This month sees the Sun entering Virgo.
Mercury leaves Leo to dash through Virgo and pushes on into Libra.
Venus enters its rulership sign of Libra.
Mars enters Cancer its sign of fall.
Chiron begins its retrograde period for the year.
A Leo solar eclipse occurs which is the first of two eclipses in the second eclipse season for 2026.
A lunar eclipse happens in Pisces
The Sun continues to reduce in declination as it moves southwards from the solstice turning point towards the equator.
In the Wheel of the Year we celebrate the festival of Lammas.
Love is in the air as Venus enters Libra.
If you are single, there is a good chance you will meet a potential partner now.
If you are already in a committed relationship, you can expect meaningful connections with your partner.
Offer stylish and elegant gifts to your loved ones as they will appreciate the gesture.
Venus is feminine. Venus loves, acquires and appreciates. Venus represents young women, girlfriends, sweethearts and accountants. Venus rules Taurus and Libra.
In the Wheel of the Year the Cross Quarter Day, Lammas, marks the midpoint between the summer solstice and the Autumnal equinox (Northern Hemisphere).
This joyous occasion is typically observed on August 1st annually.
However, we astrologers view Lammas as the moment when the Sun reaches 15° of Leo which is on August 8th.
Traditionally, during Lammas, families celebrate the first harvest of early wheat or corn, and everyone takes part in baking bread.
This initial loaf, called the Lammas Loaf, holds special significance.
With shared delight, the freshly baked bread is savored, and festivities abound, honoring the blessings of the present harvest and looking forward to the abundance yet to come.
Open your mind for some fun conversation as you meet interesting people when Mercury enters Leo.
You do not have to be bosom buddies with everyone.
Now you will be discerning about with whom you choose to associate.
Try to be one of the team as there is a mutually creative theme to group dynamics.
Mercury communicates, trades and is factual. Mercury represents agents, salespeople, youths and teachers. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo.
Expect some activity on the home front as Mars enters Cancer.
Family can get agitated now, so count to ten before snapping back.
Use this hot and pushing planetary drive to protect your close family.
Stop all raised voices and arguments immediately as they may get harsh. Guard your kinfolk with your life.
Mars is masculine. Mars competes, challenges and acts. Mars represents young men, boyfriends, bad boys, pioneers, firemen and soldiers. Mars rules Aries and Scorpio.
I am happy to say that Donna was a friend of mine back in the Toronto days before she passed. She will always be remembered with the Toronto astrology crowd. I have a well-worn copy of her book.
With the Solar Eclipse at 20° Leo gracing the skies, a vibrant chapter of creativity unfurls just for you.
Embrace this auspicious moment to start on fresh beginnings in your creative and artistic pursuits.
Whether it be music, art, dance, writing, poetry or any form of creative expression, seize the eclipse moment to take on new projects and wholeheartedly immerse yourself in your ingenious and crafty endeavors.
The key lies in starting now, to allow your creativity to blossom and flourish, dramatically and without restraint under this eclipse effect over the next few months.
As the Sun gracefully enters Virgo, the significance of small things magnifies, offering you a chance to embrace the intricacies of life.
By attentively observing all the details, you can navigate this month with ease and grace.
Choosing kindness and consideration will attract positivity from the world around you, as modesty takes center stage in this moment.
Embrace the essence of Virgo and find harmony in the beauty of life’s finer aspects.
The Sun is masculine, warm, bright and life giving. The Sun represents you, your father and your heroes. The Sun rules the sign of Leo.
Now you can focus on the nitty gritty of life.
All the little things will have great emphasis.
Now your mind will burst with innumerable ideas.
You may wish to start a journal to capture every brilliant thought whilst Mercury is in Virgo.
Now there will be good conversations and exchanges of ideas.
Plans and minor details can be fleshed out now even if the projects are not acted upon just yet.
Get all your paperwork in order.
The end of month Lunar Eclipse occurs at 5° Pisces at the North Node indicating there are things being brought in towards us.
This signals a time when you can see the fruits of your labors either good or bad it depends on what you have been working towards earlier in the year.
Intuition is at an all-time high so tune in to what is going on and don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
The Moon is feminine, passive, reflective, and moody. The Moon represents your mother, cooks, and caregivers. The Moon rules Cancer.
I always like to get a feel for the month by looking the background energy.
This is typically shown through all the planetary positions by sign and their polarity, element and mode emphasis.
As each month develops planets move and create the background energy modifications that I’m talking about here.
For my background energy count I only consider 10 planets which are the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron.
I ignore the Moon.
This is not an exact science, but what in astrology is?
