Getting Started in Astrology

Getting Started in Learning Astrology

How It All Begins

In this post we’re going to give you some tips on how to get started in astrology.

This was a question from one of our super fans and I believe it will be of value to you as well.

Usually you read your Sun sign column.

Next you begin to dig a little deeper into chart readings.

Perhaps you have a friend who has had an astrology consultation and they say you should too.

The next step is usually to go and have a reading and suddenly you are hooked.

Astrology starts to creep into your mind at all times and you want to know more.

Let’s look at some steps you can take to learn astrology for yourself.

Get Your Chart

First of all you need a good copy of your birth chart.

This means that:

  • The house system should be Placidus.
  • The aspect orbs should be standard.
  • The planets should be the usual ones – Sun to Pluto.
  • The lunar nodes should be true.
  • The zodiac should be Tropical.

If you start with a different house system you can still read the chart.

Be aware of the actual house system for which the chart is set.

Orbs

Next check the aspect orbs.

Standard orbs are 8 for conjunctions, oppositions, trines and squares and 4 for sextiles.

Then 2 degrees for lesser used aspects of semi-square, sesquiquadrate, semi-sextile and quincunx.

Planets

You need the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

I also add Chiron and sometimes Eris but not the asteroids.

You can add more planets later. But we are just starting out.

You can cast a chart with online astrology sites but I don’t recommend them.

Astrology Software

If you are serious about learning astrology you need some chart calculation software.

To my mind there are two options

Solar Fire for PC and Astro Gold for Apple.

Astro Gold

Astro Gold is an iOS app that works on iPhone and iPad and separately Mac computers.

Personally, I have the app and use it on my iPhone and iPad.

I’ve not got to the stage of having Astro Gold on my MacBook Pro. There doesn’t seem to be a good reason.

Solar Fire

Probably the most robust astrology program is Solar Fire for PC it has been around for about twenty years and does it all.

I use Solar Fire for Graphic Ephemeris calculations, harmonic charts and forecasting date generation.

It is excellent if a bit clunky.

You do not need Solar Fire when you start out.

Astrology Books to Start

Here I’m going to recommend five astrology books to start your astrology bookshelf.

These books are solid and have reliable content.

You can get other books at a later stage and in fact you will probably continue to buy astrology books for the rest of your life like I do.

Ephemeris

The first book I’m recommending is an Ephemeris.

Get The American Ephemeris at midnight by Neil Pottenger and Rique Pottenger. it’s the one with the purple cover.

You will use this book to track the transiting planets movements and get information on retrograde cycles, eclipses, ingresses. and much more.

I use my Ephemeris every day as a consulting astrologer.

The Contemporary Astrologer’s Handbook

The Contemporary Astrologer’s Handbook by Sue Tompkins is the best astrology book in my opinion to get you started.

It contains lots about each planet, sign, house and aspect.

Practical Astrology

Practical Astrology by Priscilla Costello is a slim volume but contains core information about signs, planets and house systems.

It is a cook book style astrology book.

Meaning it has Jupiter in the signs and Jupiter in the houses and for all planets.

Aspects in Astrology

Aspects in Astrology by Sue Tompkins.

This book is a window into where many of the modern astrological techniques come from.

6th Book: Tetrabiblos

Tetrabiblos by Claudius Ptolemy.

This book was written over two thousand years ago and shines a light onto the priciples that modern astrology is based.

Back then, before telescopes, they only knew of the seven visible planets.

7th Book: The Aspiring Astrologer

If you want to get a feel for the classes I teach then I recommend getting The Aspiring Astrologer: 52 Self-paced Astrology Classes

This book has all the class notes I give to my private one-on-one students.

It does not go deep into signs, planets, houses or aspects, but rather covers what to do with the information in a chart.

I mention this book because it is at the core of my astrology business.

Classes, Conferences and Retreats

Local Astrology Groups

Join your local astrology group in your city.

If there is not one then start one.

Invite a couple of people around to your place for coffee and start an astrology group.

Astrology Retreats

An astrology retreat is a treat in itself.

There are several ones around which are regional.

I have heard great reviews from attendees of Stephen Forrest’s Astrology Retreat in Sedona Arizona, USA.

This is a week-long immersion event where you get to mix and mingle with people on their own astrological journey.

To help you decide if this is for you, I’ve put the link right here.

Please note, this retreat focusses on evolutionary astrology.

Astrology Conferences

The best conference to attend is the annual Summer School from the Faculty of Astrological Studies in Oxford, England.

