Discover travel, places, experiences and astrology in everyday life.

Welcome to Explore, where astrology meets the wider world. Here I bring together my love of astrology with my experiences of travelling, visiting interesting places, attending astrology conferences and finding inspiration away from home.

Travel can broaden our horizons, introduce us to new ideas and give us a fresh perspective on life. In astrology, these themes are closely connected with the 9th house, Sagittarius and Jupiter. Astrology also offers techniques for investigating how different places may feature in our lives, whether we are planning a holiday, considering a move or simply curious about the world.

You will find practical travel ideas, personal travel stories and astrological techniques to help you understand the connections between people and places.

Explore Through Astrology

Astrology has plenty to say about travel, exploration and our relationship with the wider world. Several chart factors are particularly relevant when considering journeys, foreign countries and the experience of discovering somewhere new.

Astrological Relocation Ideas

Have you ever wondered whether you would feel different living somewhere else? Perhaps you are considering a move, thinking about retirement in another location or simply curious about how astrology approaches place.

Relocation astrology offers techniques for examining your birth chart in relation to different geographical locations. It is an interesting area of astrology for anyone who wants to investigate the relationship between their chart and the places they visit or call home.

Relocation Astrology

Relocation astrology recalculates a birth chart for a different location while retaining the original birth time. The planetary positions remain essentially the same, but the angles and house placements can change.

This gives astrologers another way to explore how a place might be interpreted in relation to an individual’s chart.

Relocation Astrology: Don’t Make a Move Without It

Astrocartography

Astrocartography maps planetary angular lines across the world using your birth details. These maps are often used by astrologers who want to investigate geographical connections in a birth chart.

Astro Locality

Astro-locality approaches also examine how planetary influences are represented geographically. These techniques can be used to compare locations and generate questions for further chart interpretation.

Local space-time

Local Space astrology offers another perspective by mapping planetary directions from a particular location. It can be used to explore geographical relationships in your immediate environment as well as places farther afield.

These techniques offer different ways to investigate astrology and place. They are best approached as interpretive tools rather than guarantees that a particular destination will produce a particular outcome.

The 9th House

The 9th House is traditionally associated with long-distance travel, foreign countries, higher education, philosophy, religion and the search for meaning.

Travel can take us beyond our familiar surroundings and introduce us to different cultures, beliefs and ways of living. The 9th house describes this broader process of expanding our horizons, both literally and intellectually.

When exploring travel in a birth chart, look at the sign on the 9th house cusp, any planets in the house and the condition of its ruling planet. These factors can add detail to your interpretation.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius is associated with adventure, discovery, freedom and the desire to experience life beyond the familiar.

In the natural zodiac wheel, Sagittarius corresponds with the 9th house. This connection makes Sagittarius an obvious sign to consider when exploring travel and the urge to discover what lies beyond the horizon.

Look at Sagittarius in your own birth chart. Its house placement can show an area of life where you may seek growth, new experiences or a wider perspective.

Jupiter

Jupiter is the traditional ruler of Sagittarius and is closely associated with expansion, opportunity, education and exploration.

In travel astrology, Jupiter can be considered alongside the 9th house and Sagittarius. Its sign, house placement and aspects can add further information about how you approach opportunities, learning and experiences that broaden your world.

Astrology is not a substitute for practical travel planning, but it can provide an interesting additional perspective when considering your relationship with travel and new places.

Astrology Conferences

Astrology conferences are a wonderful way to combine travel with learning. They offer opportunities to meet fellow astrologers, listen to experienced speakers, discover new techniques and spend time with people who share your interest in the subject.

I have travelled to attend astrology events and have written about some of these experiences. Here you can find practical advice and personal accounts to help you plan your own astrology conference trip.

Writing Retreats

Some of my most productive writing happens when I step away from my usual routine and go on a writing retreat. Having dedicated time and space to concentrate on a project helps me work on my astrology books and other writing.

A writing retreat does not have to mean travelling somewhere expensive or disappearing for a week. It can be a short stay away from home, a quiet day in a different setting or even a carefully planned day of writing at home.

Here I share practical ideas for organising a retreat, deciding what to take and making the most of your time.