On August 1st the Active polarity has a whopping seven planets, out of a possible 10, thus the passive polarity is reduced to only three planets.
The elemental focus at the start of August is strongly Fire with four planets.
The mode emphasis is towards Fixed with four planets.
This results in an emphasis on Fixed Fire which equates to the sign of Leo.
Which is great because sometimes as you know the emphasis when broken down does not relate to the main sign, but in August it does.
By September 1st the polarities are still slightly iof kilter with 6 Active and four Passive.
The elements are slightly unbalanced with Fire = 3, Earth 3, Air = 3 and lowly Water = 1.
There is no clear front runner in the elements which, if you recall, need to have two more planets than the next best element which is not the case for Fire, Earth or Air.
The modes by the end of August are balanced with Cardinal = 4, Fixed = 3 and Mutable = 3.
Again, in the modes there is no clear winner.
The overall energy feel for the end of August is pretty balanced.
There are no specific outliers by polarity, element, mode or sign whatsoever.
For August we highlight the Mesopotamian Goddess Lillith.
You can explore her myth and enjoy the original artwork created by Arwynne.
In your astrology journal and referring to your chart, or the chart of a potential client, and because this is eclipse month, please do the following:
With your natal chart and the August chart please do the following:
I suggest you reference this fabulous book Predictive Astrology: The Eagle and the Lark by Bernadette Brady especially if you do the Saros work.
As we move into August, I hope you feel supported by these insights and encouraged to trust the rhythm of your own life.
Make the most of the two eclipses.
And that there are no stations to stop progress in its tracks.
Have a fabulous August.

As Neptune stations retrograde at 4° Aries it is a time for a pause.
You may do well to rest and reflect but don’t spend too much time swinging in a hammock sipping a piña colada without getting anything done.
Your muse may arrive at any time and the best ideas need to be captured either as sketches or words in your dream book.
Neptune understands, dissolves and eludes. The people that Neptune represents are dreamers, ghosts, angels and nomads. Neptune rules Pisces.
Venus is feminine. Venus loves, acquires and appreciates. Venus represents young women, girlfriends, sweethearts and accountants. Venus rules Taurus and Libra.
The Moon is feminine, passive, reflective, and moody. The Moon represents your mother, cooks, and caregivers. The Moon rules Cancer.
Get ready for some creative fun and play.
Take time for leisure activities and focus on what makes you happy.
Use this dynamic celestial energy of the Sun in Leo to do something that warms your heart and the souls of others.
Be generous of spirit and you will experience contentment.
Now you can easily find joy in ordinary tasks.
The Sun is masculine, warm, bright and life giving. The Sun represents you, your father and your heroes. The Sun rules the sign of Leo.
Mercury will station direct at 16° Cancer, which is a positive development.
This change in Mercury’s motion will bring relief to stalled decisions and unresolved contracts which could have been causing delays.
Clarity of thought will improve, to make it easier for you to find solutions to creative challenges compared to the recent past.
Now is a favorable time to make decisions, but it’s important to be honest about your motives.
In general, this period is marked by positivity and creative ideas will flow freely.
While you might not be able immediately think things through, any concepts can be explored and strengthened.
Mercury communicates, trades and is factual. Mercury represents agents, salespeople, youths and teachers. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo.
Neptune in Aries is once more making a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius.
This transiting aspect has been on and off for almost seventy-five years and as such is considered a generational aspect.
It is also in my chart where Neptune is in Scorpio and Pluto is in Virgo and they are sextile each other.
As Saturn stations retrograde at 14° Aries it indicates there is a new way of looking at what you are trying to achieve in life.
Take time to pause and think about your next strategic move.
The plan you had before may need tweaking as you move forwards.
Use this moment to seriously review things which you are trying to realize.
⠀
Saturn limits, times and masters. Saturn represent your father, older men and managers. Saturn rules the two signs of Capricorn and Aquarius.
On 27th July 2026 the North Node moves into Aquarius and the South Node moves into Leo.
The nodes do linger and wobble slightly on the cusp between the two signs and that is quite normal.
⠀
⠀
The North Node in Aquarius points you toward collective growth, community participation and suggests we need a future-focused mindset.
Destiny calls us to think beyond personal glory and consider the greater good.
The South Node in Leo is likely to encourage you the release of old ego patterns, attention-seeking, and the need to be center stage.
This nodal retrograde shift of energy is a gentle invitation for you to let go of pride and step into shared purpose.
This active polarity nodal shift supports collaboration, innovation and humanitarian ideals.
Any personal meaningful progress is likely to come through your cooperation, shared visions and by caring for the wider world.
