Equinox chart
Northern Hemisphere
On September 23rd at 5:05am EST the Sun will have reached 0° Libra in its journey around the zodiac. At this point it crosses the plane of the ecliptic, moving southwards, which heralds fall in the north and the start of spring in the southern hemisphere. You only experience exactly twelve hours from sunrise to sunset if you are somewhere on the Earth’s equator at the time. It is the reason it is called the equinox meaning equal day and night.
Looking at the equinox chart we note both the Sun and Venus have taken up residence in Libra. Exalted Saturn is continuing to pass through the airy cardinal sign. Libra’s sign ruler (Venus), its exalted ruler (Saturn) and the star at the centre of our solar system (the Sun) are all positive influences being expressed through Libra now.
Therefore the three powerful planetary influences are working at full capacity making the sign of Libra a huge focus this quarter. Those of you with planets and chart points in Libra will have them energised as all three transit through. For the rest of you the spotlight will be on the areas of life as shown by the house in your natal chart which has Libra on the cusp. Expect to be concerned with finding balance and harmony in relations with others.
Uranus is a 2° Aries and is being opposed by the Sun, Venus and Mercury. That makes three oppositions to Uranus which along with the Sun and Venus all form squares to Pluto in Capricorn creating two t-squares in cardinal signs. The ongoing cardinal square between Uranus and Pluto still creates the backdrop for other ever changing planetary movements.
Mercury remains in its domain of Virgo at the actual Equinox but will soon ingress into Libra as to add a communicative dynamic to the mix. We can expect the next three months until the solstice in December to be a softer repeat of the cardinal squares of recent months.
For astrologers
The Sun in opposition to retrograde Uranus may cause astrologers to pause and to see their clients points of view. It is time of the year for astrologers (and students) to sit back and assess the quality of their own creative work and the progress in personal astrology enlightenment which they may have made in the past six months since the Sun’s conjunction to Uranus.