Each year they offer a ten day long program at Summer School at Oxford University, England.

World Class Astrological Diploma

The Faculty of Astrological Studies Diploma.

The Faculty Diploma contains 9 Modules.

Each module can take up to six months to complete.

Certificate

You complete Modules 1, 2 and 3 then take the Certificate exam.

Intermediate Diploma

Then you complete Modules 4, 5 and 6 and then take the Intermediate Diploma Exam.

Final Diploma

Then you take Modules 7, 8 and 9 and then take the Final Diploma exam.

This is rigorous astrological training but it is, I believe, the best in the world at the moment.

Who This Is For

This full diploma course is not for everyone.

However, if you are serious about astrology then do consider the amazing training you will get at the Faculty of Astrological Studies.

So this is my advice for anyone wanting to get started in astrology.

Mars in Scorpio opposite Uranus in Taurus

This is a Guest Post from Arwynne O’Neill, research astrologer and the co-host of the Starzology Astrology podcast.

Mars in Scorpio opposite Uranus in Taurus

By Arwynne O’Neill

Last month we talked about the transit of Mars square Pluto which occured on October 8, 2023 and the potential for violence and destruction when the planets come into tense alignments.

Unfortunately, as so often happens in human history, that potential is often the easiest and most obvious interpretation, and this time was no exception.

Within less than 24 hours of the exact square, we heard reports of the Hamas attack that sparked the conflict in Israel and Gaza which continues to intensify, with mounting casualties every day.

Podcast Episode

For a deeper understanding of this aspect, you can listen to the full podcast episode of Mars opposition Uranus with Arwynne and Katia.

You can’t go too far wrong predicting that humans will act out aggressively and this is one of the most historically troubled regions in the world.

Decades of tension have erupted into horrific violence time and time again, followed by retaliation, escalation, and all the other countries ramping up financial support in the form of weapons and divisive rhetoric, which is what we’re seeing now.

Of course, on this podcast, we try to focus on the positive, so we mostly talked about the potential for transformation through action in our individual lives, which is another meaning of Mars and Pluto when they come together.

Read more >>> Mars

Read more >>> Pluto

If you are interested in the astrology of politics, a couple of great astrologers who are talking a lot about the current planetary conditions are Jessica Murray, based out of San Francisco, and Eric Francis based out of New York State.

They both focus a lot on transpersonal astrology, politics and historical Cycles which of course I find fascinating so if you want to go down that rabbit hole you can check out their blogs.

Rob Brezsney of Free Will Astrology has also posted some beautiful words of wisdom about healing historical wounds and how we can talk to each other about these types of events without falling into the traps of tribalism and extreme polarization… which has become increasingly difficult these days.

Mars and Uranus are another volatile planetary combination, with perhaps an even worse reputation for sudden events that mix the martial quality of Mars and the unexpected lightning strike quality of Uranus.

This month on November 11, Mars will oppose Uranus. Mars will be at 21° Scorpio and Uranus will be at 21° Taurus.

Since this aspect happens every two years it’s not uncommon but it is something to look out for and be aware of because of its potential for sparking conflict and breakthroughs, both positive and negative.

Mars opposite Uranus is an aspect that’s characterized by volatile excitement, tension and the urge for freedom as well as a feeling of enormous energy being focused through aggressive action.

With Mars in Scorpio this action can be extraordinarily vicious and calculating.

Mars rules both Aries and Scorpio and in Aries it tends to be characterized by the firefighter, the warrior, the boxer, etc.

In Scorpio it can take a much darker form.

Mars in Scorpio is the placement of the sniper, the super-spy and the secret agent, but also the detective, the private detective and the investigative journalist.

In a positive sense, Mars in Scorpio could be a great time to dig deeper, look beneath the surface (or the propaganda), find your own truth, expose lies and “fake news.”

Famous people with Mars in Scorpio opposite Uranus in Taurus include music legend Frank Zappa, actor Jon Voight, and the Dutch Impressionist painter Rembrandt who was born in 1606.

Some people with the Mars opposite Uranus aspect but not in those signs include Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the Family Guy and The Orville, which is a show I quite enjoy, the actor Peter Falk, otherwise known as Colombo, Kanye West, Alec Baldwin, Roman Polanski and Roseanne Barr.

Clearly, this aspect is prominent in the charts of people who speak their minds and don’t give a damn who they offend, for better or worse.

You may know some people like this in your personal life and they can be challenging but they can also be incredibly brave when standing up for what they believe in or championing the rights of others.

