Mars

Mars

Mars In Your Chart

Mars, in astrology, is a dynamic and fiery planet that holds a prominent place in the chart. Representing the god of war in Roman mythology, Mars is associated with energy, action, and assertiveness.

Mars is a key plant in any chart. It influences various aspects of your personality and shapes the way you approach life.

Mars’ Meaning

Mars is often described as the planet of action, and its position in your birth chart can offer valuable insights into your drive, ambition, and how you pursue their goals.

If Mars is strongly placed, it can signify a person who is proactive, assertive, and unafraid to take risks. On the flip side, challenging aspects to Mars (like squares and oppositions) may manifest as impatience, impulsiveness, or a tendency to become easily frustrated.

Mars and Desire

The red hue of Mars is not only symbolic of its association with war but also of its connection to passion and desire. In matters of love and relationships, Mars plays a significant role in expressing your romantic and sexual desires.

It can provide clues about your approach to intimacy and the kind of energy you bring into your partnerships with others.

Mars’ Rulership

Mars is the ruling planet of Aries and co-ruler of Scorpio. Its influence is palpable in these signs, imbuing them with a potent dose of vigor and determination.

Aries, driven by the impulsive and fearless nature of Mars, charges ahead with enthusiasm, embodying the pioneering spirit of this planet.

On the other hand, Scorpio, with Mars as its co-ruler, channels the energy in a more intense and strategic manner, diving into the depths of emotions and transformation.

Mars’ Key Themes

Energy

Mars is the planet of energy, action, drive, effort, traction, friction and heat.

The Chase

It rules the chase to find a mate, excitement and adrenalin rushes.

Courage

Strategy, courage, the pioneering spirit, to conquer and gladiators, in general, are all under the influence of Mars.

Tools

Implements, tools and sharp tools like knives, awls, scissors, scalpels, weapons, and bayonets come under Mars.

Mars’ rulership of sharp implements also includes sewing and knitting needles.

People

Mars symbolizes young men, brothers and Brothers in Arms.

Her Mars placement in her natal chart shows the type of man she is looking for.

Sex

Mars rules the urge to copulate, sex, libido, virility and testosterone.

Mars Shows Your Drive

In essence, Mars in astrology is a celestial force that propels you forward, urging you to pursue your passions, face challenges courageously, and embrace the vibrant and assertive aspects of your nature.

Understanding the role of Mars in your chart allows you to navigate your path with greater self-awareness and harness the dynamic energy of this red planet in a mindful and purposeful way.

Mars Returns

The concept of “Mars Returns” is another fascinating aspect of Martian astrology. Similar to the well-known Saturn Return, Mars Return occurs approximately every two years, signifying a period when the energy, motivation, and assertiveness associated with Mars are heightened.

This can be a time of significant personal growth, as you may feel a surge of vitality and a renewed sense of purpose.

Mars in Forecasting

In predictive astrology, the transits and progressions involving Mars can serve as indicators of periods where you may feel compelled to take action, face challenges head-on, or experience increased vitality.

However, it’s crucial to approach these influences with mindfulness and awareness, as Mars’ energy can be intense and may require a balanced and conscious channeling.

Triple Division: Houses

Triple Division: Houses

Author: Alison Price   –   Published: January 2021

Triple Division Houses

The twelve houses can be divided into three groups.

This is known as the triple division of the houses.

There are Three Divisions

  • The first division
  • The second division
  • The third division
triple-division

Triple Divison Location

In astrology, the first triple division originates from the point called the Ascendant, which marks the beginning of the first house in a birth chart. This division divides the astrological wheel into segments, with each segment containing four houses.

Houses in Each Triple Division

In each triple division, you’ll find four houses. These houses correspond to the twelve natural houses represented by the zodiac signs. The four houses within a triple division are always associated with one of each of the four elements: fire, earth, air, and water.

Elements and Houses

  1. Fire Houses: These houses are associated with action, passion, and enthusiasm.
  2. Earth Houses: These houses relate to practical matters, stability, and material concerns.
  3. Air Houses: These houses focus on communication, intellect, and social interactions.
  4. Water Houses: These houses deal with emotions, intuition, and deeper emotional connections.

In each triple division, you’ll find a mix of these elemental energies, which adds a unique flavor or focus to that segment of the astrological chart.

Triple Division Strength

Triple divisions are strong when they contain five or more planets, or they are weak when they have no tenants.

When assessing the strength or weakness of each triple division, you can count the planets within that segment.

For this count, consider only the visible planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. These planets are traditionally considered the most influential in astrology.

Strong Triple Division

If a segment has more planets from the visible seven, it indicates strength, vitality, and activity in the areas represented by that division.

Balanced Triple Division

An equal distribution of planets across the seven visible planets suggests a harmonious balance of energies in that division.

Weak Triple Division

A lack or absence of planets in a segment may indicate challenges or less focus in the areas governed by that division.

First Triple Division: Me Divison

The first division includes the first, second, third and fourth houses.

It is the me division.

