth. While New Moons happen every month, marking a time of renewal and setting New Moon Wishing, this particular lunation is uniquely powerful due to an extraordinary planetary alignment in the sign of Pisces.

A Concentration of Pisces Energy

In astrology, we track the movement of ten celestial bodies, from the Sun to Pluto and sometimes include Chiron, a minor planet associated with healing. During this New Moon, a remarkable five of these planets will be in Pisces, making this a significant cosmic event. Pisces is the final sign of the Zodiac, symbolizing completion, surrender and spiritual awakening. When a cluster of planets gathers in one sign, their combined influence amplifies that sign’s themes. In this case, the watery, mutable and deeply intuitive nature of Pisces is emphasized, creating an atmosphere rich with creativity, mysticism and emotional sensitivity.

The Five Planets in Pisces

Quintet

At the moment of this New Moon, the following planets will be transiting Pisces:

  • The Sun: Illuminating Pisces’ themes of imagination, spirituality and compassion.
  • The Moon: Aligning our emotions with Piscean energies, enhancing intuition and inner reflection.
  • Saturn: Bringing a structured or karmic element to this otherwise fluid and dreamy sign.
  • Mercury: Encouraging intuitive communication and deep inner thinking.
  • Neptune: The ruler of Pisces, heightening dreams, visions and spiritual awareness.

Concentration

This concentration of planetary energy in Pisces makes this an ideal time for creative pursuits, meditation, healing and emotional introspection. However, it can also bring sharp sensitivity, blurred boundaries and potential confusion, so grounding practices will be beneficial.

Adding another layer of significance, the North Node will be at 27° Pisces, aligning with this lunation in preparation for an upcoming Aries eclipse in March. The North Node represents destiny and soul growth, suggesting that this New Moon may set the stage for important shifts in collective consciousness and personal spiritual development. With such an intense Pisces influence, this period encourages us to trust our intuition, embrace our dreams and flow with the cosmic currents rather than resisting them.

Pisces Tenants

Let’s take a closer look at this concentration of Piscean energy.

The Sun in Pisces

Intuition

When the Sun is in Pisces, people are deeply intuitive, imaginative and compassionate. Pisces is a water sign ruled by Neptune, giving these people a dreamy, artistic and often mystical quality. They have a natural affinity for the spiritual, the unseen and the emotional depths of life.

Empathetic

People with the Sun in Pisces are empathetic and tend to absorb the energy of those around them, this makes them sensitive to their environment. They often have a strong creative streak, excelling in music, poetry, art and storytelling. However, their emotional depth can sometimes make them prone to escapism, as they seek refuge in fantasies, daydreams, ghosting or even unhealthy habits.

Spiritual

At their best, they are healers, visionaries and artists who bring beauty and compassion to the world. Sun in Pisces people’s challenge is to set healthy boundaries and stay grounded while embracing their deep emotional and spiritual nature.

The Moon in Pisces

Sensitivity

The Moon represents emotions, instincts and inner needs and when placed in Pisces, it enhances sensitivity, intuition and emotional depth. People with this placement feel everything on a profound level and may have psychic or intuitive abilities.

Absorbing

Their emotions are fluid, often changing like the tides and they can easily pick up on the moods of others. This makes Moon in Pisces people highly compassionate and nurturing but also they cab be susceptible to emotional overwhelm. Lunar Pisceans may need alone time to recharge, as they can absorb too much from their surroundings.

Meditation

This placement is excellent for artistic expression, as they channel their emotions into music, poetry, painting, or other creative outlets. However, Lunar Fish folk must be mindful of avoiding escapism through substances, fantasy, or emotional withdrawal. Meditation, spiritual practices and grounding techniques are likely to help them maintain emotional balance.

Saturn in Pisces

Reality vs Imagination

Saturn represents structure, discipline and responsibility, when Saturn is in Pisces is a dreamy and fluid sign. This combination brings a lesson in balancing reality with imagination. People with Saturn in Pisces may struggle with self-doubt, fears of the unknown, or feeling disconnected from reality.

The Call to Serve

This placement often leads to a deep sense of responsibility toward spiritual, artistic, or healing pursuits. These people may feel a strong duty to serve others, but they perhaps need to learn to set boundaries to avoid becoming easily overwhelmed. They might also experience challenges in trusting their intuition or in clearly defining their personal and professional goals.

Practical Spirituality

Over time, Saturn in Pisces teaches the importance of structure within creativity and spirituality. When mastered, this placement allows for disciplined artistic expression, practical spirituality and their ability to bring their dreams into reality in a tangible way.

Mercury in Pisces

Abstract Thoughts

Mercury governs communication, thinking and perception and while it is Pisces it is intuitive, imaginative and dreamy. People with Mercury in Pisces think in patterns, symbols, emotions and abstract concepts rather than rigid logic. Their communication style is poetic, expressive and often deeply emotional.

Storytelling and Fairy Tales

Mercurial Pisceans may be excellent storytellers, musicians, or visual artists, as they can convey deep emotions through their chosen medium. Yet, their thought processes can sometimes be scattered and they may struggle with the details or analytical tasks.  They tend to rely on gut feelings rather than logic, which can make decision-making perplexing.

Spiritual Messages

Mercury in Pisces people thrive in creative and spiritual fields but may need to work on grounding their thoughts and being clear in communication, as they can sometimes be vague, confused or misunderstood. Writing, journaling and meditation will most likely help to bring them clarity to their thoughts.

Neptune in Pisces

Dignified

Neptune is the modern ruling planet of Pisces (Jupiter is the traditional ruler) and when it is in its home sign, its influence is super strong. This placement enhances intuition, spirituality, creativity and compassion on a collective level.

What Goes Unsaid

People born with Neptune in Pisces are deeply connected to the mystical and unseen realms. They may have natural psychic abilities, clairvoyance or a strong interest in spiritual practices like meditation, crystal ball reading, or energy healing. Their imagination is vast, making them gifted artists, musicians and visionaries.

Seek Grounding

However, the placement of Neptune in Pisces also brings trials surrounding illusions, deception and escapism. It can blur the lines between reality and fantasy, making it easy to become lost in daydreams or unhealthy habits. Developing discernment and grounding practices is crucial for those with Neptune in Pisces.

Collective Healing

On a global scale, Neptune in Pisces influences artistic and spiritual awakenings, inspiring movements focused on compassion, unity and collective healing.

Overarch

It’s not every month that we come across a group of planets which is almost half of the plants available in one sign, but when you do it does add an overarching theme to the period.

What to Expect During Venus Retrograde

Aries / Pisces

Venus will retrograde in the two signs of Aries and Pisces.

Money and Love

Venus retrograde periods can feel like cosmic slowdowns in matters of the heart and finances.

Relationships Revisited

Old flames, long-lost friends, or unresolved conflicts may resurface. Use this time to gain closure or clarity rather than reigniting the past. You may find yourself revisiting old relationships or reflecting on how you communicate your desires and values to others. Expect moments of nostalgia, especially with friendships or romantic partnerships that have unfinished business.

Venus governs not only love but also money. Re-evaluate your spending habits, investment strategies and financial goals. Avoid major purchases or signing contracts during this time, as decisions may need revising later.