It’s all about harnessing these volatile energies in a positive constructive way.

Christmas Birth Chart

The Christmas Birth Chart

Jesus’ Birth Date

Christmas is an annual celebration observed worldwide on the 25th of December.

It’s a special day for many, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, although the exact date of his birth has been a subject of debate among historians and theologians for years.

We won’t delve into that debate here; instead, we’ll explore a fascinating perspective presented by Nicholas Campion in his remarkable book, “The Book of World Horoscopes.

Podcast Episode

You can listen to the full podcast episode.

Campion

In this exploration, we’ll defer to Campion’s extensive knowledge in the field.

He provides valuable insights into the possible astrological birth charts for the Christ’s birth.

Campion presents not one, but three distinctive charts for this significant event.

Campion’s approach offers us an intriguing glimpse into the various interpretations of this momentous occasion.

It allows us to consider the birth of Christ from multiple astrological angles, each with its unique significance and symbolism.

By examining these different charts, we can gain a deeper understanding of the potential celestial influences during Christ’s birth, as perceived through the lens of astrology.

Three Charts

These three charts open up a world of possibilities.

They reflect the complexity and diversity of astrological interpretations, inviting us to appreciate the nuanced layers of meaning associated with Christ’s birth.

Each chart holds its own symbolism, offering a rich tapestry of astrological insights.

Exploration

While we may not resolve the age-old debate about the exact date of Christ’s birth, the journey of exploration, is a testament to the depth and breadth of human curiosity.

It’s an invitation to approach historical and religious questions with an open mind, embracing the insights and nuances that different perspectives bring to the canvas of understanding.

John Addey’s Christmas Chart Details

Birth Data

Note: I recalculated the chart from the information in the book, but the angles are slightly out.

At 8:11 pm on August 21st, in the year 7 BCE, we delve into a remarkable astrological chart, suggested by John Addey, a prominent British astrologer from the 18th century. Addey’s contribution to the world of astrology is nothing short of intriguing.

He not only built upon the works of his predecessors but also ventured a step further, embarking on a journey through time by back-calculating from the pivotal moments of the resurrection of Christ and His ascension into heaven.

Addey’s methodology, while fascinating, involves intricate details and historical references that go beyond the scope of this discussion.

For those with a penchant for exploration, I encourage you to conduct your research, as this field of study offers a captivating journey through history and the cosmos.

To embark on a similar intellectual voyage, I recommend delving into John Addey’s Selective Writings, which is a treasure trove of astrological wisdom.

Chart Overview

Now, let’s turn our focus to Addy’s Christmas chart.

This particular chart is of special interest, as it connects the dots between historical and astrological contexts.

By exploring Addey’s interpretation of the celestial positions at the time of Christ’s birth, we gain an opportunity to appreciate astrology’s role in shaping our understanding of this momentous event.

The Christmas chart erected by Addey is a testament to the dedication and intellectual rigor that has been applied to the field of astrology over the centuries.

Addey melded historical and astronomical data to craft an interpretation that brings the birth of Christ to life through the lens of astrology.

Intellectual Exploration

Addey’s chart, nestled within the pages of Campion’s book, offers a window into the intersection of astrology and history.

It’s a testament to the artistry of intellectual exploration, just as your creative process infuses your artwork with life.

It encourages us to embrace the meditative and colorful dimensions of our intellectual pursuits, recognizing that, like a canvas waiting to be painted, the realms of history, astrology, and art are rich with possibilities, inviting us to explore, discover, and appreciate their depths.

Star of Bethlehem

Great Conjunction

There is a compelling astrological connection to the “Star of Bethlehem.”

This celestial phenomenon may find its roots in the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Pisces, which occurred in the year 7 BCE.

This great conjunction holds a significant place in the study of astrology and has intrigued scholars and stargazers alike for centuries.

Great Conjunction in Pisces

The Great Conjunction in Pisces is a key piece of the puzzle when it comes to understanding the possible astrological origins of the Star of Bethlehem.

It is believed to have been a moment of celestial alignment with profound symbolism.

Jupiter represents expansion, benevolence, and royalty, while Saturn symbolizes structure and discipline.

Spiritual

Pisces, the zodiac sign in which this conjunction occurred, is associated with spirituality, transcendence, and the mystical.

This alignment in such a spiritually charged sign adds a layer of depth to the interpretation.

The symbolism of Pisces aligns with the concept of a significant divine event, like the birth of Christ.