Second Triple Division: We Division

The second division includes the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth houses.

It is the we division.

Third Triple Division: They Division

The third division includes the ninth, tenth eleventh and twelfth houses.

It is the they division.

By examining the planetary count in each triple division, you can gain insights into the dominant energies, challenges, or strengths in different areas of a person’s life as indicated by their birth chart. This method offers a structured way to understand the dynamics and energies at play within each segment of the astrological wheel.

Creating Good Habits with The Moon: 30 Day Drawing Challenge

Creating Good Habits with The Moon: 30 Day Drawing Challenge

by Alison Price

Creativity

In astrology, your habits are closely realted to the Moon.

As the Moon passes through your birth chart it transits every house and forms every possible aspect to all of your planets.

Because of the Moon’s natural abilities, everything is sensed and instinctively known. You just have to pay attention.

Habits

To break a bad habit takes one lunar orbit of the Earth or one month.

By the same token, to build a good habit takes one lunar orbit of the Earth, or 30 days, give or take a whisker.

30 Day Drawing Challenge

Thus is born the 30 Day Challenge. All new habits can be established if they are practiced every day for 30 days.

I talk about the five components to live a satisfying life which are; love, money, wellbeing, vision and creativity.

I have taken up a creative project, and I will be doing a new sketch, or drawing,  every day for 30 days. You can join me if you like.

New habits that you begin are better supported, and more dynamic, when started at a New Moon, or a solar eclipse, like the one that occurred on August 11th, which spurred me into action as it was conjoined my Sun.

You can practice New Moon Wishing in line with your birth chart to support your creative new habits.

I will post my progress here. Tag your creations with #starz30 so we can see your beauties. “The 30 Day Drawing Challenge”

Please share this with anyone who needs to see it.

Have a prosperous day,

Alison ⭐️

Day 1

Vancouver Art Gallery - Day 1

The Vancouver Art Gallery from the steps of Robson Square, downtown Vancouver.

I take a photo just to show you. I complete the drawing at the location.

The buildings were a bit wobbly and the trees were hard to draw, but hopefully, I will get better over the next 29 days.

Day 2

The giant pandas outside the Marriott Parq Hotel in Vancouver.

This piece is named “Slow” by Chinese artist Zhang Huan. This sculpture is in stainless steel and is highly polished.

Huan’s pandas are “meant to eulogize eternal maternity and family while expressing expectations of a future, and expresses the artist’s understanding of human nature and his thoughts on love and eternity.”

This drawing was quite a challenge to do in pen and ink. There is about 50 shades of grey.

On a side note, I need to get another pen as this one seems to have run out of ink.

Day 2 of the 30 Day Drawing Challenge over. Roll on the next twenty-eight.

Alison ⭐️

Day 3

Sunset Beach

This is the view across Sunset beach in Vancouver. Looking towards the west.

There were three main bands of color.

From the top down, the sky a hazy grey/blue due to lots of forest fire smoke, the sea which had more bands of dark blue and green within it, and the sand which was beige and grey, or greige, in the footsteps of the bathers.

Beachcombing was great and we collected many shells which we will use as mulch in the little plant pots in our apartment..

Day 4

The waterfall and rill in my local Emery Barnes park in Vancouver.

This was the first year for ages that they have had water flowing in the city parks due to recent water shortages.

The water itself was difficult to capture and somehow the falling water is not quite right, but I think the general image is ok.

Day 5

What is to come…

moon-mother-food

The Opposition Aspect

The Opposition Aspect

The circle divided by two. 360°/2 = 180°

Same polarity

Planets in opposition are usually in the same polarity.

The opposition can be disassociate if one planet is in an active sign and the other in a passive sign.

Opposition Aspect Meaning

Projection

The opposition is an aspect of projection between the self and the other.

This aspect tends to flip-flop between holding a stance in the principle of the first planet and then standing on the other side looking back from the viewpoint of the second planet.

Resistance

It is an aspect that causes resistance between the two planets.

Difficult

It can be difficult, and this aspect needs work to integrate the energies.

Strives for equilibrium

The person will strive for equilibrium within the boundaries of the energies shown by the planets.

Disown

The individual may very well disown the opposite first from one side and then from the other.

Frustrating

It can be frustrating to be constantly alternating the viewpoint.

Oppositions to Other Planets

Sun oppositions create much tension and stress in life.

Moon oppositions make emotional reactions the default response to challenges.

Mercury oppositions result in arguments and verbal conflict and mental stress.

Venus oppositions suggest romance and financial affairs are very difficult to stabilize.

Mars oppositions create general resistance and an abrasive attitude.

Jupiter oppositions grow big problems and need opportunities for resolution to stabilize.

Saturn oppositions can stonewall the individual so they cannot get past the issue.

Uranus oppositions make the individual contentious and uncompromising for others.

Neptune oppositions develop escapist attitudes when the tension rises and coping is hard.

Pluto oppositions can be very difficult to find a resolution, they may be the main theme of the life.