The Full Moon at 6° Aquarius highlights individuality, innovation and connection.
It brings clarity about how you fit into our communities while staying true to yourself.
This is a time for breakthroughs, fresh ideas and some cool emotional detachment.
Celebrate your uniqueness, release old patterns and open yourself to inspired visions for the future.
For July we highlight Aire a celtic goddess.
You can explore her myth and enjoy the original artwork created by Arwynne.

On July 26, 2026, the Lunar Nodes will change signs.
The nodes take 18.6 years to transit the whole zodiac and so they change signs around every eighteen months.
When discussing the nodes you always state the North Node first as in the nodes are ingressing into Aquarius and Leo.
Whereas typically when referencing signs, you always list the signs in order, so that would be Leo and Aquarius.
The true nodes move direct, station and retrograde slightly throughout each month, but in general the trend of their movement is retrograde through the zodiac signs.
The nodes were in Pisces and Virgo and now will be in Aquarius and Leo.
Listen to our latest podcast episode on the Lunar Nodes changing signs.
The North Node is also known as the dragon’s head or Caput Draconis.
Connections to new people are shown through your North Node.
Meetings, get-togethers and rendezvous are likely to happen.
The North Node is concerned with things that occur at a hub (computer routers, airports).
The North Node shows your current incarnation in this life.
It suggests your karmic objectives.
The North Node is related to consciousness.
The North Node indicates your destiny, future path and where you can grow and evolve.
The South Node is also known as the dragon’s tail or Cauda Draconis.
The South Node suggests connections with people from your past.
It indicates the things that you already know.
The South Node shows your past incarnations and therefore your past lives.
This point is related to unconsciousness and sub-consciousness.
The South Node clearly shows your past and your past lives.
It is a place where stagnation can take place.
The North Node will move into Aquarius.
The North Node in Aquarius fears, but should push towards, being humble.
Aquarius is an air sign concerned with groups, communities, innovation, technology and the future.
While Leo seeks personal recognition, Aquarius seeks collective progress.
During this nodal period, growth comes through participation with others, sharing ideas and contributing to something larger than yourself.
The North Node in Aquarius encourages people to step back from personal drama and consider how they can serve the wider community.
There is a call to become more objective and less attached to individual praise or approval.
New opportunities may arise through friendships, networks, clubs, associations and social causes.
Aquarius is associated with originality and independent thinking.
During this transit, there is encouragement to develop your unique perspective without needing constant validation from others.
New connections may be formed through technology, online communities, scientific interests or humanitarian activities.
The challenge of the North Node in Aquarius is that it can feel uncomfortable to move away from the spotlight and into a more equal role within a group.
There may be fears about fitting in, being accepted or contributing something worthwhile.
Growth occurs when you willingly share your talents for the benefit of the collective.
The North Node in Aquarius asks, “How can my individual gifts help create a better future for everyone?”
The South Node will move into Leo.
The South Node in Leo falls back on arrogance.
Leo is a fire sign associated with creativity, self-expression, leadership and personal recognition.
The South Node in Leo suggests familiar patterns related to seeking attention, approval or admiration from others.
These are qualities that may feel comfortable because they have already been developed.
During this nodal cycle, there can be a tendency to focus too heavily on personal importance or to believe that your way is the only way.
Pride, vanity or the desire to be special may become stumbling blocks if taken too far.
Situations may arise which reveal where ego has become attached to outcomes.
The South Node in Leo is not asking you to abandon creativity, leadership or self-expression.
Rather, it suggests that these talents have already been cultivated and can now be used in service of a wider purpose.
The challenge is to avoid becoming trapped in the need for recognition or applause.
At its best, I believe that the South Node in Leo provides confidence, courage, generosity and warmth.
These gifts can be shared with groups and communities through the balancing influence of the North Node in Aquarius.
The South Node in Leo asks, “Can I contribute my talents without needing to be the center of attention?”
In your astrology journal and referring to your chart, or the chart of a potential client, please do the following:
With your natal chart and the new ingress chart please do the following:
The shift of the Lunar Nodes into Aquarius and Leo marks a collective change in emphasis from personal recognition towards group participation.
The invitation for us all is to move beyond any individual ego concerns and discover how our unique talents can contribute to the greater good.
While the South Node in Leo indicates our creativity, confidence and personal strengths, the North Node in Aquarius encourages collaboration, friendship, innovation and shared vision.
Over the next eighteen months, growth is likely to come from balancing your individuality with your community and to learn how your own personal gifts can support the collective progress.