Magi

The mention of the Star of Bethlehem is a nod to the idea that this extraordinary conjunction might have been the celestial event guiding the Magi (astrologers) to the birthplace of Jesus.

It’s a concept that blends ancient astrology with the biblical narrative, giving rise to intriguing questions about the intersection of faith and cosmic patterns.

As an aspiring astrologer, the celestial dance of Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces was a symbolic occurrence in the night sky, potentially guiding the Magi on their sacred journey.

Religious History

The Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Pisces in 7 BCE, with its connection to the Star of Bethlehem, is a mesmerizing point of intersection between astrology and religious history.

Cardinal Cross

Symbolically relevant are the early degrees of the cardinal signs on the angles of this chart.

Ascendant

The ascendant is 0°30′ Aries. This relates to the cardinal cross.

Midheaven

The Midheaven is placed at 0°30′ Capricorn.

Sun in Leo

In this chart which I recerated in Astro Gold the Sun is in Leo at 26° 45’.

Historians

Astrological historians persist in their exploration of these ancient charts.

If you find this interesting, I strongly encourage you to delve deeper into this fascinating field of study.

The Book of World Horoscopes

I highly recommend delving into Nicholas Campion’s comprehensive work “The Book of World Horoscopes” as a valuable and contemporary reference for anyone embarking on or continuing their journey into the captivating realm of astrology.

This book serves as a sturdy foundation and a fruitful starting point for your future explorations in this field.

One of the standout features of this remarkable book is its inclusion of birth charts for all the countries of the world.

It’s like having a celestial atlas at your fingertips, allowing you to explore the astrological makeup of nations and the potential influence of celestial bodies on their destinies.

Each country’s birth chart opens up a fascinating avenue of understanding and contemplation, offering insights into their unique character and the events that have shaped their histories.

Furthermore, “The Book of World Horoscopes” extends its reach beyond country charts.

It has a diverse range of mundane charts, which encompass the inception of wars, the birth of political parties, the introduction of currencies, and other intriguing events that have left a mark on human history.

These charts provide a compelling glimpse into how astrology has been intertwined with significant global occurrences throughout time.

Notably, the book also delves into the concept of the world horoscope.

This broader perspective encourages contemplation of the interconnectedness of nations and global events, fostering a deeper understanding of the collective influences of the celestial spheres on our world.

Whether you’re an aspiring astrologer seeking to expand your knowledge or simply an individual with a curious mind, this book is a valuable companion on your intellectual journey.

It encourages you to embrace the artistry of thought and to appreciate the diverse and colorful dimensions of astrology and its role in shaping our world.

Christmas Eve

Gathering

As Christmas Eve graces us with its presence once more, we are presented with a precious opportunity.

It’s a moment to come together with cherished family and close friends, to rekindle the bonds that warm our hearts.

Hope

Yet, this season is more than just merry gatherings; it’s a poignant reminder to reflect on the less fortunate among us.

In the midst of our festivities, we can extend a hand, share our blessings, and kindle the flames of hope for those who may be facing hardships.

Message

At the core of the Christmas message lie powerful themes of sacrifice and forgiveness.

These timeless virtues hold a special place in the Christian tradition and resonate deeply during this season.

It’s a time when we draw strength from the willingness to sacrifice for the greater good and offer forgiveness, embodying the essence of compassion and grace.

Sacrifice

Sacrifice, as exemplified by the birth of Christ, teaches us the profound value of giving, often without expecting anything in return.

It’s a reminder that acts of kindness, big or small, have the power to illuminate lives and inspire others to do the same.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness, another fundamental aspect of the Christmas message, is a testament to the human capacity to heal and restore.

It encourages us to let go of grudges, mend broken relationships, and extend a hand of reconciliation. In doing so, we emulate the love and forgiveness that underpin the Christian faith.

Positive Change

As we gather with loved ones, we embrace these themes not just as part of a religious tradition but as universal values that resonate with people from all walks of life.

We reflect on the power of sacrifice and forgiveness to bring about positive change, both within ourselves and in the world around us.

Support

Every December, as the holiday season unfolds, a meaningful tradition takes place within Starzology.

It’s a time when a portion of the profits generated is set aside to make a positive impact on the lives of those in our local community.

This commitment to giving back reflects a belief in the power of supporting those in need right in our own backyard.

Local Charities

Charitable giving is a noble endeavor that transcends financial transactions.

It embodies the spirit of empathy and the understanding that as a community, we share a responsibility to uplift one another.

