16th Neptune sextile Pluto

Ongoing

Neptune in Aries is once more making a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius.

This transiting aspect has been on and off for almost seventy-five years and as such is considered a generational aspect.

It is also in my chart where Neptune is in Scorpio and Pluto is in Virgo and they are sextile each other.

23rd the Sun enters Libra

Equinox

At the equinox equilibrium returns if only for a short while.

There is an urge to find win-win

On September 23rd, during the equinox, universal equilibrium briefly returns.

As the Sun enters Libra the energy encourages a search for win-win situations, and many individuals will be open to negotiations to some extent.

However, it’s essential to recognize that trying to please everyone is an impossible task.

Relationships

Instead, it’s wiser to concentrate on appeasing and nurturing the relationships with those who are close and dear to you.

By prioritizing meaningful connections, you can foster a sense of harmony and balance in your life during this time of universal equilibrium.

The festival of Mabon occurs on September 23rd this year.

26th Full Moon Aries

Full Moon

On September 26th, the early 3° Aries Full Moon will radiate energy, possibly leading to intense situations reaching their peak where you can expect some fireworks.

During this period, you might gain clarity on matters that have been apparent to others but perhaps not so evident to you.

Inner Calm and Grace

To navigate this intense phase, practice decisiveness and maintain a calm composure.

Avoid reacting impulsively to emotional provocations from others.

Instead, opt to take the high road, focusing on maturity and grace in your responses.

By doing so, you can handle the Aries Full Moon’s energy in a constructive and positive manner.

28th Mars enters Leo

Sizzle

Fiery Mars, enter sizzling Leo to get some bursts of action in your life.

Expect to have a few things on the go and.

Eventually, what is meaningful, and worthy will rise above it all.

Keep all your options alive as long as you can and avoid closing doors on people and situations this month.

30th Mercury enters Scorpio

Secrets

Expect to be discussing private matters once Mercury has entered Scorpio.

Others are likely to tell you excruciatingly intimate information that you wish you had never heard.

Watch out about giving your powers away through providing too much information to all and sundry.

September 2026 Background Energy

Broad Strokes

I always like to get a feel for the month by looking the background energy. 

This is typically shown through all the planetary positions by sign and their polarity, element and mode emphasis.

As each month develops planets move and create the background energy modifications that I’m talking about here.

For my background energy count I only consider 10 planets which are the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron.

I ignore the Moon.

This is not an exact science, but what in astrology is?

1st September 2026

Polarity

On September 1st the polarities are still slightly out of kilter with 6 Active and four Passive.

Element

The elements are slightly unbalanced with Fire = 3, Earth 3, Air = 3 and lowly Water = 1. 

There is no clear front runner in the elements which, if you recall, need to have two more planets than the next best element which is not the case for Fire, Earth or Air.

Mode

The modes at the start of September are balanced with Cardinal = 4, Fixed = 3 and Mutable = 3.

Again, in the modes there is no clear winner.

Overall

The overall energy feel for the beginning of September is balanced. 

There are no specific outliers by polarity, element, mode or sign whatsoever.

1st October 2026

Polarity

On October 1st the Active polarity has a whopping eight planets, out of a possible 10, thus the passive polarity is reduced to only two planets.

Element

The elemental focus at the end of September is strongly Fire with five planets.

Mode

The mode emphasis is towards Fixed with five planets.

Overall

This results in the month ending with an emphasis on Fixed Fire which equates to the sign of Leo.

This means that the element/mode relates to the sign of Leo however we know that the Sun is in Libra but by the end of September it is the solitary planet in the Cardinal Air sign.
