What are Affiliate Links?

And Why Should You Use Mine?

An affiliate link means that if you click a link and choose to make a purchase, I may receive a small (micro nay nano) commission from the company.

This always comes at no extra cost to you.

You always pay the same price whether you use an affiliate link or not.

Why I use Affiliate Links

Time and Energy (Saturn and Mars)

As a sole proprietor, running my beloved Starzology takes time, energy and resources.

Affiliate income helps me to cover my costs like website hosting, podcast hosting, email services and the many hours that go into creating free creative astrology content for you.

Using affiliate links helps me to keep Starzology sustainable, so I can continue creatibg, sharing and supporting your astrology journey.

My Recommendations

Below are the affiliate links (mainly Amazon) of art supplies which I personally use and with which I feel comfortable recommending to you.

Art Supplies

Use What You Have

I cannot stress enough that you need to use what you have already.

You do not need to go out and get an art haul before you can start living your creative life.

Use what you have to hand.

Why I List My Art Supplies

Basic vs Premium

Here I’ve listing the art supplies which I personally use and are on my desk in my creator studio every day.

When I began, I had cheap equipment and stuff, but over the years I’m curated a lovely collection of what I think are premium goodies which I like to use.

For example, you can just use a basic plastic ruler, no problem.

However, if you want to keep that ruler for the rest of your life, and you wash it in the dishwasher, as I do, and you want to cut along it with a super sharp blade, then you do need a metal ruler and preferably it’s crafted from stainless steel and not aluminium.

Products I Use

What I Use Every Day

Here are my favorite art supplies.

This list features the paint, crayons, pens and other equipment that I use for my creative art and astrology projects.

Most are affiliate links at no extra cost to you.

Pens

Pencils

Maths Equipment

Markers, Felt-tips and Kokis

I only use the Tombow colored markers in my artwork.

There and many other brands, but I prefer the Tombows.

Sketchbooks and Journals

Back in the day, I used to use larger sketchbooks, but over time, and to satisfy my strong Virgo tendencies for micro goodies, I’ve changed my opinion and I now choose smaller, dare I say, dinky, sketchbooks.

I prefer to use a maximum of an A5 (5″ x 8.5″) journal both for my annual astrology journal and for my sketchbook.

Additionally, I like a 100mm x 100mm (4″ x 4″) travel sketchbook that I can fling in my bag.

My go-to journals, and yes, there are new ones waiting patiently on my shelf in my creator studio, are:

Paper and Pads

Paint Watercolor

Schmincker HORADAM AQUARELL Compact Color Box with 12 Finest Watercolor Colors, 1 Davinci Brush, 74 012 097, Metal Box, Painting Set, Finest Watercolor Colors, 12 x 1/2 Pans. This is a dinky travel paintbox which I love.
Saktura watercolour paintbox
Van Gogh Royal Talens water-colour paint tube, 10 ml – Deep Gold

Colored Pencils or Crayons

Faber Castell polychromas colored pencils This is a tin of 60 colored pencils, but you can buy the colored pencils one by one which is how I do it now, so I can pick and choose the colors I want.