By allocating a percentage of the podcast’s earnings to local charities, we’re not only making a financial contribution but also fostering a sense of togetherness and solidarity.

Think Local

Supporting local charities is a choice grounded in the belief that meaningful change often begins at home.

These organizations are the unsung heroes of our communities, addressing critical needs, and helping those who may be struggling.

By directing our support to these local initiatives, we play a direct role in enhancing the well-being of our neighbors and contributing to the betterment of our immediate surroundings.

Community

This tradition carries a message of compassion and underscores the significance of being an active participant in our community.

It’s a reminder that even small, collective efforts can lead to significant positive change.

Each dollar contributed represents a symbol of hope and a step toward making someone’s life a little bit brighter during the holiday season.

Goodwill

As we come together to celebrate the joys of December, this act of giving back reinforces the true spirit of the season.

It’s not just about the exchange of gifts but about the exchange of goodwill, kindness, and support.

By supporting local charities, we affirm our belief in the potential for positive change in the lives of our fellow community members.

Belief

In essence, this tradition signifies a commitment to making our community a better place, one act of kindness at a time.

It’s a testament to the belief that by helping those closest to us, we create a ripple effect of positivity that extends far beyond the holiday season.

As you engage in this tradition, know that your contributions are part of a larger tapestry of goodwill, binding us together in the shared mission of making our local community a more compassionate and caring place.

Celebrations

Great Tidings

The way in which you choose to celebrate Christmas is a deeply personal and unique experience.

In my home, we share the warm greeting of “Merry Christmas,” and it’s a sentiment I’d like to extend to you now.

So, from my heart to yours, I wish you a joyous and heartwarming Merry Christmas.

This season carries with it a sense of magic, hope, and togetherness, and I sincerely hope that it brings you an abundance of blessings and a peaceful Christmastide filled with love and cherished moments.

I’d like to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and for being a part of our journey.

Your presence and connection mean a great deal, and I look forward to the times we’ll share in the future.

As we bid farewell to this Christmas season, remember that the love and goodwill we share can be carried with us throughout the year.

Until we meet again, stay well and embrace the love and joy that this season brings.

With warmest wishes and love,

The Leo Creator Economy in the Age of Aquarius

The Creator Economy

Overview

We are now stepping into the era of the creator economy, where independent and individual creators can thrive.

This unprecedented phenomenon marks a significant departure from historical norms.

The advent of the internet has swung open wide doors for creative individuals to craft and showcase their content, products, and expertise to a vast and diverse audience.

The creator economy refers to a modern economic ecosystem in which individuals, often referred to as “creators,” leverage digital platforms and technologies to produce, distribute, and monetize their own content, products, or services directly to their audience or consumers.

This concept has gained significant prominence due to the rise of the internet, social media, and various online platforms that enable individuals to showcase their talents, expertise, and creativity without the need for traditional intermediaries like publishers, record labels, or studios.

Podcast Episode

Listen to this podcast episode for a richer experience.

Key Features of the Creator Economy

Content Creation

Creators produce a wide range of content, such as videos, articles, podcasts, music, art, photography, and more.

The content can be educational, entertaining, informative, or inspirational, catering to specific niches and audiences.

Digital Platforms

Creators rely on digital platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Patreon, Substack, and other websites to share and distribute their content.

These platforms provide a global reach and offer tools for engagement, interaction, and monetization.

Direct Audience Engagement

Creators often build a dedicated and engaged community of followers, fans, or subscribers.

They interact with their audience through comments, messages, live streams, and other forms of direct communication.

Monetization Strategies

Creators monetize their work through various methods, including ad revenue, sponsorships, merchandise sales, subscription models, crowdfunding, and offering premium or exclusive content to their most devoted supporters.

Individual Branding

Creators develop their personal brand, which encompasses their unique style, voice, values, and expertise. This branding helps them stand out and build a loyal fan base.

Flexible Work Environment

The creator economy offers flexibility in terms of work location and hours. Creators can work from anywhere and often set their schedules according to their preferences.

Entrepreneurial Opportunities

The creator economy enables individuals to turn their passions and talents into viable businesses.

It empowers them to become entrepreneurs by building and growing their own brands.

Challenges and Risks

While the creator economy offers opportunities, it also comes with challenges such as maintaining consistent income, dealing with algorithm changes on platforms, and managing online harassment or negative feedback.