Author: Alison Price – Updated: January 2026
There are five specific points in a retrograde period. If you are not familiar about the stages of the planetary retrograde periods, I urge you to explore some more for clarity.
Chiron enters the pre-shadow on April 10, 2026.
Chiron enters Taurus on June 19, 2026.
Chiron stations retrograde on August 2nd, 2026, at 0°51′ Taurus.
Chiron, still retrograde, re-enters Aries on September 18th, 2026.
Chiron stations direct on January 6th, 2027, at 26°15′ Aries.
Chiron re-enters Taurus for the final time on Apr 14th, 2027
Chiron clears the after-shadow on May 15th, 2027.
Chiron will remain in Taurus for seven years until August 2033 when it moves into Gemini.
If you have an Aries Ascendant, then transiting Chiron in the second house can suggest you have a gift for managing money.
You may give more or you may be the recipient of support from others by them giving you a position to earn some money.
This is a time for not really being paid what you are worth. It also indicates you somehow find healing in your self-esteem.
If you have a Taurus Ascendant, you become aware of your personal weaknesses when Chiron enters your first house.
This can be a time for self-improvement on many levels. At this time, you are your own best teacher and you may discover what you really need in your life.
If you have a Gemini Ascendant, as Chiron enters your twelfth house it is a time for quiet contemplation.
You may spend peaceful times and help your dark side whatever that is.
If you have secret problems (like addictions) you can address them now.
This is the time to heal your inner self which could be simply getting more sleep so you can face the day.
Prayer and meditation will help calm you now.
If you have a Cancer Ascendant, then transiting Chiron will enter your eleventh house brings friends that need help.
You may be asked to assist your friends and associates which you are happy to do and rightly so as this is the time for you to give this type of aid.
Make sure you do not become their doormat as at this time you can do more for them than is actually helpful.
Becoming your friend’s enabler will not help them in the long run.
If you have a Leo Ascendant, promotion that happens under a Chiron transit of the tenth house can be a two edged sword.
You are glad of the opportunity but the reality of the extra responsibility. and what is required of you, may make you feel overwhelmed.
You can suffer from “imposter syndrome” where you can’t believe that someone is paying you to do the job, because you like it so much, and can that be right?
Or can it?
If you have a Virgo Ascendant, it is the perfect time to start an adult education program or go back to college.
You are open to knowledge and will find a great teacher now.
Religion and philosophy may become one of your study areas.
Travel to areas where you can help other people such as teaching, aid or educating people is good now.
If you have a Libra Ascendant, as Chiron passes through your eighth house you may become aware of your own mortality and frailness.
This is an excellent time to get therapy (or rehab) for yourself.
It is a good time for psychoanalysis as you are eager to learn from a good teacher.
During this period, you could take too much (and take for granted) from your partner like money, food or emotional demands.
Make sure to give support to any joint and shared resources.
If you have a Scorpio Ascendant, when Chiron enters your seventh house your partner may need your help.
It is a time to see the cracks in your relationships and try to patch them up.
New relationships started at this time will be a learning process for you.
You may meet a potential partner who becomes a burden to you.
If you have a Sagittarius Ascendant, it is the perfect time to take refresher courses in your industry and find a mentor at work.
You are likely to find advisors in the job market now.
These people may be recruiters or peers it depends.
If you are over fifty you can become the mentor for a younger protegè.
If you have a Capricorn Ascendant, then transiting Chiron will be in your fifth house suggests that you may acknowledge your children’s imperfections for the first time.
This also indicates that your children may take advantage of your weakness because you love them.
You may overindulge your children now which may not be for their good.
If you have an Aquarius Ascendant, then transiting Chiron in the fourth house suggests that you will discover weaknesses in your family and home.
This could indicate that you can address any problems and become a person that your family can turn to in times of their need.
You are seen as the family counsellor.
If you have a Pisces Ascendant, as Chiron passes through your third house it can suggest that you are happy to teach others in your neighborhood, this can be the local kids or the people in your immediate surroundings.
You may find a thought leader now and enjoy their teachings.
Here are some books which may interest you.

These horoscopes consider the changing planetary energies throughout each month. In general, I look at three things, ingresses, lunations and stations.
If there are other important events happening during a month, I may write about them as well, it just depends.
These horoscopes consider the planets changing signs or ingressing. Several planets change signs each month and this can vary.
When a planet goes from one sign into the next it may benefit or have its energy reduced. How well a planet is placed in a sign is known as essential dignity.
We look at the New Moon and the Full Moon or any Solar or Lunar Eclipses when they occur. Eclipses only happen in a couple of months each year.