Overall, the creator (Leo) economy represents a democratization (Aquarius) of content creation, allowing anyone with talent and dedication to potentially reach a global audience and earn a living from their creative endeavors.

It has transformed the traditional media landscape and reshaped how people consume and engage with content.

The Virgo/Pisces Shift

The Age of Pisces

Over the course of the past two millennia, individuals often played the role of workers within a collective framework, resembling the Virgo archetype.

This paradigm was often at odds with the principles of the church, characterized by the Pisces energy, where themes of sacrifice and redemption held sway under the influence of those who wielded control over the labor force (Virgo).

The dynamic interplay between Virgo and Pisces has now yielded ground to the emerging energies of Leo and Aquarius.

Value Creators

Education Shift

Individuals such as YouTubers, writers, influencers, and creators of educational content are experiencing a surge in prominence.

Learning is no longer confined to traditional institutions like universities or religious establishments; now, you have the opportunity to glean knowledge directly from individuals.

In this era of the creator economy, and particularly within the Age of Aquarius, everyone possesses unique passions that can be skillfully packaged and delivered through the avenue of solo entrepreneurship.

Leo

Creative Independence

Leo embodies the essence of the creator, finding its resonance within the realm of the fifth house, known for its profound creativity.

The ascent of creative principles finds its symbolism in Leo, juxtaposed with its counterpart sign, Aquarius.

The present landscape reveals an unprecedented surge in independent enterprises.

The capability to encapsulate one’s skills and unique expertise to establish a business has never been as prevalent as it is now.

The Age of Aquarius

Dawn of the New Age

The Age of Aquarius dawned around the year 2000.

The Age of Aquarius made its initial appearance with the harnessing of electricity, a development around the 1830s closely following the discovery of Uranus on March 13, 1781.

Aquarius

Aquarius is the sign of innovation and the internet, smart phones, computers and all manner of tech gadgets. People born under the sign of the Water Bearer are often associated with unique and unconventional traits.

Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus, which adds a touch of innovation, unpredictability and originality to their character. These people are often known for their independent and forward-thinking nature.

Strongly Aquarius folk thrive on creativity, new ideas, and intellectual pursuits which makes them great problem-solvers and visionaries.

Aquarius Seems Sociable

Being friendly and seemingly sociable are strong characteristics of Aquarians.

They possess a genuine concern for humanity and often engage in humanitarian efforts.

The Uranus ruled ability to connect with people from all walks of life makes them excellent communicators and team players.

Aquarius Personal Style

One of the distinctive attributes of Aquarius is their emphasis on individuality and a desire to stand out from the crowd. They are unafraid to challenge societal norms and carve their own paths.

This trait can manifest in various ways, from their personal style to their choice of career or hobbies.

Aquarius and Relentless Innovation

Aquarius is symbolized by the Water Bearer, which signifies the flow of knowledge and ideas.

This symbolism underscores their role as forward-thinkers and carriers of innovation.

They have an innate curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, which drives them to explore new concepts and push boundaries.

Aquarius Stimulates Mental Connections

In relationships, Aquarians value mental connections and intellectual stimulation.

They seek partners who can engage in deep conversations and share their passion for learning.

While they might seem emotionally reserved at times, they genuinely care for their loved ones and express their affection in unique and unexpected ways.

As you embrace astrology as a creative and inspirational tool for living your best life, you might find that exploring your Aquarian traits helps you tap into your natural inclinations.

Embracing your independent spirit, nurturing your creative pursuits, and channeling your humanitarian instincts can empower you to navigate life’s journey in a fulfilling way.

Pluto in Aquarius: 2022 – 2043

Pluto entered Aquarius starting in 2022 until 2043. It will tenant the realm of the fixed air sign for approximately two decades.

This era coincides with the emergence of Chat GPT and the remarkable rise of accessible artificial intelligence (AI).

This significant transformation in our approach to various projects is poised to gain momentum over time.

The advent of cyber currencies (Uranus in Taurus) serves as a tangible manifestation of this impetus for innovation, embodying the collective voice of humanity.

Gender Fluidity

A notable facet of the Age of Aquarius is embodied in the concept of gender fluidity.

Opposition Aspect (Leo/Aquarius)

Projection and Freud

The concept of projection is inherent in the dynamic of any pair of opposing signs.

Projection is a defense mechanism that Sigmund Freud first introduced as a way to understand how individuals deal with emotions and thoughts that they find difficult to accept within themselves.

Projection involves attributing one’s own thoughts, feelings, or desires onto someone else.

In essence, it’s a way of displacing internal conflicts or uncomfortable aspects of oneself onto external people or situations.

This can provide temporary relief from dealing with those feelings directly.

For example, imagine someone who is struggling with feelings of jealousy but is unable to acknowledge this emotion within themselves.

They might project these feelings onto a friend, accusing the friend of being jealous of them instead.

In reality, it’s the individual who is experiencing jealousy, but they project it onto another person as a way of avoiding the discomfort.

Unconscious

Projection often occurs unconsciously, meaning that you might not even be aware that they are projecting your own emotions onto others.

It’s a defense mechanism that helps protect the ego from distressing or conflicting thoughts and emotions.

Projection and Jung

This concept has been widely studied and discussed in psychology. Carl Jung, a prominent Swiss psychiatrist, also explored projection as a way to understand the interactions between the conscious and unconscious mind.

He believed that projection could reveal hidden aspects of the individual’s psyche, offering insight into unresolved inner conflicts.

Projection and Personal Growth

Understanding projection can be beneficial for personal growth and self-awareness.

By recognizing when you might be projecting your own feelings onto others, you can gain insight into your own emotions and thoughts.

It allows you to take a step back, reflect on your reactions, and consider whether your perceptions are influenced by your own internal struggles.

Explore the Projection Concept

In your creative and inspirational approach to life, the concept of projection can serve as a valuable tool.

By exploring this principle, you can gain a deeper understanding of your own motivations, desires, and fears.

This self-awareness can guide you in making more conscious choices and fostering healthier relationships.

It’s important to remember that projection is a natural part of human psychology, and everyone engages in it to some extent.

The key is to develop the ability to recognize when it’s happening and to use that awareness as an opportunity for introspection and personal growth.

As you integrate this understanding into your journey of self-discovery, you’ll likely find that it adds another layer of depth to your creative endeavors and your pursuit of living your best life.

Each sign contains elements desired by its opposite counterpart.

Now, let’s direct our attention to the two dynamic fixed signs of Leo and Aquarius.

Leo and Aquarius

Wanting What You Don’t Have

The essence of opposites is beautifully captured through the interplay of contrasting themes.

In a harmonious dance, Leo and Aquarius have the potential to enhance each other’s completeness.

Leo stands to gain by embracing humility and recognizing the intrinsic worth of humanity.

Aquarius has an opportunity to nurture increased courage and delve into the depths of the heart.

Opposites Attract

The concept of opposites attracting and creating wholeness is a fascinating phenomenon found not only in nature but also in human relationships and various aspects of life.

Much like the interplay between night and day, the union of opposites can bring balance, richness, and a sense of completeness.

Day and Night

The cycle of day and night is a perfect example of how opposites complement each other to form a harmonious whole.

Day represents light, warmth, and activity, while night embodies darkness, coolness, and rest.

Yet, these apparent contradictions work together seamlessly, each contributing its unique attributes to the overall rhythm of life.

The transition from day to night and back again symbolizes a natural ebb and flow, a dynamic equilibrium that sustains the world.

Active and Passive

In human relationships, the attraction between opposites often stems from the idea that individuals with contrasting qualities can bring out the best in each other.

For instance, a person who is outgoing and extroverted may be drawn to someone who is introverted and contemplative.

Their differences create a complementary dynamic where one partner encourages the other to step outside their comfort zone, fostering personal growth and expanded horizons.

Quality

In a similar vein, the union of different strengths and perspectives can lead to more well-rounded solutions in problem-solving and creative endeavors.

When people with diverse skills collaborate, they often contribute unique viewpoints that enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of the outcome.

Light and Dark

Opposites also play a crucial role in personal development and self-discovery.

Embracing contrasting aspects of oneself, such as strengths and weaknesses, can lead to a deeper understanding of one’s identity.

Just as the night allows for introspection and rejuvenation, acknowledging our “dark” or less visible traits can lead to a more authentic and integrated sense of self.

However, it’s essential to note that the harmony between opposites doesn’t mean a complete erasure of differences.

Rather, it involves a respectful coexistence where each element retains its identity while contributing to a larger, harmonious whole.

Creative Inspiration

In relationships, for example, maintaining individuality while appreciating and valuing differences is key to a healthy and thriving partnership.

As you explore the idea of opposites attracting and creating wholeness, consider how this concept can enrich your creative and inspirational journey.

Just as day and night work together to sustain the natural world, your unique blend of qualities and experiences contributes to the vibrant tapestry of your life.

Embracing the interplay of opposites within yourself and your interactions with others can lead to a deeper sense of fulfillment and a more holistic approach to living your best life.

The prospect seems plausible, even quite probable.

However, if your aspiration as a creator leans toward becoming an influencer, it’s advisable to tap into your Leo attributes.

Of course, numerous astrological factors must be taken into account.

For those of you whose birth charts prominently feature the dynamic duo of Leo and Aquarius, whether through influential house placements such as the first or tenth, or through planetary presence in these signs, you stand a greater chance of thriving as a creator during this Leo/Aquarius era compared to many others.

Mercury and Mars aspects. We explain the difference between the five Ptolemaic aspects with the two planets Mercury and Mars in a chart.

Solar Eclipse October 2023

Solar Eclipse October 2023

2023 2nd Eclipse Season

There is a Solar Eclipse on October 14, 2023 at Libra 21°08′ at the South Node

This marks the start of the first eclipse in the second eclipse season of 2023. In two weeks, there will be a lunar eclipse.

Almost every year has two eclipse seasons, and 2023 is following this pattern. Eclipses happen when the Sun comes near (within 18 degrees) to one of the Moon’s nodes.

Solar Eclipse

Solar eclipses occur when the Sun gets close to a lunar node and the Moon aligns with the Sun. The lunar nodes are points where the paths of the Sun and the Moon intersect.

Synodic Cycles

Now, let’s talk about synodic cycles. Solar eclipses mark the beginning of a new synodic cycle between these celestial bodies.

What does this mean for you? Solar eclipses blend your needs and desires, bringing focus to what truly matters. They create opportunities for starting fresh with new projects, relationships, or activities.

To understand how this eclipse at 21 degrees Libra may impact you, take a look at your birth chart. Pay attention to which house it falls in and any connections to other planets or points. This will help you grasp its specific effects on your life.

South Node

Eclipses occurring at the south node of the Moon carry the theme of releasing and letting go. This release can involve attitudes, clutter, or beliefs that no longer serve a purpose in your life. South node eclipses offer you the opportunity to shed unnecessary baggage.

By letting go of these things, you create space for more valuable and meaningful experiences that are on their way to you. South node solar eclipses signify the importance of making room in your life for new opportunities and growth. It’s like decluttering your physical and mental space to allow new possibilities to enter.

Remember, if you hold onto the past (associated with the south node), there won’t be much room for fresh beginnings. It’s essential to choose wisely and consider not just how you manage your time but also your energy.

For instance, if you’re thinking about getting a new puppy (which is a symbol of a solar eclipse, representing new beginnings), you’ll need to clear some space in your daily routine (related to the south node). This might mean allocating time for a half-hour walk with your furry friend. In doing so, you open up space in your life for this new and joyful experience.

Solar Eclipse Aspects

Conjoined Mercury

This eclipse is closely linked to Mercury, which is quite common, as Mercury often aligns with the Sun.

The fact that Mercury is in close proximity to the eclipse degree suggests that there may be extensive discussions regarding the themes this eclipse brings to light.

Mercury’s presence in Libra indicates a tendency to be diplomatic and avoid confrontational speech. It’s important to consider all available options and maintain harmony with your partners and those close to you.

Thoughtfully selecting your words can play a strategic role in smoothly implementing new plans and avoiding resistance.

Square Pluto

The eclipse forms a square aspect with Pluto, indicating that the transformation highlighted by the eclipse might have profound and far-reaching consequences, potentially leading to a significant transformation in your life.

This impact is likely to be even more pronounced if the eclipse aligns closely with one of your planets or significant points in your birth chart.

Opposition Chiron

Additionally, the eclipse loosely opposes Chiron, indicating the possibility of encountering resistance or opposition to your intentions during this eclipse.

It’s worth noting that Chiron’s influence can sometimes make you feel vulnerable or less confident in your abilities. It may even trigger imposter syndrome, where you doubt your qualifications or worthiness when dealing with these celestial transits.

Conclusion

This solar eclipse carries the potential for significant transformation in your life.

It’s essential to observe what unfolds on the day of the eclipse, which falls on October 14th.

The impact of this eclipse is expected to last for approximately three months from the date of the eclipse itself.

Typically, there is no noticeable shift in energy until the eclipse becomes exact.

For more in-depth information about eclipses, we invite you to listen to our special eclipse podcast episode available at this link.

In this episode, both Arwynne and I delve into the details of the eclipse, providing valuable insights and discussions.
